Only one will survive

The Cullen's are gone. Cadyna is alone again but imprisoned. The fate of the vampire, human and werewolf world rests on her shoulders. Only one will survive, they will be the unlucky one. The fourth story in the cross-breed series. Sequel to Cross-Breed, Hunting For Love and Alone (in the order)

I know, i'm so evil. I left everyone on a total cliffie at the end of the last story. But, i think i'm entitled considering that only two people reviewed. they reviewed more then once but still, two people! That really is pathetic! I need more reviews to fuel my creativity. If i don't on this story i will stop on a cliffie and not update any more.

Felix leapt at me. Snarling erupted from behind me as the wolves leapt to defend me. Felix landed and sank his teeth straight into me. I felt my strength waning again. I’d only just managed to fight off the darkness before. Then Felix emitted a strange choking noise. He was pulled off me and I noticed two pale arms wrapped around him.

“I’m really sorry Felix,” Alec said from behind him. The Felix’s head was propelled across the space and into the wall. Alec flicked out a lighter.

“NO! He couldn’t help it! Don’t burn him!” I protested.

“I’m sorry Cadyna. Kill or be killed remember. He’ll reassemble himself and kill someone. We have to get out now. Get the wolves out now! I found some pictures of the army. It’s a lot worse then we thought” he flicked the lighter onto the dismembered limbs.

“How did you get in?”

“The same way I got out” he said. We gestured for the wolves to follow and snuck out of the room. We darted towards the back entrance (which backed onto a forest). For once, there was no one there.

“C’mon. We have to get out of here!” we ran out of the building.

“That was easy,” Collin muttered.

“To easy” I whispered. That’s when it hit. Bullet flew from the bushes. And flames.

“DUCK!” someone shouted. I no longer saw. I just felt. I had never felt such intense pain, anger. My body shook and I exploded. I was pure aggression, pure wolf. The bullets were raining down on us. The other wolves had phased too. Their thoughts were incoherent growls and snarls.

Don’t fight them! Just run! We have to get out of the city! I shouted in my mind. They barked in response and changed direction. Then I spotted her. She was half-hidden in the bushes holding a very nasty looking gun. In her, other hand was a flamethrower. I groaned. This was going to be a nasty fight. I had to separate her from the rest of the group. Why was she doing this? Alec looked slightly stunned, seeing her in the bushes. The wolves were nearly away but I needed to take her out. Alec wasn’t leaving. He was fighting his way towards me.

“Alec! Leave now!”

“Not without you!” he shouted, “If we go, we go together!”

“Fine you idiot!” I grabbed his hand and he pulled me away from the fighting. The vampires were chasing after us. I stopped and turned.

“STOP” I said. They were frozen by my power. Then they started to move. In slow motion. My power wasn’t working!

“RUN!” I shouted at Alec. We started to run. When I glanced back, they were getting faster. We reached our target, a black sports car with the wolves all ready inside. Then we sped off. They followed us half-heartedly but when we had gone out of the forest, they stopped. We reached the airport and boarded.

“They knew! How could they know?” I gasped.

“I don’t know Cadyna. We just need to get back to Forks and warn the others. Demetri in charge is the last thing we need. At least Caius has boundaries!” I tried to relax.

“You need to sleep. I’ll make sure they don’t get any trouble. You just sleep” I lay back in my seat. I hadn’t realized how tired I was.

I woke up half way through the flight. My head was rested against Alec’s neck. It was dark outside the window and everyone else was asleep. I could hear the werewolves snoring. I found Alec’s cold hard skin comforting. I was about to go back to sleep when I heard something.

“Cadyna. I’ll tell you a secret” But he didn’t know I was awake.

“When I ran away, I asked you to come with me. I never told you why. The reason is…I love you”
