Only one will survive

The Cullen's are gone. Cadyna is alone again but imprisoned. The fate of the vampire, human and werewolf world rests on her shoulders. Only one will survive, they will be the unlucky one. The fourth story in the cross-breed series. Sequel to Cross-Breed, Hunting For Love and Alone (in the order)

I know, i'm so evil. I left everyone on a total cliffie at the end of the last story. But, i think i'm entitled considering that only two people reviewed. they reviewed more then once but still, two people! That really is pathetic! I need more reviews to fuel my creativity. If i don't on this story i will stop on a cliffie and not update any more.

I ran. I heard it land and give chase. I couldn’t think of it as Holly, I wouldn’t. I could feel the hot breath on my back. I phased mid run and darted ahead on all fours. I heard other snarls. I tripped and fell, head over heels, so I landed on my back. I turned to stare. It reared up to its full height and I saw the full extent of the transformation, bathed in the moonlight. It was a demonic creature, at least seven feet high. It snarled, and I could see a cavernous blood red tunnel, sided with fangs, three-inch long fangs, that shone a blinding white in the eerie light. Its fur was black and coarse, short and spiky. Its eyes shone dementedly, a deep sparkling onyx. It raised one black paw and four knife-like claws appeared with an ominous grating noise. The claws were curved, perfect for ripping. She leapt at me, pining me to the ground with her claws. I snarled back and bared my slightly smaller but equally sharp teeth at her. She didn’t look scared, in fact, it had the opposite effect. She sliced the air and I just managed to dodge out the way. Then she roared as though she was in pain. Her wrist was spouting blood. She snarled and spun around. I saw Jo behind her, and she had a sword, dripping with blood. Stephenie was there with a big needle.

“Cadyna, run to La Push! We’ll deal with her!” I did, but I stopped halfway and watched. Jo had her arms around Holly’s throat and Stephenie was struggling to get the needle into Holly’s arm. I carried on to La Push. There were five off them tethered up to slabs of silver. Great big slabs, the kind that a vampire would need to use two arms to lift and a human wouldn’t be able to lift at all. Two were sleeping. One was struggling and the other two were just staring into space.

“Guys, I just thought of another problem,” I said to the cluster of vampires. They turned.

“The werewolves can’t be tied to silver blocks if we want them to fight but if we let them run loose they’ll kill others, not just our enemies,” I said. Edward looked dumbstruck.

“DAMN!” he yelled, and he kicked a nearby rock (shattering it into a thousand little pieces).

“I have an idea,” said a quiet voice.

“Every new break we get knocked back again!” Edward declared.

“I have an idea,” said Nessie again.

“I can’t believe this!”

“DAD! Read my lips…I. Have. An. Idea” Nessie yelled.

“Okay” he said, struggling to calm down. Stephenie and Jo appeared, dragging an unconscious Holly and a deer.

“You know that molten silver you mentioned?” she said to Stephenie.

“If we injected ourselves with it, then the wolves probably wouldn’t like it. So they wouldn’t attack us. We could test it out on a deer” Jack and Mark dragged forward a large silver briefcase. They opened it to reveal several metal tubes. They placed one in a syringe and injected it into the struggling deer. They held it towards one of the wolves. It sniffed and grunted before turning away.

“Our syringes can go through vampire skin, it’ll be fine”

“Except that silver is toxic to humans if they have too much,” I pointed out “so we’ll have to find another way with Jo, Mark, Jack and Stephenie”

“We can mix silver particles in with something else,” said Jo confidently.

“Then, everyone needs to hunt and be ready for tomorrow” said a Romanian vampire named Vanessa. Everyone nodded. Time to hunt.
