Notes:
I know, i'm so evil. I left everyone on a total cliffie at the end of the last story. But, i think i'm entitled considering that only two people reviewed. they reviewed more then once but still, two people! That really is pathetic! I need more reviews to fuel my creativity. If i don't on this story i will stop on a cliffie and not update any more.

I went straight back to my room, no detours. I hoped nobody saw me; I already owed enough favors. I lay on my bed. Almost a second after I lay down there was a knock at my door. If it had been Caius, Demetri or Heidi they would have just walked in. I opened it.

“Alec?” I hissed.

“Can I come in?” he whispered, glancing around. I nodded and ushered him in.

“Alec, how did you get out? I mean, is Jane out too?”

“No. I found a way out but I can’t stay here long. I heard what happened in the other cell, with Felix and Demetri. If they find me in here they’ll blame you and this time...” I was confused. Why did he care so much? I was touched that he cared but I didn’t understand why.

“I’m leaving soon. You could come with me” he said, “We could go somewhere safe, away from the fighting and Caius and everything”

“You’d leave Jane?” I found that hard to believe.

“Yes”

“Why?”

“Jane is my sister. She‘s my family but…” that put tears in my eyes as I thought of my ruined family.

“My family is dead. All the Cullen’s are” I sobbed. Alec looked shocked. He hadn’t found that out yet.

“I’m sorry Cadyna. I had no idea”

“I’m sorry. I want to leave but I can’t. Not yet. Felix is the last person I have, and he’s stuck in the dungeons. You go and I’ll stay. I’ll look out for stuff that’s happening here,” I said. He nodded, understanding.

“How are you going to get out?”

“I’ll find a way” he grinned at me but it didn’t reach his eyes. He got up and opened the door. He stuck his head around a peeked out.

“Right, cost is clear. Oh, I almost forgot” he handed me a new phone. Demetri has taken my old one.

“Ring me if you want to leave or if anything new happens. And I’ll do the same” he said before sneaking out. I watched him leave then locked the door. It wasn’t enough to keep a vampire out, especially if the vampire had a key, but it would give me enough time. I phased. I had discovered something new. As the wolves could communicate telepathically, I always assumed that skill had been changed to my one, which meant I knew stuff about people when I touched them. But now, I had discovered that that was only part of it. That only worked in human form but in wolf form I could communicate. So far, I had only worked out how to receive the thoughts but I was practicing secretly every day. I focused and searched for other minds.

Is there anyone out there? A thought came to me.

Yes. This is Quil. That was strange. Only alpha’s of different packs could communicate. Quil had been in Jacob’s pack. And Leah was the second in command.

Hey Quil. It’s Seth. Okay, now it made sense. Seth and Quil were both in the same pack, but it didn’t really explain why I could here them. Maybe it was because I was odd.

Any news about the others?

No. I’m keeping the line open at all times. Sam’s still around and he’s trying to locate the rest of his pack but we know some of them have been taken. Does anyone know what happened to the Cullen’s?

The house was in destroyed but…

“What is going on in here?” great. Heidi. They say before you die your life flashes before your eyes. Well, I probably wasn’t going to die but I still had a flash. My conversation with Alec.

“You’d leave Jane?”

“Yes”

“Why?”
