Crimson Moon

Since Eclipse came out, this is extremely outdated, and I haven't written in a while and considered discontinuing it, but some extremely nice people said I should keep going!!! (You all deserve cookies and hugs, by the way). So, once again: Bella and Edward are finally married, but when some of the Cullens' close friends have tragedy thrust upon them, and an unwelcome visitor (at least to Bella) comes to stay, what will happen next? Teen rating is a safety net....there are some incredibly prude people out there. It isn't really that bad, but whatever. Reviewing my story would be like a little kid seeing Santa and Rudolph on Christmas!! You know you want me to feel like that!!!Chapter 9 is up!!! Finally!!! WOOHOO!! R&R, cause ya know I love hearing from you!!

It's just something I'm trying my hand at...review and tell me how I did. Pwease??? *pouts adorably*

Immediately, I felt the burning throb spread from my neck down through my chest and arms. Simultaneously, it went up into my head. Throughout it all, I screamed, loudly, at the top of my lungs, and only one word.

EDWARD!” Right away, I felt an alien coldness press against my neck and face, all the places it burned. It soothed the pain, but only temporarily. Would it ever stop?

Through the haze of pain, I could focus on nothing. There was only the horrendous burning sensation and the occasional touch of the alien coolness against my smoldering skin. Through the whole thing, I cried out in pain, the same words over and over again.

EDWARD! Make it stop! Make it stop!” Then the memories began.

We were sitting in the meadow again, Edward in front of me, explaining how much more dangerous he was to me than to anyone else.

“You’re saying I’m your brand of heroin?” He nodded.

“Yes, you are exactly my brand of heroin.”

Pain. All-consuming, gut-wrenching pain. And that cool touch, cooling down the flesh that it came into contact with.

We were back at my birthday party, all sitting around waiting for me to open my next present.

“Open mine and Edward’s next,” Alice said.

I glared at Edward. “You promised.”

At that moment, Emmett burst in. “Just in time!” he crowed.

I turned my attention back to Edward, who replied to my simple statement by saying, “I didn’t spend a dime.”

I looked at Alice. “Give it to me.”

I slid my finger under the opening, but the paper sliced my finger. A single drop of blood oozed out.

“No!” Edward roared.

Burning, searing me from the inside out. I could do nothing but scream that name, the name that, in the intensity of the pain, was starting to lose its meaning. But it did mean something, so I screamed it and let the memories continue.

I was running toward Edward in the square in Volterra, trying desperately to reach him before he exposed himself and got killed.

“No!” I screamed. “Edward, look at me!”

He just smiled slightly and started to take the step into the sunlight that would expose them all.

I slammed into him with enough force to have knocked me down, and would have, but he caught and held me up. His eyes opened and he looked at me.

“Amazing,” he said. “Carlisle was right.”

The pain was getting better. The cool touch was doing more now, and voices were coming through the pain-induced fog.

“Edward, you have to leave. This is torturing you.”

Then I heard a mesmerizing voice, velvety smooth and beloved to my ears. “No, I’m not leaving her. I’ll be here when she wakes up.”

“Edward, she’ll be fine. The convulsions have stopped, and it’ll only be a few hours or so. But she won’t wake up now, and she’s still in pain. I can see that this is killing you.”

“Didn’t you hear me? I’m not leaving her!” I began to sink slowly back into the haze, but not before I felt that cool touch, surprisingly not as cold now, brushing across my lips, and the blackness took over.
