Jacob’s Point of View

I was running. I was running until my muscles burned and my lungs ached. I was so free it hurt- it hurt because I knew somewhere just beyond those woods Renesmee was not. When I got to the barrier between woods and lawn I phased back to human form, it felt strange standing on two legs because I had been running for days now- trying to beat Felix in a life or death race for love and life. If all ended well today I would be able to hold Renesmee in my arms tonight but if god forbid the worst were to happen I know I could never forgive myself.

I searched for a sign…any sign of her in the apartment, just a shirt or a hair pin, anything that would prove she was alright and then I searched for other signs like blood or broken furniture that would prove my worst nightmares but I found nothing. It was as if she was wiped off the face of the earth all together in one motion, I could barley even smell her. I walked down the street to a tiny grocery store on the corner, a feeble old women sat at the counter bored out of her mind. I could feel her heart race as I walked through the door.

“Ummm…excuse me miss, have you seen a women here by the name Renesmee. About 5’ 2’’, bronze hair, brown eyes?” The lady looked at me through her thick glasses that made her look bug eyed.

“N-n-no. No on by the name Renesmee around here.” She stammered on her words for a second and I eyed her suspiciously.

“Uh you sure? She’s impossible to miss. She’s very beautiful and pregnant too.” The old lady blinked a couple of times before she registered what I was saying.

“Oh dear! You’re talking about Ness aren’t you! Well no wonder I had no clue who you were talking about! You should’ve said pregnant the first time silly!” She smiled real big and I could tell she had dentures. That made me smile too.

“Well do you know where she went then? I went by her apar-” All of a sudden the women’s face grew somber and it was like a punch to my face.

“Honey… a man came down here a couple days ago looking for her, he caught her right before she left this place too. She was already on her way out.” My hands began to tremble and I could feel a growl crawl up my throat. It was Felix.

“Do you know what happened to them? Did she leave?” The lady furrowed her brow in concentration before answering.

“Well im not sure what happened but she certainly doesn’t live here anymore. He said his name was Felix… said he was a relative or something. You should call her parents son, she didn’t look to old to be out there all alone with a baby and all.” Another customer came in and I didn’t have time to reply. All I knew was that Renesmee was gone and where ever she was now, it was Felix who took her there. I wasn’t any more then 2 feet into the woods when I exploded into my wolf form. I needed to tell Edward, I needed to tell the Cullen’s. I needed to save her somehow from this disaster that was all my fault. It was all my fault.

Renesmee’s Point of View

My eyes snapped open in the morning and my head was spinning with dark fabrics and earthy colors, the brooding atmosphere was starting to make me physically sick. I looked around madly searching for Dawn in his crib only to be calmed slightly by the vision of him sleeping peacefully in his little bed. I gazed at him lovingly, surveying his tiny features carefully making sure every hair was right where I left it. He looked so much like a little angel the way he slept that I almost forgot where I was. I had only begun to make a full diagnosis of the room surrounding me when a slight movement in the corner caught my eye.

“Did you sleep well?” Felix asked suddenly and I almost jumped out of my skin.

“What!? Yes of course I did!” The panicked look on my face betrayed my angry tone. Felix laughed at me while I attempted to get up from the very uncomfortable couch, my body swayed back and forth as a wave of vertigo hit me. Felix caught me and my body grew rigid and stiff.

“Don’t be so cold Ness, im only trying to save you from a concussion.” He said as I pushed off of him.

“Hah! Me being cold? Look who’s talking! Plus I can’t get concussions idiot.” I stumbled over to my bag of things and searched for any sign of home. Nothing. I sighed and kept my eyes on the suitcase.

“I guess you’ll need to shower now. I can take care of Da-”

“No! You will not! Where’s Jane?” I interrupted Felix, he chuckled once and then grew serious. “I am the child’s father you know… I’m obliged to spend time with him.” His stupid accent filled the air and I wanted to rip my ears off.

“Stop being so nice fuck! Just stop it already! No one believes you and no one ever will! So just stop already!” My voice made that oh so familiar screeching noise and he winced at the sound.

“I’m just trying to be helpful here lady! You don’t need to have a little tantrum whenever I offer my assistance, you could be a lot more grateful to you know! I could’ve just left you over there in the middle of no where with a broken heart and no kid at all! Instead I bring you here to my living space and my family just to hear you bitch and moan every five seconds! You’re making it really difficult to be civilized with you Nessie!” A hysterical laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it.

“You call this a family! This is hardly a family! You want to take care of Dawn? Well we’ll see how committed you really are! Change his diaper, take him a bath, and feed him while I go do normal teenage things okay?!” I walked out of the door still laughing as I searched for the bathroom mindlessly. If only he wasn’t such a jerk off! I could be nicer to him but that wouldn’t be any fun! I’d rather make his life a living hell while I was trapped here…

When I finally reached the bathroom, I shed my clothes quickly and quietly. The warm water felt so amazingly good on my back, I breathed in a warm chunk of air and was almost choked by the purity of it. I was just about having the greatest shower in my life until I heard a slight knock on the bathroom door. My body froze in horror. What if it was Demitri? What if it was Alec? What if it was Felix? Oh my god oh my god oh my god! My heart was racing and my knees were shaking I could feel my pulse jumping through my skin.

“Rene- I mean Vanessa? Vanessa it’s me Jane. I brought something to wear. Felix wanted you to look more formal for you’re meeting with Aro. Im sorry if it’s a little out there, he has a very classic sense of style.” My heart seemed to putter to a stop when I heard Jane’s sweet angelic voice. I sighed in relief.

“Oh Jane I thought you were…well someone other then you. Thanks I guess, I’ll call if I need anything else.” Jane laughed and closed the door silently.

“Okay.” I heard her say as she walked down the hall.

The dress was definitely antique and it was definitely more then formal. It was elegant and long and very silk. At first I was scared to put it on, fearing Felix had given me something raunchy and slutty to wear, but when I slipped it over my body it seemed to drape perfectly over my skin. I watched myself very carefully in the mirror as I twirled around in the king sized bathroom, trying to imagine the life I was about to lead. Princess dresses, haunted castles, monsters and angels all together in one house hold. It was definitely odd but was it that bad? I shook that though from my head as I strapped on the lacy heels, they fit perfect only my small feet. I stepped out of the bathroom to see Felix leaning on a nearby wall, holding Dawn gently in his arms. I rolled my eyes and counted to ten before I went into another one of my manic rages. It’s alright Nessie. Just go for it already! I said to my self before walking forward and grabbing Dawn from Felix’s grip.

“Let’s go.” I said determined but still a little freighted. I was anxious to know what laid ahead of me just beyond those broad wooden doors.
