I watched the earth brown castle creep forward slowly towards us and sighed a heavy over exaggerated sigh. It was all too extravagant for my taste and I would definitely have trouble settling in for the next…well I don’t know how many years. The thought of living in Count Dracula’s castle for too long made me shudder and Jane noticed.

“You’ll get used to it darling. It’s not that bad when you count out all the screams.” She said sounding very blaze, as if the screams didn’t bother her at all.

“It’s not the Castle that makes me cringe- it’s the people who live there. No offense.” She shrugged her shoulders and smiled.

“None taken.” The sky turned black as we proceeded driving into a ghostly tunnel at 70 mph.

“What’s the upside of living here then?” I asked searching for any positive sign of life in my future. Dawn squealed happily in my arms as the lights above made a strobe light effect as we passed them.

“I guess it would be the same as living with the Cullen’s.” She said grimacing at the name. Her and my mother have had beef for the past 7 years and I laughed at the face she made as she discussed the similarities.

“The only difference between here and there is that we don’t have parents.” A grim look crossed her face as she said this, probably remembering Felix’s situation.

“Did you love him?” I said absent mindedly.

“Who?” She asked suddenly jostled by my words.

“Felix? Did you love Felix?” She started laughing and the car filled with bells and wind chimes.

“Oh no! He isn’t he one I want honey. Just between us girls…it’s Demitri im after.” Her eyes turned bright but I couldn’t be happy for her. He was a monster too.

“That’s nice I guess.” I said as the car came to a stop in a gigantic garage with about fifty other classic and/or expensive cars.

“Come on Ness, Felix will be here in a sec and you two…or three will have to meet with Aro. They know all about-” She pointed to Dawn squirming in my arms.

“Dawn, his name is Dawn.” She smiled and reached out to touch him but I pulled him away defensively. She furrowed her brow but then smiled apologetically.

“Yes, well they know all about Dawn so it won’t be such a big surprise too them but perhaps they will be by your presence. No one would ever expect in a million years you would come.” She walked ahead of me and lead me too a room filled with dark linens and a rug made of a lions fur.

“This is Felix’s room, so make yourself as comfortable as possible.” A little crib sat in the corner of the room next to a big couch of leather and I growled unexpectedly.

“Can’t I settle somewhere else?” I asked through clenched teeth.

“Ummm…well…I think maybe you should wait for Felix here.” She said looking a little worried. “I have to go but as I said anything you need…just ask.” She made a hasty exit flying past me in a quarter second.

The tock seemed to be teasing me with it’s slow ticking and I could tell Dawn was going to be hungry soon. I didn’t know where my bags were and didn’t know where to even begin looking. It was cold in the room…even for me and I wondered if Dawn was doing any better then I was. He looked at me with impatient eyes showing me that now was about the time to feed him… where was I supposed to go? I called out to Jane twice with no reply and started to get worried. Where the hell had she taken me?

“Jane? Jane!” My voice was shaky and I sounded like I was about to pass out but I called out a couple of more times. No one answered. I set Dawn down in the crib and kissed his cheek lightly. He was as quiet as a mouse which meant he was as scared as I was. I tried to make my voice soothing but all it just ended up coming out erratic and frightened.

“Momma will be back. She’s just going to go outside for a minute. Shhh…don’t make any noise.” I turned away from the crib looking back once as I exited the room closing the door lightly. The hallway was dim and eerie as I strolled helplessly through them searching for any marker or guide. The walls were marked with little hints of dirt, so small only a vampire could see and I tried to find my way using the markings left by the unknowns. As I descended down the stairs a fierce chill raised goosebumps on my skin…could it possibly be getting colder? A big oak door with a slit of light stood at the end of the stairs and my heart sped up with hope, maybe someone was just beyond that door. I hesitated before I opened it wondering what I would say if someone was behind it.

“Felix? Felix!” A named called from behind the door. I pushed it openly quickly trying to swallow my fears and just get it over with. Kind of like ripping a band aid off. Rows and Rows of metal doors replaced the walls of the room. A tiny weathered hand stuck out of one of the wholes in the doors, waving helplessly and franticly.

“Felix? Felix?” The women’s voice called again. “Who’s there? Where’s Felix?” The strain her voice was not impossible to hear.

I stepped up to the steel door half intrigued, half scared to death. Who was this? One bright red eye peered through the whole in the door and I jumped ten feet back hissing and snarling like I never had before. I felt cold hands grip me tightly as I stumbled backwards around someone. I turned around to see Felix glaring at me through shocked and angry crimson eyes.

"What are you doing down here? Who said you can come down here?!!" He asked furiously.

"I-I-I was looking for you." I coughed out about to have heart attack.

"Go upstairs right now." He said quietly and a bit calmer. I didn’t hesitate this time when I fled the room but before I did I heard his quiet whispers.

"It’s okay mother she's gone. She's gone now."

Back in the room my bags were gently laid on the couch and dawn was sucking lightly on a bottle of... Blood! I ran to the crib and snatched the bottle out if his mouth just as Felix entered the room. I stared daggers at his back as he tornadoe’d around the room for something he couldn't find.

"I'll be ba-" He started but I interrupted him.

"NO! What the hell do you think you're doing?! Why did you give him this?" I through the metal bottle at Felix’s head and it ricocheted off onto the floor.

"He’s thirsty! What is he supposed to do starve?" He managed to say through clenched teeth.

"No of course not what kind of mother do you think I am?!" I screeched.

"Well what do you suggest I give him then Ness." He said looking very preoccupied and rushed.

"Food you big dummy!" At this, his eyes nearly bulged out of his sockets which made me even more irritated then before.

"Food?! Food??!! Why would I give him that for?" Felix stuck out his tongue and illustrated an overly disgusted face.

"Because he is still a little human! I don't want to condition him to only drinking blood Felix! He isn't a monster!" My voice was beginning to sound like nails on a chalkboard and the sound of me and Felix yelling started to make Dawn cry.

"Yes Renesmee he is a monster! He's more vampire then anything else! Are you going to deny him his right to feed? He needs blood too you know?!" His eyes were almost pleading and I felt overwhelmed all of a sudden, tired and worn out.

"I need to rest. We both need to rest." I looked over to Dawn who was visibly upset. Felix sighed and closed his eyes. When he opened them they were emotionless and drained.

“I’ll leave you here to sleep." He said turning towards the door again. This time I grabbed his arm to stop him just before he walked out of the room.

"Wait. Who was she? Who was that?" My eyes were the ones pleading this time. I wanted to see if he would answer, I wanted to see how he would answer. I wanted to see hoping that I could be sure that he was changed. Instead he didn't look at me at all; he didn't even turn when he said-

"No one you need to worry about." Something sad in his voice told me that that was all he was going to say. The door shut quietly behind him and I was left staring at absolutely nothing. It was too quiet and Dawn was well aware.

“Momma? No fighting please.” He beat the rails of his crib repeatedly before slumping down on his blanket and falling fast asleep while sucking his thumb. I kissed his forehead and sat next to him on the couch ready to get a little sleep myself. Sometime between laying down and drifting to sleep I heard Felix reenter the room.

“Dream good dreams love.” He whispered and I wondered who he was talking to before my eyes fluttered close.
