A Respected Life

“Well. You see Bella. Demetri and you are under control of a new member that has powers that are extraordinary. She can cause someone to fall in love and when someone is in love they don’t want to leave. They want, or I should say, need, to be with that person or vampire. The reason it could upset you is because you are still a newborn so their emotions are wild, although, your emotions seem to be under an amazing amount of control for a newborn. I wonder how long you can stand to be in a room of blood, though I would prefer not to test that theory out.” Carlisle stated. He turned to Eleazer and mouthed something.

“Do you know your powers, Bella?” Eleazer asked. I shook my head. But then I remembered what Aro had told me about myself. And then I nodded. He nodded as well and then began again.

“Well, according to your powers, you are an essence. There is one extra power that will be found. It has already been discovered but you have not tested it yet. You can control the scents of anyone so if someone tries to track you, you can switch courses.” He told me. I nodded again. I just thought of something that was more then obvious before. I do not love Demetri. He was just someone I could talk to like a big brother. Not a mate but someone I could look up to and someone that could guide me through the toughest times of my boring and dangerous life.

“What are you thinking about Bella?” Eleazer asked me. I looked up at him and noticed that they were both staring at me.

“I just thought of something that you just told me. It is true that I don’t love Demetri. He is like a big brother to me. Not someone I love.” I told them. A smile formed on Carlisle’s face and Eleazer whipped out a phone. He dialed a number that I recognized as Edward’s.

“Edward, would you come here now? I think Bella has something to say to you. Yes, hurry. We are at the castle. Okay, hurry up. Finish that deer and get over here now.” Eleazer said. By the sounds of it, Edward was hunting. Carlisle walked over to me and handed me a paper.

“Edward wanted me to give this to you. He didn’t know if you would want to see him again so he gave this to me so he could tell you something.” Carlisle said. He walked to the wall and leaned against it casually.

I opened the paper and saw Edward’s amazing script on the elegant paper.

Even though you love Demetri, please understand that I will love you no matter what and I am here for you. You will always be the stars of my dark night and I want to be with you. I love you with all my heart and I would like to wish you a happy life. All I want is for you to be happy.

I folded the note back up and placed it delicately in my pocket. I rushed over to Carlisle and gave him a hug. To my surprise, he hugged back.

“I’ve missed you.” I whispered to Carlisle and he squeezed me in a comforting motion.

“I’m glad to have my daughter back. We’ve all missed you so much, Bella. Even Rosalie,” Carlisle said. Rosalie missed me? That is surprising. Even in my blurring human memories I remembered that Rosalie despised me.

I heard the door turn and looked at the Greek god that stood before me. It was Edward. The one I truly loved and would for all eternity. He loved me as well. I swiftly ran to him and he picked me up. He gave me a passionate kiss on the lips. I heard a gasp and turned to see Demetri standing there, heartbroken. It was time to tell the truth.
