Alice's POV

The feeling was like I was being hypnotized and when I looked into her eyes I felt the whole effect. A feeling of complete authority was coming from Bella. She blinked and looked around with a raised eyebrow. Then she closed her eyes. The feeling left and I saw her shake her head. She looked down and everyone came out from their dazed gazes.

"What just happened?" Emmett asked. I could here the hint of humor and curiosity in his voice. He was grinning and mischievousness was in his eyes. It shone like diamonds and Rosalie rolled her eyes.

"Well, it seems this would be her power. She has a power a lot of vampires would die to have. It is mind control. Eleazer had told me he met a newborn with that power and he taught the vampire to control the powers it possessed. Luckily for us, he told me how to train them. It had to do with controlling how she feels. Not emotionally but in the mind. She probably wanted something at this time and was set on it and kept thinking about when she was looking at us. What were you wanting Bella?" Carlisle said and turned to face her. She looked up at him but nothing happened at the moment. He smiled, obviously pleased about something.

"I wanted answers." She said in her bell voice. "I was confused." She said again and Carlisle nodded.

"Well, that would explain it. You seem to be able to control your powers at the moment. It shouldn't take that long to get you to have full control. Now, we need to talk about what happened. Edward, will you do the honors?" Carlisle asked. He nodded but looked weary.

Edward's POV

Don't worry Edward, she doesn't hate you. She's probably just confused and it wasn't your fault you couldn't get to her in time. Trust me. Alice's bagging voice said. I nodded my appreciation to her but I was still worried. She could, no will, hate me. I just know it.

"Well, my family and I were going home because it would be sunny that day and you were sick in class so one of your teachers sent you to go home. A student was late for school and we were just heading out for home. Rosalie and Emmett had gone and we were just leaving when the boy rammed you. It was very icy and he slid. He tried to stop but couldn't. He panicked but when he hit you he died instantly. Jasper and I were watching. I was about to save you when Jasper attacked. He isn't used to the ‘vegetarian' diet as we are and he but. I stopped him and then went to bite. I looked into your eyes and saw I couldn't so I stopped breathing." I told her. I was so apologetic. She looked at me as if thinking it though so I took that chance to talk and apologize.

"I'm so sorry. This wasn't meant to happen. I could have saved you but I didn't. Will you ever forgive me?" I begged her. I knew I loved her. I couldn't deny it at all. It was flat out obvious. She laughed a musical tone. I raised my eye brow.

"I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Why would you apologize for something that wasn't your fault? I would have died any way so you couldn't change fate." She said, still chuckling lightly.

"And I'm sorry too, Bella. I shouldn't have done those actions and I understand if you hate me." Jasper said to Bella. Her eyes snapped at him. She smiled and he visually relaxed but he now looked confused.

"It's obviously in your nature. I don't understand why either of you are apologizing. Wait, what are you and what is a ‘vegetarian diet'?" She asked. I could tell realization just hit her.

"Well, we are vampires, including you now, and a..."Carlisle started but then she burst into laughter.

"A vampire? You have got to be kidding me." She said. I could understand why she was confused. Carlisle nodded and then she looked shocked but then she quickly put on a calm façade.

"Okay, well, a vegetarian diet is when you only drink the blood of animals instead of humans. We are at our third last question of the day. Would you like to join us?" Carlisle asked. She nodded eagerly and I had to suppress and smile.

"Great, now, we noticed you had bruises and markings on your body. Would you mind telling us what they are from?" Carlisle asked hesitantly.

"Um, well, my mom remarried to a guy named Phil. He seemed like a genuine guy at first but then, when my mom started going to work and he would come home for lunch in the summer, he would beat me and make me do things I didn't want to do. He would tell me that if I told my mom I would be hurt and so would my mom. So I had to let it go on to protect my mom. My mom was also so happy with him that I couldn't take that away from her. Then I finally told my mom and Phil I wanted to go live with Char-I mean my dad- for a while and then the beatings got worse. He also did worse things to me." She was dry sobbing by the end and Carlisle had anger written all over his face. So did Emmett. He grew up in a large family and his younger sister was a lot like Bella. He didn't want a little sister to end up in a bad situation .Rosalie and Esme were comforting Bella while I went and got the keys from my room. We got Bella a car for a ‘welcome to the family' gift. We got her a car. It was a Cadillac XLR. It was a black sleek convertible. The roof came off and it was a very fast car. She would make the car look even better.

"I'm sorry we brought that up. I promise it won't happen again unless you want to talk." Carlisle said. He motioned for me to come and talk.

"Bella, we have a ‘welcome to the family' gift for you that we always get someone. It is a car and we were wondering if you would like to see it." I told her. Her eyes widened and I could tell it would take some time to get used to all the money.

We got into the garage and showed her the car. "It's a Cadillac XLR. I wanted one but I wasn't allowed unless it was for another family member so maybe we could go shopping with it. Do you lie it?" Rosalie asked. Bella smiled and nodded.

"You didn't have to buy me such an expensive car you know?" She said. I shook her head.

"Trust me. Rosalie and Alice wouldn't let anyone get away with getting a ‘cheap' car. It has to be at least over fifty thousand dollars for them to approve. Sometimes we have to go shopping without them but this time, it was Alice and Rosalie that bought it so you're lucky they didn't show up with a Lamborghini." Emmett said. Jasper and I chuckled as well as Carlisle. We got death glares from Alice and Rosalie but they turned to Bella and talked about shopping plans.
