A Change in Heart

Klarissa was going through her past in her mind. I was disgusted by the Volturi's thoughts of her. They planned on using her! She needed a better life. I was mostly disgusted by the proximity and thoughts from Alec. She was obviously his mate and that love would grow with the transformation.

I was struggling not to eat the girl. She smelt of fresh, sweet vanilla and made my sense go wild. By Carlisle's thoughts, he was struggling as well. Jasper was having the most trouble. Not Bella, though I thought she would be because of her new born senses. She was an amazing creature. I let my mind comeback to the present and I made sure I didn't attack.

"Who's this?" Carlisle asked. He was wary when he asked. I already knew, because of my powers and I hoped I could save the girl. The fact she accepted their offer was amazing but I could understand it would be better then her past so it was probably like heaven with the Volturi at the moment.

"This, Carlisle, is our future member and if you even think of killing her she will kill you faster then anyone around here can say ‘hi' so I wouldn't even try it." Aro warned. I looked at Alec and noticed he was inching towards Klarissa every second and now had his arm around her waist. He also had a mischievous glint in his eyes that showed lust and protection although it was not needed. She was the most powerful being in the world.

"I see, now, back to business." Carlisle said. Aro nodded and talked about Renesmee being a threat to our society.

"We will now discuss and judge to see if you shall live or die." Aro said and turned to confront his followers. They talked for about five minutes while my family discussed who they would go after if they ended up in a fight. Apparently, a lot of the vampires here would be fighting.

"We have now concluded and we believe that the child shall be destroyed. Anyone in her way shall be destroyed in the act." Aro finalized and then there was arguing. I raced to Klarissa. She looked at me and her eyes turned into a crazy silver and red. The Volturi said they never knew if she had another power but this must be the newest one.

"What do you want?" She barked at me though her voce was angelic and smooth. It took away the violence.

"Do you really want to do this? Do you really want to harm a child that has done nothing wrong? I've read your thoughts. You wish to not harm Renesmee but you want to stay with Alec. Well, how about a deal?" Her eyes softened as she heard me talk but I could still see the determination in her eyes.

"What is your deal?" She asked me, running through the deals that could be possible for a violent person- well vampire- and I wasn't one for violence.

"I will let you stay with our family and Alec can join as long as you do not harm the child and Alec is not a threat to our family." I told her. The fierceness in her eyes returned as she glared at me.

"How is that a deal? What's in it for me?" She asked. I went on and told her the thing she had ever wanted most.

"You would have a caring family and freedom." I told her, her lips twitched and I could see her pearly white teeth.

"Okay, but I don't know if Alec would agree to that." She told me. It was reasonable but I knew otherwise.

"Well, he is listening in on our conversation but he is thinking that he would do anything for you and he wants his freedom too. He wants to stop killing humans. He would do anything for you." I told her. She held out her hand and I took it.

"Okay, deal." She said and then Alec was right beside her with his hands around her waist. He gave her a slight peck on her cheek and for the first time, I saw kindness in his eyes.
