Chapter 8: You Belong To Me

I had just dropped Bella off from our midnight stroll, and was driving home.

Tonight had been amazing, and I didn’t know if I could go the rest of the week without talking to her again. I hadn't even known her for a week, and I already couldn't stand being away from her for long. I didn't know what it was; Bella was like a drug to me. Nothing was going to keep me away; I was one hundred percent addicted.

I hadn’t expected tonight to go so well, and I definitely hadn’t expected to see Bella again. After meeting her at the grocery store, I hadn’t seemed to be able to stop thinking about her.

I had even started playing the piano again..

I pulled into the parking lot to the apartment, lost in my thought of my angel, my Bella.

WOAH! Back up! She wasn’t MY Bella; she was just Bella. Just Bella, with those beautiful brown eyes; she smelled like freesia, and she was perfect. But she wasn’t MY Bella; not yet.

I got out of my Volvo and walked into the apartment building. I opened the door to the apartment I share with Jasper and Emmett, only to find Emmett sitting on the couch; apparently, he was waiting for me.

He stood up, “Edward Anthony Masen! What do you think you’re doing, coming home at two in the morning?” he screamed, walking over to me, “Do you have ANY idea how long I’ve been waiting for you? I’ve been worried sick!”

I rolled my eyes, “I’m sure you have Emmett.”

He started laughing and Jasper walked into the living room, “What in the world is going on out here?”

“Well, I’m just getting home, and Emmett here decided to yell at me for being late because it’s two in the morning,” I looked over to Emmett, who was still laughing, “And might I remind you, I am twenty years old; I can take care of myself. But thanks anyway, DAD.”

He stood up, slightly laughing still, “I was just looking out for you. Besides, I wasn’t really waiting up for you; I was just sitting on the couch playing a video game when I heard you walking down the hall. I was just having a little fun with you, Eddie!”

I sat on the couch and groaned, “Don’t call me that!” He knew I hated it when he called me that. I looked at Jasper, “Remind me again why we’re still friends with him?”

He laughed, “Because.. umm, well I don’t really know why.”

“HELLO! I’m still in the room here,” Emmett yelled again, “And it’s because you know you’d never be able to live without me,” he smiled, crossing his arms are puffing his chest out a little.

Jasper laughed and sat on the couch next to me, “So Edward how was your night with Bella? You seem to be really happy about something.”

I grinned, “It was amazing. As a matter of fact, we have a date next weekend,” I sighed, “Speaking of which; did you know Bella was the girl coming to the bowling alley with us tonight?”

Emmett started jumping up and down like a little kid, “Ooooh! Eddie’s got a date!”

“Shut up Emmett!” Jasper and I yelled together.

Jasper rubbed the back of his head, “Yeah, I kind of did. Alice told me not to tell you; she wanted you guys to be surprised,” he laughed again, “So where are you going to take her?”

“Well, I was definitely surprised,” I groaned, “And I’m not sure yet. I have to call her and figure out all the details.”

Emmett decided to speak again, “So what are you waiting for?”

I rolled my eyes, “Well, it’s currently two in the morning. I do not think she would appreciate me calling her right now; she’s probably sleeping already anyways.”

I ran my hand through my hair; a bad habit I’d picked up from my father over the years. As much as I wanted to talk to her right now, I knew I couldn’t.

Emmett sat in the chair directly across from the TV, “Alright, so call her tomorrow,” and he picked up the video game controller again.

I stood up, “Okay, I’ll call tomorrow,” I sighed, “I’m heading to bed guys; see you tomorrow.”

“Night,” Jasper and Emmett said together.

And I walked to my room and closed the door. I turned my music on and lied on the bed. I just let the music flow through the room while I let my thoughts run through my mind.

I couldn’t stop thinking about her; especially not after tonight. I had an amazing time with Bella, and I didn’t ever want it to end.

I had decided was going to call her sometime the next day; there was no doubt about that.

And for the first time in a long time, I was excited about something. I had a date with Bella Swan.

I was driving home from work after a long shift at the bookstore when my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID, thinking it might be Alice or Rose, but I didn’t recognize the phone number.

I answered the phone, wondering who’d be calling me, “Hello?”

“Hello Bella,” Edward’s deep voice surprised me.

I hadn’t expected a call like this, “Hello Edward. How are you?”

“I’m fine, how about yourself?” he replied.

“I’m great,” I practically yelled into the phone.

“So how about that date you promised me,” his voice made me smile.

I continued to smile, “When would you like to go out? We can plan everything right now.”

I had to admit, I was excited about my date with Edward. I didn’t think it could get any better than this; just the thought of spending more time with him made me happy.

“Perfect,” he replied, simply, “How about I pick you up Friday night. How does seven o’ clock sound?”

I smiled, “Perfect.”

And so, our date was planned.

“Bella, stop complaining and sit still,” I head Rosalie yell from the living room.

I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest, “Fine. I should already know there’s no stopping the pixie once the Bella Barbie sessions start,” I sighed.

Rose walked into the bathroom holding a pile of clothes, “It’s about time you realize it.”

“Honestly Bella, I don’t see what your problem is,” Alice sighed, “You know we’re only trying to help you.”

We went through this every time Alice and Rose tried to ‘help’ me. I’m not going to lie; they really do a good job making me look good. I just wished I didn’t have to go through the Bella Barbie sessions all the time.

“I know, I know,” I sighed in defeat, “Just work that pixie magic and get this done so I can leave.”

I smiled. It was finally Friday night, and tonight was my date with Edward. He called me Monday night, and we decided tonight would be the perfect night for our date.

Edward had called me every single night since then. We talked about everything that came to our minds. I learned a little about Edward playing the piano, although I still didn’t know why I was the thing that got him to start playing again. And I told him a little more about myself; mostly about what I want to do with my future.

I loved talking to Edward; I couldn't stand being away from him. And when we weren't talking, it was always like there was something missing. I didn't know what it was, but it was almost like I was drawn to him; I couldn't get enough.

I found myself smiling at the thought of Edward, while Alice was still getting me ready for the night. I had been lost in my thoughts for so long, I hadn’t even realized she was almost done with my hair and makeup.

Alice brought me out of my thoughts, “Okay Bella, I’m done,” she smiled.

I turned around to look in the mirror, and shocked at what I saw; I looked beautiful, “Thank you Alice.”

“No problem Bella,” she laughed, “You know, you should really think about the outcome of these makeovers before you start complaining about them next time.”

She said this almost every time we did this; I never listened.

Rosalie was still standing in the doorway, “Okay! Time to get dressed,” she help up the clothes she had brought with her.

I grunted, “Alright, what do you have for me?”

She smiled, “Follow me,” and she walked out of the bathroom, heading for my room.

Alice followed close behind, jumping up and down like a little kid on Christmas morning, “I’m so excited Bella! This is going to be PERFECT.”

Rose placed the clothes on my bed, spreading everything out so I could see what she picked out. Apparently, I was going to wear a dark blue dress; it was about knee length, and it was gorgeous. There were skinny straps, and the neckline was a little low for my taste, but I instantly fell in love with it.

I smiled to myself, “Thank you Rose; this is beautiful.”

She smiled back at me, “Alice helped pick it out; blue is perfect for you. Now go put it on so we can see.”

Alice pushed me into the bathroom again, throwing some underwear and the dress at me. I had to admit, they knew exactly what I liked when it came to picking out clothes; they just didn’t always listen to me.

I put the dress on and looked in the mirror. It looked great on me, and I absolutely loved it. It fit perfectly, and I was sure Edward’s jaw was going to drop when he saw this.

I walked back into my bedroom; Alice and Rose were sitting on my bed laughing at something one of them said. As soon as they saw me, they both smiled and stood up.

“You look beautiful Bella,” Alice said as she danced over to me.

Rose was right behind her, “Damn! You look hot Bella. Edward is going to be speechless when he sees you tonight.”

I blushed, “Thanks again guys. I don’t know what I’d do without you two.”

Alice chuckled, “You wouldn’t be able to live without us, and you know it.”

Just then, the doorbell rang.

I looked at the clock. Six forty five, “He’s early.”

Alice looked back at me, “That’s okay; you’re ready anyways.”

Rose left the room to answer the door, “Hello Edward. Bella will be here in just a moment. Why don’t you come in and have a seat?” I heard her in the living room.

I walked out of my bedroom, into the hallway. As I walked into the living room, Edward stood up turned around to look at me.

He walked over to me, grabbing my hand, “You look absolutely stunning Bella,” and he kissed the back of my hand.

I blushed, “Thank you Edward. You’re looking pretty good yourself,” I replied, although he always looks good.

Edward looked at me, grinning crookedly, “Are you ready for our date?”

“Absolutely,” I picked up my purse and grabbed Edward’s jacket; I still had his jacket from last weekend. I had told him about it over the phone, but he had said to keep it until our date.

“Bye Alice. Bye Rose.” I yelled as we were getting ready to head out the door.

They both laughed, “Bye Bella. Have fun!”

I pulled Edward’s jacket on, and we headed out the door.

I smiled as Edward wrapped his arm around my waist. We walked out of the apartment building, and Edward started making his way over to a silver Volvo that was sitting in the parking lot.

Something clicked in my head about that car. I hadn’t noticed it last weekend; I was a little occupied at the time, and I hadn’t even realized what kind of vehicle he drove.
