“What’s for breakfast?” Elise’s Dad Phillip asked, as Elise trudged down the stairs.
“Oh, I don’t know. We’re out of milk.”
“Bacon?”
“Sorry, we’re out of that to.” Elise replied.
"Oh."
"Eggs?" Elise held up a box of eggs, as the broken remains dripped out the packet onto the floor. "Ew." She set the box down, then sweeped it into the bin, after having second thoughts about being able to salvage anythying.
"Don't worry about it. I'll do the floor, go and clean yourself up." Phillip said, glancing at the eggy mess dripping down her front.
"Err... Yeah, thanks." She said, running up the stairs.
Elise burst through her bedroom door, cursing her rumbling stomache, when suddenly she came to a stop. Her bed had changed. It had been made. She never made her bed, and Phillip couldn't have done it because he was with her...downstairs. Away from her room. And yet there she was, staring at her neatly made bed. It didn't have a crease. Who had done this she wondered? Elise could never make a bed this neat of she tried. She went to walk around her bed, to make her way to the bathroom, when she tripped over a discarded pair of trainers.
"Whooa!" Elise all but screamed. "where did you guys come from?" She lay sprawled on the floor, looking at hers shoes, all lines up at the end of her bed with unbelievable precision. Climbing back on to her feet, which wasn't the easiest thing for Elise to do, she decided to forget her bed, her shoes and her growling stomache and just get to school. After changing out of the eggy shirt she was wearing.

As usual, perfectly on time, Ali pulled up in her shiny silver convertable.
"Morning Elise!" She yelled up the drive (which was only 5m. long). Ali could only just be heard over the roar of the engine.
"Hey! Thanks for the lift." Elise yelled back, slamming the front door, and climbing into the car.
"Very elegant Elise."
"As always." Elise grinned back.
"I'm not sure your dress sense really goes with your umm... Elegance and graceful element." Ali chuckled, taking in Elise's flowery mini skirt.
"Yeah, well." Elise blushed making Ali gasp.
"A boy?!"
"Maybe..." Elise answered. Should she confinde in Ali? Sure, she could keep a secret, but could she handle a secret this big? Could she handle the who part of her secret? Would she freak out? He was the ultimate god, and Elise ahd to have him.
"So, anyone i know?" Ali would keep on untill she was either told who it was or told it was none fo her business and to mind her own. Either way, it meant Elise would have to decide. "Is it Mike?" Ali asked, inturrpting her thoughts.
"Well, no." Elise replyed, still torn. She hated deciding things.
"Sam? Luke? Josh?"
"No, no, and er.. no." Ali's eyes widened.
"That new guy?!" It was new good. The moment anyone mentioned Lorenzo, Elis'e face flushed bright pink.
"Ohmygod! It is! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Well... I was going to speak to him first."
"That would be an achievement." Elise picked up on the sourness, the harshness suddenyl in Ali's voice.
"How do you mean?" Elise was slightly confused. He always greeted her with a warm smile. Those gwntle but piercing eyes that saw straight through her into her soul. She was sure there was something. She just needed to establish what.
"Well. Don't tell me you havn't noticed? How he will never talk to anyone."
"But"
"Yeah, apart from you Elise. He always talks to you! He has every girl in the school after him, and yet he chooses you. He's interested in plain little Elise!"
Elise had no idea... If looks could kill, she would be dead right there. She sat in the passengers seat of her car, before slowly turning and wispering,
"I'll talk to him, ok?"
"You do that anyway." Was the response her oh-so-helpfull best friend gave me. A very sharp, sour response.
"You know what i mean." Elise snapped back.
"I do. I know. It's just..."
Elise gasped with sudden realisation.
"You like him?!"
"I guess.." Was the non-committed answer.
"Aww honey! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"I thought you wouldn't..."
"Of course that now changes everything! It's ok, i understand, i won't speak to him now."
Ali looked pained, and gave a little grunt of anger.
"No! That's exactly why i didn't say anything! I don't want you to sacrifice him for me. Me who doesn't stand a chance. But you, you do."
"But wouldn't it be hard for you... If something were to happen between us, wouldn't it be hard for you to watch?"
"It would be harder for me to watch you be unhappy."
"Thanks Ali." Elise leaned over, and gave her friend the biggest hug she could muster, truly grateful to have someone so wonderful and considerate at her side.
"Hey, it's alright. But you can get off me now. We're here." Elise sat back in her seat, preparing what she was going to say to Lorenzo as Ali pulled into school. She has to get it just right. ALi patted her leg.
"Go for it honey. No matter what you say, it'll work out. Just swing those hips of yours."
"Oi!" Elise threw Ali's hand back in her own lap, and climbed out fo the car.
"Here goes nothing." She thought to herslef, and she strode off into school, swinging her hips.
