Nighthanger

Summary:
Okay guys, here's me doing my bit for the world of literature, for better or for worse! Elise, a confused, love struck typical teen has plenty to deal with when her world has been turned upside down, inside out and round in circles. Will she be abel to pull through at the end? Or will it all fall helplessly through? If it does, how will she be left?

“Elise. Elise. Elise!” An irritated voice, but strangely familiar. “Honey please look at me. Open your eyes if you can. Elise?”
Oh go away. Let me die in peace, please. Maybe I should tell the, try and turn over… OW! Jeasus, my side. Is someone trying to tear me apart?
“She’s trying to move. Help her.”
What?! No! Don’t touch me! I sit up as fast as I can, shooting up staright, just as my side tore open. I could feel the blood rushing out. My hands flew to my side. I was going to bleed to death. What a way to die. Well I might as well die comfortably… Now to find someones soft and gentle arms to lie in… I ease my eyelieds open, slowly, ignoring the blood flowing from my side. I’m in a hospital. How did I get here? I… I… Where am I meant to be? It’s all so blurry. There’s… Who is that? He’s beautiful. He looks like… Lorenzo. But not. Who is he? How can… No. Lorenzo didn’t have a family. He said they died a long tie ago. So who? A doctor? No, wait there’s the doctor over… If I could try and turn… OW!!! My side! Holy S*** Mother F***** W****** little C***! I throw my hands to my side once again, my eyes whipping wide open, staring at the blood gushing over my fingers… But there’s no blood. Not even a scratch. But the pain? What’s wrong with me? Don’t they know how much pain I’m in? Why are they just standing there? And with that, everything went black.

When I awake, the room’s dark. Pitch black. I can’t see anything… Where’s the light switch? I get up to find the lights, and fall in a heap on the floor as my legs give way.
“Hello Elise.” A smooth , silky voice, perfectly calm. I can’t see who it is, but the voice… It is strangely familiar. Ugh, I sigh, where have I said that before? A firm grip under my arm pulls me up, startled. It’s like they’re a friend, holding me up.
“I think I owe you an explanation from when you saw me yesterday.”
“Yesterday?” What’s he on about? Isn’t it still Wednesday?
“It Thursday. 3:15 in the morning exactly to be precise.” He said it all without so much as a glance at a watch. And yet, craning my neck round him to see the alarm clock glowing in the night, he was exactly right. Weird.
“Lorenzo will be coming back.”
“He’s not gone for good?”
“No. How much about… Our kind do you know? Did Lorenzo tell you anything?”
“No, not really. He… he said I smell good. Tempting, I think.”
“Ah. Did he bite you?”
“What, no! We’re not even going out!” I blushed a deep red, realising what he meant, after all, they are vampires.
“Oh. No, I don’t think so. How would I know if he’d bitten me in my sleep?”
“Oh you’d know all right. Your insides would be burning; you’d be in total agony for days. And when the devastating pain went, for the first little while, all you would crave is Human blood.
I think I must have gone a bit pale because he sat me in a chair and murmured a quiet sorry.
“I don’t… I don’t think I was bitten. I mean, I’ve got the agonising pain, but I don’t want to kill the doctor, or you.”
“I’m not Human Elise.”
“You’re not? So you’re like Lorenzo?”
“Yes.”
“Oh.”
“Mm.”
I chewed on my lip, unsure whether to ask or not.
“Err…” I stalled. I didn’t actually know his name. “What’s your name?”
“Oh yes, sorry, I’m Marcus.”
“Ok, nice to meet you. When, when is Lorenzo coming back?”
“Before I tell you, you need to understand a few things.”
“Okay, I’m listening.”
