I don't know how long I sat in the dark cold forest for. I curled up under a tree and tried to sleep. My body was exhausted and I did eventually fall asleep, though not without trouble. There were the dreams.

I was in a wood, but not the creepy one that I slept in. this one smelt like salt, and pine. I was sitting on a rock. There was a snap somewhere deep in the woods. I turned but whatever it was, moved to quickly to be seen by me. A growl. A huge russet wolf that I instantly knew was Jacob was prowling across the clearing I sat in. he was near me but I couldn't move. I felt his hot breath on me.
"Leave wolf. This girl is not yours," said a musical voice. I turned and saw a pale Adonis walking across the clearing from the opposite side. The wolf snarled and bared its teeth.
"It's her decision, not yours" the wolf crouched in front of me.
"Help!" I shouted at the man.
"She has chosen. Now leave" the man crouched in a primal stance, I could tell he was intent on killing the wolf.
"NO!" I don't know why I wanted to protect the monster. Maybe because it was Jacob and I couldn't think of him not around. I jumped in front of the wolf and the man froze.
"You have made a decision and must stick by it" then he was gone. I was alone with the wolf who now started to paw the ground behind me. I sat at the base of the rock and started to cry.

I sat up. I was alone in the forest and it was pitch black. But there was a noise. I turned and saw...the pale Adonis of my dreams. He'd looked familiar. Then he stepped into my light. It was Edward Cullen.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I went for a walk at night. I do it often. And you?"

"None of your business" I muttered. He sat next to me.

"Probably not. I was just wondering"

"If I leave you in the middle of a freezing cold forest and you die of hypothermia, does that make me a murderer?" I scowled at him.

"If I tell you why I'm here, will you leave me alone and forget about me?"

"Unlikely. But you can try"

"Fine. My parents were yelling at each other and I ran to my friend's house. I told you that bit already. So, my best friend's dad decided I shouldn't stay. Something happened that scared me and I ran into the road. My parents were coming down that road and they swerved to avoid me. They hit a tree...the car was on fire. I ran home and my friend tried to take me back to his house. I was angry and afraid so I ran off and into the woods. And now I'm here"

"What scared you?"

"You said that something scared you into running into the road. What was it?"

"I can't tell you"

"Well, after hearing that. I've decided I'm not going anywhere. At least until you agree to come with me so I can get you somewhere to sleep. It can't be comfortable you here"

"No" I said.

"Please Bella? Please come with me?" I was tired and I felt the world spinning slightly so I groaned and nodded in defeat. I tried to get up but I couldn't, so Edward scooped me up and carried me to his car, which wasn't far away. I was asleep as soon as my head touched the soft leather seats.
