I can't believe it was really him. My older brother. My best friend. It just didn't seem real. I didn't even hear one of his brothers say that we should probably get back to school, but Jasper did. He let go of me and tried to pry off my arms from around his neck, but it was energy wasted.

"Lissy." He whined. "We have to get back to school."

"No way." I said still clinging to his neck. "I haven't seen you in 157 years. There's no way I'm letting go now."

He couldn't object to that, so he just grabbed my arms and swung my body around, so that I was on his back.

"I feel like I'm seven." I laughed.

I looked toward his brothers. They were both staring at me. What? I thought towards the mind reader.

"Your scars." he answered.

As soon as he said that I felt Jasper stiffen. I looked down, and saw on his neck dozens of crescent shaped scars. I looked down at my hand. We had the same pattern etched onto our skin. I shuddered when I thought about how we got them.

"It's okay." the mind reader said. "It's over now. By the way I'm Edward and this is Emmett" he said gesturing to the grinning vampire that reminded me of Felix.

"I'm..." I started to say my name, but Jasper cut me off.

"Lillian Elisabeth Whitlock." he finished for me. "But family can call her Lissy."

"Well, Lissy, we have a lot to learn about each other." he said while we started to run back towards the school. "But now we have some explaining to do."

I looked up to see the school campus almost deserted. Wow, lunch hour is up already. I zeroed in on a group of five people standing by a silver Volvo and a big jeep. As we neared the group Jasper loosened my grip from around his neck and swung me down so that we were only holding hands. I started to get nervous as we neared the group that were standing by the two cars. I tightened my grip on Jasper's hand without consciously thinking about.

"Ow." he muttered. "Take it easy, Lissy."

"Sorry." I murmured.

We had reached the rest of his family by now. Emmett went to stand next to the most beautiful vampire I had ever seen. She had billows of golden hair that flowed to the middle of her back. Edward went to stand next to a girl with billows of brown hair that framed her face. Jasper was looking into the eyes of a very petite girl with spiky black hair and a huge grin on her face, his mate, I bet.

Jasper cleared his throat and began to speak. "Everyone I'd like you to meet my little sister, Lissy."

They all stared at me as they heard the words ‘little sister' fall into the conversation.

"Um, hi." I mumbled.

Everything was silent until a man with blonde hair and a slight English accent spoke. "Well, it seems like we have a lot to learn about each other, but let's talk somewhere more private."

Edward and the girl with brown hair jumped into the backseat of the jeep. Emmett and the blonde followed them and sat in the front. I looked up at Jasper and he gave me an encouraging smile as he opened the door of the backseat of the Volvo. Jasper followed me in, and the pixie like girl got in on my other side.

"Lissy, this is my wife, Alice. Alice, this is my little sister, Lissy." he said.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"We are going to have so much fun together!" she squealed.

I didn't notice until now what she was wearing. It was ALL designer. This could be fun.

I turned to her and gave her the biggest grin I could manage before we were squealing and hugging.

Jasper and the man driving groaned in unison.

"What am I missing?" I asked.

"Dealing with Alice is enough, but now you just add to the burden." the man upfront sighed.

"This is my adopted father, Carlisle, and his wife, Esme." said Jasper.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." smiled Esme while reaching back to shake my hand.

"The pleasure is mine, ma'm." I said in my resurfaced southern accent.

She just beamed back at me.

"Nice to meet you, Carlisle." I smiled warmly from the back.

"Nice to meet you too." he smiled in the rear view mirror. "Welcome to our home."

I stepped out of car after Jasper, and my mouth dropped. It was beautiful. It was BIG. The Victorian style house was painted a light blue and with white trim.

"You live here." I whispered.

"Esme has a passion for design." Jasper explained.

I didn't realize I hadn't closed my mouth until Emmett walked by me and shut it for me. He immediately took on the role of my older twin brothers I had from my human life.

"You'll get used to it." Alice reassured me.

"You don't." Edward countered as he walked past me.

"Well, now my only other option is to fight back." I said with a devious smile on my face.

"Ooo... I'm so scared." Emmett called from the porch.

"Don't encourage her, Emmett." Jasper said in a wry tone back to him. "You'll just make it worse. Nothing stops her once she gets started."

"We'll see about that." Emmett muttered as he walked through the doorway.
