Above Thy Deep and Dreamless Sleep
Summary:
Companion to Snow Angels, although it's not necessary to read that one first. Written in the same alternate style about Bella during the December of New Moon. Feedback would be appreciated ^_^

Above Thy Deep and Dreamless Sleep…
By: Natilie Sawada
Companion to “Snow Angels”
A/n: Takes place during the December of New Moon
I got a good response for my other story from this time “Snow Angels” so I decided to try another in the same style.
I really don’t know whether or not this one is good/better or not, but I really like this style. It forces me to get deeper into Bella’s head—into her subconscious even, rather than just skim along the surface, because with this style, I don’t have to describe settings, motions, or other things, I can focus on symbolism and hidden meanings ^_^ It like getting to write poetry in a story form. I really like it.
Well, thank you and enjoy!

“O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight”

-O Little Town of Bethlehem
----------------------------------------------------------------
Wake up screaming.
Just like always.
Open your eyes and let it go.
Alarm clock flashes in the dark.
1:00 AM
1:00 AM
1:00 AM
On December 25th
Christmas.
Hmm.
You should go back to sleep.
Too cold. Left the window open. Shouldn’t have done that. Can’t help it.
Left the window open.
Always leave the window open.
Open the door, walk out into the hall.
Shh. Don’t wake Charlie.
All for him. Try for him.
Why are you walking down stairs? Doesn’t make sense.
What am I doing?
Stand in the living room.
Christmas tree lights so bright in the dim room.
Blink. Blink.
Presents under the tree.
Don’t want presents. Never did. Flinch.
Never got a Christmas with him. Flinch.
January to September.
Sit on the couch staring at the tree. Too bright.
Star on top, just like always.
“…without the dark, we would never see the stars…”
Flinch.
Look out the window. No stars tonight. No moon.
Just clouds. Just darkness. Like always.
Like me.
Clouds on my Christmas morning without him. Flinch.
Lay your head down on the couch.
Stare at the too bright tree in the darkened room.
Used to be a bright light in the darkness.
No stars anymore.
So quiet. So dark.
No stars, no moon, no sound.
Close your eyes and morning will come soon enough.
Just like every other day.
What’s the point?
Your promise. Keep your promise. Flinch.
Close your eyes and morning will come soon enough.
~The End~
Idk, tell me if it lived up to “Snow Angels” or if you haven’t read the other, how you liked this one in general ^_^
And do you guys think I should do another with this style? I mean I probably will write another one anyway, because its so much fun to write, but just whether or not there is enough interest for me to post it here.
Well let me know!
-blows kisses- Love you all!
