Chapter 17- just a dream
'Mommy! Help me.' Again I heard the voice in my head...
Seth jumped into the woods. I tore off my hoodie sleeve and tied it around Buster's paw. It was my favorite hoodie. It was a light green with dark green words that read, ‘FORKS’. The next think I hear is a howl. I scoop Buster up in my arms. I don’t want a hungry wolf to think Buster’s an easy meal. I heard Leah sigh beside me. I looked over at her and she sighed again.
“Come on. I have something I need to show you.” She started walking into the woods and I followed her slowly. I heard the howl again but it was farther in the woods.
“Leah. I don’t think following a wolf is the smartest thing to do.” She kept walking like she didn’t even hear me. After a few more yards, she spoke.
“That’s part of the secret. The wolf is…” she sighed again, her face showing her emotions. She didn’t want to tell me. “Is Seth.”
I snorted. “You think I’m going to believe that Seth is a wolf? You guys probably thought ahead and are planning to scare me.” Leah sighed again.
“That’s why I’m going to show you. But don’t freak out on me.” As she spoke, she started to take off her clothes.
“Leah! What are you doing?!”
“Proving to you that Seth’s a wolf. I’m a wolf and Jacob’s a wolf!” She yelled back at me. Moments later, a grey wolf was where Leah once stood. I gulped.
“No. This isn’t possible. You can’t be a wolf.” Leah snorted. She turned and started to walk through the brush, knowing I would follow along.
When she stopped, my arms throbbed from carrying Buster. Buster leaped out of my arms onto three legs and growled. I looked around and I was surrounded by six huge wolves. I swayed a little and Leah stuck her head behind me so I wouldn’t fall.
“How is this possible?” I mumbled to myself. A red brown wolf stepped forward and Buster growled and barked
‘Stay away! Don’t come any closer!’ Buster was growling. I rubbed at my temples, wishing that this was all a bad dream and I could wake up in the Cullen’s house.
Then I collapsed! On my way to the ground, three things happened at once.
One, the russet brown wolf took three steps forward. Two, Buster sprang at it.And three, I bashed my head on a tree limb.
When I woke up, I realized I was too comfortable to be in the woods where I fell. I opened my eyes and saw a ceiling fan. Leah’s room didn’t have a ceiling fan so I wondered were I was. I looked to my left and there was a light blue wall. I looked to my right and saw the rest of my bedroom, at the Cullen’s house.
Then I heard Alice yell, “Bella! Do you want to be late on the first day of school?” The first day of school? I couldn’t have dreamt the whole wolves thing up, could I?
I looked at my clock, August 19th. The first day of school. I had to have dreamt the whole thing up. I sighed and shook my head. I dressed into a light orange top and some long jeans.
As I walked down the stairs into the kitchen, I was still thinking of my ‘dream’. I didn’t really think that I dreamt the whole thing. I ate in silence, pondering the detail of my dream. As I was leaving, Buster trotted out of the woods, a green hoodie sleeve was tied around his front paw that was in the air…
