Rating 4.5/5   Word Count 601   Review this Chapter

Clouds blocked out the sun the day Bella went home. When Bella got to the door she walked in, slightly afraid. She didn’t know where her step-dad, Phil, was hiding.

“Phil?” Bella called out warily. No answer. She called out again, and peeked into the kitchen. After she stepped into the kitchen she heard a creak in the hallway. She ran out the kitchen and raced to her room. Phil wasn’t far behind her.

“Mommy. Please don’t let him. I promise I’ll be a good girl. Please No!” Bella begged as she ran into her room. She dived under her bed and begged for her mom to stop him. But as usual her mom just walked into the kitchen and got a bottle of vodka. Phil came through the door and grabbed Bella’s hair and pulled her out from under the bed. She screamed in pain because she still had stitches from where she fell and it was really sore.

“Get out of there you little brat!” Phil growled as he pulled harder. Bella came out from under the bed and he grabbed her throat and held her to the wall. He pressed harder and harder. He laughed as her face gradually got bluer and then changed to purple. Bella’s eyes grew big. He never pushed her this hard and she though that she was going to die. Phil slapped her in the face and let her fall to the ground. Bella gasped for air but when she breathed out, Phil kicked her in the stomach. Bella was, yet again, winded and she couldn’t breathe. Bella started crying and so Phil kicked her again and yelled, “Why are you crying you idiot. Be Quiet!”

Bella whimpered but then hushed when she saw Phil’s face. Phil lifted up his boot and pressed on her stitches. Tears streamed down Bella’s face but she stayed quiet.

“No supper for you tonight.” He told her as he pressed down harder on her head. Then he turned away and left her on the floor, gasping for air.

The next morning was a Saturday and Bella got up early. Partly because she always got up early to watch cartoons and partly because her stomach was growling so loudly it woke her up. She tip-toed into the living room and saw that no one was in the living room. She snuck into the kitchen and looked into the fridge. Nothing was in there. She looked at the fridge in confusion.

She tip-toed to her parents room and looked in. Her mom was in the bed, but her step-dad wasn’t. Bella started to breathe faster. She stepped in and looked around. In the corner of the room was a mini fridge. She walked over there as quietly as she could. Bella opened the fridge and peeked in. All the food was in the mini fridge. Her stomach growled again and she grabbed some bologna. She headed out toward the kitchen when she realized she forgot Billy in her room.

So Bella turned around and headed toward her room. When she got in her room she searched her bed. Billy wasn’t there!

She searched all over her room. Then someone cleared there throat in a corner where her rocking chair was.

“Edward?!” She said excitedly, twirling around. Her smile dropped immediately when she saw it was Phil…

“Who’s Edward?” Phil asked.

“N-no o-one.” Phil stood up.

“Don’t Lie To Me Girl!” Phil yelled as he grabbed her hair and through her to the ground. He started kicking her, over and over again. Yet, Bella never revealed who Edward, her angel, was...

This happened every day for eight years.
