Edward’s P.O.V. (from chapter 4-5)

Edward? Will you go shopping with me? Jazzy is going…’ Alice begged in her head. I sighed. If I didn’t go today, she would ask tomorrow. I heard a squeal from up-stairs. I sighed again when she game rushing down the stairs, pulling Jasper behind her.

Why?’ Was all he asked. A smirk appeared on my face, I was about to talk to him when Alice had a vision, so my eyes went blank for a moment, as my mind was in the future. A little, well not really little, girl ran in front of my car in the drive way entrance. She just stared at me, then lurched forward when the dogs she was walking ran ahead of her. Her stomach gargled the whole time.

“Shopping is off.” She told Jasper and he sighed in relief and ran back up-stairs. Then she turned to me, “You have exactly 1 minute to get up there.” I ran to my car and drove to the drive entrance. Like I knew, the girl appeared. She looked at me curiously, and I looked back into her eyes. ‘My silly little girl!’ I thought incredibly. I breathed in and my eyes turned pitch black. Venom filled my mouth and I almost jumped out of the window to get to her, but then she jerked forward running to catch up to her dogs. I followed slowly behind her.

When she got to the house I remembered her heart started beating fast. She opened the door and a thought came into my head.

There’s my slave. About time to.’ A man scoffed. I tried to listen to the girl but she was mute. I drove up and down the block until I heard the girl thrown down the stairs. I tried desperately to control my anger. I waited to make sure she was okay and when her breathing evened out, I left for home.

In the morning, I drove over to Bella’s house. I glanced over to the window and saw her duck down. I jumped up to the second story and went in through an open window. I tried to listen to what she was thinking, but I still heard nothing. I stepped down the stairs onto a squeaky part on the floor. I froze. The girl froze. Then her heart rate started to speed up. I walked in and she was on all fours. She looked up strangely at me.

"Come on. I'm taking you now." I said as gently as I could. She stood up with my help. She was very hesitant. Eyeing my carefully.

"It's okay. I won't hurt you. And no one else will either when you’re with me." I told her, then I lifted her up bridle style. It was almost unbearable. To have her throat this close to my mouth. Venom filled quickly in my mouth. I swallowed it down, but I could force out the picture of my sucking her dry, quenching the burn in my throat for an hour or more. To have her blood run smoothly down my throat and pool in my stomach…

I simply stopped thinking and breathing for that matter. I took her up-stairs and walked to the window that was open. She got really tense so I tightened my grip on her warm body.

“Close you eyes.” I told her. She obeyed slowly, as if not trusting me. I jumped out smoothly and ran to my house. I got in and yelled for Carlisle and Esme. They came rushing in. I let Bella onto the floor and she knelt down and started stuttering like crazy. I couldn’t really focus because Esme was crying in her head. Then she was about to lose it so she left the room.

Her stomach growled loudly and Carlisle asked her something, but I couldn’t hear because I was trying to will her to say what she used to say, ‘My Silly Angry Angle.’ I followed them into Carlisle’s study and placed my hand on Bella’s back. She breathed in sharply and I dropped my hand.

"Take your shirt off, please." She did and there were sores all over her back.

Go Edward. This will be hard for you.’ Carlisle told me. I nodded and left. I went running so I didn’t have to smell her. I caught scent of Jasper so I went off in his direction.

“Hey Jasper.” I said when I got to where he was. He looked up and nodded in greeting. As soon as I walked into the clearing I felt horrible.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him. He tried to rein in his feelings but he couldn’t.

“I just couldn’t do it. I- I wanted her. I know Alice would be there for me if I did screw up, but she wants this… this is the closest thing to a kid she’ll ever have. I can’t ruin that for her.” He said in a rush. It took me a second to realize what he meant.

“You won’t screw up. Even I had a hard time. It’s the fact that she’s so close.” I paused, feeling his mood change a little, “Wanna go hunt?” I asked him. He nodded and we went hunting for deer.

When we got done I told him, “Just don’t freak out okay? You ARE strong enough to have control.” Pleasure radiated out of him. He went and hung out in the living room while I went back to Carlisle’s study.

When I walked in I heard Bella gasp and say, “My silly angry angel.” I thought my dead heart was going to explode. My head snapped into her direction.

“What?” I asked in a rush.

“N-nothing.” She stuttered looking down. It killed me inside that she was this afraid. But I don’t know why I was so concerned.

Alice came in with food that smelled horrible, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Bella. Then, the next thing I knew, Alice was pushing me out. I looked at her, confused.

‘She’s petrified of us. Especially you and Carlisle. Let me do this… for her.’ I nodded and went for a run down by Bella’s house.

‘WHERE IS SHE? THE LITTLE SNEEK. HA WELL IF SHE THOUGHT IT WAS BAD BEFORE, IT WILL BE WORSE WHEN SHE GETS BACK.’ I heard in my head. Then a lot of noise like someone knocking things over in search for something.

I sat there and listened to this man for a lot longer than what I wanted to. I ran back home and got there in time to see Bella curl up in a ball on the floor.

“What are you doing?” Esme asked.

“G-going to s-sleep.” She said looking at her confused.

“No. you’ll go to sleep in Edwards room. He can sleep on the couch.” She said looking at me.

“N-no. I’ll sleep h-here.” She insisted, curling back up into a tight ball that wouldn’t be comfortable to anyone.

“No. You will not.” I told her and I gently lifted her up and flew up to my room. As soon as I sat her down under the covers, she fell into a restless sleep. All throughout the night she would twist and turn. Sweat would bead on her forehead and I would wake her up. She would look so scared then feel the covers and fall back into the same fitful sleep, where her heart would beat to fast and she was about to hyperventilate. Then I would rush back in and wake her.

“Son,” Carlisle called to me. I went to him. “We can’t keep her. We don’t, by law, have any right to keep her.” If I had a heart it would have stopped. I tried to figure out a way that we could but couldn’t. Carlisle must have seen that because he said, “There is no way. We have to take her back home tomorrow.” He placed a hand on my shoulder but shook it off and ran to my room, where I watched her until she woke up.

When she did wake, her stomach, again, growled. She looked around and when she saw me, I smiled.

“Hungry?” I asked. She nodded.

“Good. Come with me.” I held out my hand for her to touch it. I felt a small hand curl there fingers into mine and I felt a fire ignite my hand. I didn’t realize it yesterday. I led her to the kitchen where Esme, Carlisle, Alice and Emmett were making breakfast. I didn’t realize that Emmett would scare her until he did. When she saw him she froze. She began to shake and I didn’t want her to be scared.

“That’s just Emmett. Won’t hurt you either. I swear.” I told her, grinning. I heard her heart stutter and it scared me, but then she blushed and I smiled. She looked so cute when she blushed.

“Hello, Bella. Breakfast is ready.” Esme said lifting a frying pan and scrapped what was in it, eggs I think, on a plate. Bella licked her lips and we walked over to our island and she sat down on a tall stool.

I watched her eat in satisfaction. Knowing that this will probably be the last decant meal she’ll have in a long time.

After she ate and thanked Esme, Carlisle and Emmett, I took her into the living room and had her sit down on the couch. This was going to be harder than I thought…

Bella’s P.O.V.

Edward was so serious when he sat me on the couch. His straight face looked deadly.

“Bella, I need to talk to you.” Edward started. “We, we have to, to take you b…back. We can’t keep you.” All the blood drained from my face. My heart beat faster and I couldn’t breath.

“W-why? I-I’ll be g-good. I s-swear. Y-you won’t e-even notice I-I’m h-here.” I begged, not wanting to go back to my nightmare.

‘We don’t have legal custody over you. But I promise, no I swear, I’ll get you out of there.” He grabbed my shoulders as he said this. And then I did something I wish I didn’t do. I cried. I begged for them to not let me go back. He just shook his head and I realized that it was no use. He held me and carried me to his Volvo. When we got to Phil’s house, I got out , crying. Edward got out on the other side and kissed my forehead.

“I will make you save again.” He vowed.

I took an unsteady breath and walked a crossed the street, and into my nightmare…
