The usual sunny skies of Phoenix were gray and wet, but still warm. I stared out the window wishing for the normal 90° ands sunny.
A bell jerked me out of my daze. I collected my stuff, papers scattered everywhere from a boring class of note taking on politics. My next class was free period so I didn't rush. I started walking gloomily to my locker.
I groaned as I heard rain pelting the roof, thinking about my walk home. It wasn't long, but I of course didn't have an umbrella so it would seem very long.
I shook my head to clear it as I approached the stairs, guys liked to drop there stuff from above onto the people below, so sometimes people got hit. Like I need any help in falling down. Knowing me I would probably fall down two flights of stairs and out the window. I glanced up staying near the wall. Phew! Nobody there today. Even now I almost few but I clutched to the railing.
As I finished putting away my books in my locker I hit my head on a hanger as another bell rang, signaling the start of class. I shut my locker and headed towards the library to finish a little homework rubbing my head.

I stood underneath the scant shelter provided by the schools overhang, trying to force myself to start home in the pouring rain. I hate the wet! It always seem to soak me all the way through.
I pulled up the hood of my sweatshirt and reluctantly stepped out into the rain and immediately stepped into a puddle, I stumbled on, my tennis shoe soaking up the water. I splashed across the street, and huddled near a restaurants picnic umbrella that was meant for cover from the sun.
I gathered myself and swiftly started towards home, head down. I knew the way by heart. I bumped into a few people but otherwise I was pretty good.
I glanced up and stopped. I didn't recognize where I was. Oh! Damn it! I should have noticed the lack of noise the city on my route usually made. The rain had slowed at least.
I crossed the street intending to walk towards the corner and try to figure out where I was. I jumped as a cat exploded from a narrow alleyway, that I hadn't noticed before, yowling as loud as it could. It's scream echoed along the deserted street. Making me more creeped out then I already was.
The store next to the alley way was dark. I peeked around the corner into the alley. My eyes first rested on the glass side of the store, a hole shattered into it. It was big enough to fit a very large man through. I stepped back around the corner of the alley afraid of what I would see if I looked on. My head rested against the brick wall that I was near. If I ignored the alley and kept walking who knows what would happen. I gulped as I thought of what might be lurking in the alley, I shuddered.
A rain drop hit me in the eye, I rubbed it until I could see. Who knew what time is was, and I needed catch mom before she left. She had a date with Phil, they had been with each other a lot lately, he was a good guy but I don't know if he would be able to take care of my mom though.. I couldn't stand here all day.
I took a deep breath filling my lungs with fresh air, clearing my mind. Then I poked my head around the corner.
