14. Chapter 14: Anniversary

Rating 0/5   Word Count 5125   Review this Chapter

Right before we went to school Alice said “Do you guys want to skip class today?”

“Why? I mean I know that it’s boring and all but it’s kind of like when I used to sleep it’s relaxing,” I said.

“The reason is because it is going to be sunny starting today going through Wednesday,” Alice said. “In less you want to expose us all.”

“Don’t go to school,” Esme said. “Alice call Carlisle and tell him to come home. When is the sun going to come out?”

“One o’clock,” Alice answered. “That gives Carlisle enough time for an excuse.” She already had the phone to her ear.

“Jazz up for a little wrestling match?” Emmett asked.

“Bring it on Em,” Jazz said.

“What do you want to do?” I asked Edward.

Edward looked at me; he wrapped his arms around me. “I’ll give you three guesses, the first two are wrong.”

“Edward, we have five days for that,” I said. “That is not including today.”

“What do you want to do then?” Edward asked.

“Honestly,” I said. “I want to go to our meadow in Forks.”

“Today is the perfect kind of day to go there,” Edward agreed. “All bright and colorful, but I know how we can get our meadow here in Fox River.”

“Really? How?” I asked.

“Come with me,” Edward and I walked out side to where Em and Jazz were wrestling. We walked deep into the forest before Edward said. “Hop on to my back.”

“I really don’t need to do that anymore Edward,” I said. “I can run there myself.”

“Oh, I know,” Edward said. “I just want you to get the full impact, and the memories that we shared when you couldn’t run.”

I rolled my eyes, but got on to his back. We talked about our memories at our meadow; we talked about the first time he kissed me, the first time he held me, the first time he showed me what he looked like in the sun, &c.

“Close your eyes,” Edward said.

“Edward,” I complained.

“Just do it,” Edward said. “Please, it’s worth it. Trust me.”

“I do,” I said, I closed my eyes. “It better be worth it.”

“It is,” Edward said, he pulled me off his back and took my hand, we walked slowly forward. We stopped. Edward leaned down and kissed me, he kissed me the same way he had the first time we kissed. “Open your eyes Bella.”

I opened my eyes slowly.

I looked around the meadow. It was beautiful, there were bunches of flowers around the outside of the meadow. The flowers were yellow, pink, blue, peach, red, purple, and lavender shaded. The colors reflected nicely against the different shades of green grass. The grass had freshly new frost on it. The forest that was on the opposite side of the meadow was of beautiful pine and evergreen trees, with frost on them too.

The sun light made the frost look like diamonds against the trees and grass. The frost glittered among us.

“Edward,” I said breathless.

“I know,” he said.

I was beyond words. I turned around to look at Edward. I stared deeply into his golden eyes. He stared back at me.

“I love you,” I said. “When did you find this place?”

“As I love you,” Edward said. “I found it when we were living with Tanya’s family. It is against the law to cut down this forest so I knew the Meadow was still here.”

“Why didn’t you tell me about it earlier?” I asked.

“I was saving it for a special kind of day,” Edward said. “A day like today. A day where we would look back on all the times we have shared together the good and the bad times. I still wish that if I could go back in time to stop myself from leaving I would.”

“If you hadn’t left we wouldn’t be where we are today,” I said. “I would still be human. Even one little decision can change the future, just ask Alice.”

We walked to the center of the meadow and laid down in the grass. I laid there with Edward’s arm around my shoulders.

“Edward thank you,” I said. “This is the best gift that you could have given me.”

“Your welcome love,” Edward said.

He kissed my forehead. I placed my head on his shoulder bearing it between his neck and shoulder.

We sat like that for an immeasurable moment. Seconds could have past, minutes could have past, and even hours could have past.

Edward’s phone started to ring. “What Alice?” Edward asked annoyed.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Bella,” Edward said. “Would you like a second honeymoon?”

“Edward we’re in school now,” I said. “We can only do that stuff at night. And I doubt that we would get pulled out of school for a whole two weeks just for a second honeymoon.”

“Oh,” Edward said. “Not just two whole weeks, but a whole month.”

“Why?” I asked.

“In December the school gives off the whole month,” Edward said.

“I would love a second honeymoon,” I said.

“Alice,” Edward said into the phone. “Fine.” He handed me the phone.

“Bella,” Alice said. “You and I need to go shopping.”

“No way,” I said.

“Fine I’ll go shopping for you when you and Edward go on your second honeymoon,” she said. “That would be better anyway.”

“You can do that without me,” I said.

“You’ll have a new outfit for everyday that month,” Alice said. “I got to get online to start ordering. You’re size is an extra small, right?”

“Yes, Alice,” I said. “Bye.”

“What was that about?” Edward asked as he put his phone away.

“Nothing,” I said.

“Are you all right?” Edward asked me. “You don’t look so good.”

“I’m fine Edward,” I said.

“You look a little pale,” Edward teased.

“I do feel a little hot,” I said.

“Come here,” Edward said. He wrapped me in his arms.

We sat there again never moving.

“We should probably go home and give the others a break from EJ and CB,” I said. I loved being alone with Edward, but we promised that we would do our part today.

“Are you sure that you want to leave?” Edward asked me.

“I don’t want to leave but we promised that we would help,” I said. “Trust me if I had my way we would never be out of our room.”

“That would be the same if I had my way,” Edward said. “Let’s go and see what the terrors have planed for us.”

“Before we go I have something for you,” Edward said.

“What is it?”

Edward reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope and handed it to me.

I opened it up with my eyes still on Edward. I finally looked down. “Edward,” I gasped.

“It is now truly our meadow,” Edward said.

In my hand was the deeded to the meadow. Our Meadow.

We ran back home. Emmett and Jasper were still outside wrestling. It looked like they would be in the match for a few more days.

“Hey!” I said as we walked. “Where is everybody?”

Esme was sitting on the coach by herself listening to some music. “The boys are taking there nap and Carlisle is on the phone canceling some appointments that he has over the next few days, Alice is on the computer, Rosalie is watching the boys take there nap, and you can guess where Nessie and Jacob are,” she said. “Where did you guys go?”

“A meadow,” I responded.

“That must have been nice,” Esme said. “Do you guys have any plans for this long weekend?”

“I don’t know,” I said. “Edward usually doesn’t tell me these things ‘till the last minute, that way I can’t complain about it.”

“I do not know what you are talking about,” Edward said.

“Are we doing anything this weekend?” I asked him.

“You look like you need to hunt,” Edward said. “We’ll go hunting this weekend.”

“There’s your answer Esme,” I said.

“How long will you be gone?” Esme asked.

“No over night thing,” Edward said. “Will leave early tomorrow and come back late.”

“All right,” Esme said.

“You don’t want to go on an over night hunting trip?!” I asked with surprise.

“Not this time,” Edward said. “Like you said we have five days not including today.” He smirked.

“I never said that today we couldn’t,” I said. “I just said that we have five days including today to be in our room all day.”

“Well,” Edward said, putting his hand through his already messy hair. “If you really want to go on an over night hunting trip we can.”

“I didn’t say I wanted to,” I said. I was playing tricks with his mind.

“So you don’t want to go on an over night hunting trip?” he was so confused.

“I never said that I didn’t want to.” With that statement he caught on to want I was doing. He wrapped his arms around me and said, “Let me see the inside of you mind; that way I will be able to tell what you really want.”

“Not a chance,” I said a wicked smile forming on my face.

“Why not?” The same wicked smile that was on my lips was on his.

“Why should I tell you?” I asked.

Edward growled in my ear. “Because I am you husband Bella.”

“That doesn’t mean that I have to tell you everything,” I said. I noticed that Esme had left the room. She probably wanted to give us a little space in our conversation. If you could call it a conversation.

Edward’s lips came down hard on mine. I gasped into his mouth, his lips opening with my gasp. I moved my lips with his in ways that he would have not allowed if I was still human. He broke the kiss a minute later. He put his forward on mine and waited while our breathing slowed to its normal rhythm.

“Bella,” he gasped my name into my mouth, our breathing was still not slow enough to pass for its normal rhythm.

“Edward,” I gasped into his mouth.

We waited. Our breathing was not as ragged as it was before, but we still stood there waiting for the other to say something.

“Would you two like to go to your room?” Jasper asked. “It’s getting really hard to concentrate on beating Emmett.”

“Jasper,” Alice danced down the steps. “You and I are going shopping this weekend.”

“When are we leaving?” he asked excited.

“In one hour,” Alice responded.

“Good,” Jasper said. “I can’t tolerate anymore of this love thing with Edward and Bella, honestly guys go to your room.”

“Oh, Jasper stop feeling what we feel,” I said with a chuckle. “It’s getting annoying.”

“Want to know what’s annoying?” he asked me.

“When Edward kisses you how he feels,” Jasper said. “Now that is annoying, or at night when you two are alone in your room how he feels is annoying.”

“How does he feel when we kiss?” I asked Jasper.

“He feels like he wants to take you up to your guys’ room and not let you two come down for another year or two,” Jasper said. “And at night instead of years its decades.”

“He’s lying,” Edward said. “I do not feel that way.”

“I’ll let Bella deal with the angry you,” Jasper said.

“That is so not fair,” I said. “Calm him down a little bit, please.”

“Nope,” Jasper said. “Your feelings are as bad as his.”

“You’re going to pay for that,” I said. “And I mean pay big time.”

“What ever you say baby sis,” Jasper said. Jasper and I now had a better relationship then before. “But you’re going to pay bigger for what you feel towards my brother at night.”

“Hey,” I said. “How do you know those feelings? I mean, I know how you know, but why don’t you take my feelings and transfer them to Alice instead of Edward.”

“Who said I didn’t do that?”

“Gross,” I said. “Now go away.”

“Come on Jasper,” Alice said. “It’s going to be a long drive.”

“Bye,” Jasper and Alice said.

Jasper and Alice ran outside and in the next second Alice’s car was speeding down the driveway.

“Now that feeling eves dropping Jasper is gone,” Edward said. “What do you want to do, till the twins wake up?”

“I can think few things,” I smiled wickedly.

He had scooped me up into his arms before I could say anything else. His lips were on mine in the same second. He headed upstairs to our room.

An hour after Alice and Jasper left EJ started to cry.

“I’ll get him,” I said.

I ran down the hallway to the nursery. There was cute little EJ crying his eyes out.

“EJ baby what’s wrong?” I asked as I lifted the baby out of his bed.

“I miss mommy,” he wailed.

“I know you do,” I said. “But she’ll be back on Monday. Want to know something EJ?” I bounced him up and down. He was much too old for this but it calmed him down.

“Yeah,” he said.

“You and CB are starting school on Monday,” I said. “The same day that mommy’s coming home.”

“When’s daddy coming home?” asked CB. He had gotten up when EJ was crying.

“Monday,” I said. “They went on a vacation sans children.”

“What’s sans mean?”

“Without,” I said. “It’s one of my favorite words.”

“So they wont be back for a while,” EJ said his voice all choked up.

“No, but you have me and grandpa,” I said.

“Are you guys not tired anymore?” Edward asked coming up behind me.

“No,” CB said shaking his head in a cute way, his long black here moving with his head.

“What do you guys want to do?” Edward asked them.

CB pounced on Edward. “I got you,” he said.

“I wan’ play too,” EJ said. He wiggled out of my arms and went to go wrestle with CB and Edward.

They were wrestling for a while with Edward, until Edward gave up and let them all pile on top of him. I couldn’t help the smile that came across my face at the sight of Edward’s face pushed into the carpet with to little boys jumping on his back saying that they won. I sat there laughing at the sight of all three of them.

“What?!” Emmett said. “There was a wrestling match and no one told me?!”

“Oh, Emmett,” I said in between my giggles. “Go join them.”

“Edward you’re getting reinforcements!” Emmett shouted. He lifted CB in one arm and slung him over his shoulder. He then lifted EJ with the other arm and slung him over onto his other shoulder. He ran at fast human speed down the stairs, EJ and CB squealing with delight.

“They’re so cute,” I said to my husband.

“Yes, they are,” my husband whispered in my ear.

My husband.

I loved the sound of that. I remember how worried I was about the wedding. I was so glad that I went through with it.

“I love you,” I whispered to Edward.

“I love you too.”

“Cheater!” Emmett yelled.

“Can Emmett last one fight without yelling the word “cheater”?” I asked Edward.

“Hasn’t happened yet,” he said. “But I don’t think so.”

I laughed.

We headed down the winding staircase. To find Emmett on his stomach face pushed in to the floor, EJ sitting on his head and CB jumping up and down on his back yelling “We won!” over and over again.

“Emmett?!” I said. “What happened to you?”

“I was defeated,” he grumbled. “I was defeated by people who aren’t even a year old yet. You’re going to pay!”

“Emmett!” Rosalie yelled. “Emmett, baby!”

“Get off,” Emmett said. The boys stayed on his back. “I surrender.”

“You better surrender,” Rosalie said, she was still in the other room. She walked in and burst out laughing. “Edward, get the camera,” she said in between laughter.

“Already ahead of you,” he said. He had the video camera zooming in on the boys and I had the camera taking pictures of the boys.

“Okay,” Emmett said. “You guys won. Now may I go kiss Aunt Rose?”

“Ew!!” the boys said in unison. They quickly got off of his back and ran over to me and Edward.

“Hey baby!” Emmett said to Rosalie.

“Hey,” she said. “You are in big trouble, mister.”

“What do you mean?” Emmett was so confused.

“I’m talking about last night,” Rose said.

“Bad mental picture! Rosalie,” Edward said irritated. “You had to think of that.”

“I thought last night was pretty hot!” Emmett said.

“Hot?! It was so not hot.”

“What do you mean?!”

“Last night was not romantic, not hot, and above all not sexy,” Rosalie said. “Emmett were practicing for our anniversary, the least you can do is try a little harder.”

“We spend three hundred-sixty-four days a year practicing for our wedding anniversary Rose,” Emmett said. “One night can slide right?”

“Nope,” she said popping the “p” “Tonight better be good.”

“You know it will.”

“Go have your love fest someplace else,” I said.

“Hey boys!” Rose said.

“Aunt Rosylie,” EJ said.

“It’s Rosaly,” CB said

“No its not.”

“Yes it is.”

“No its not!”

“Yes it is!”

“No its not!” EJ yelled before he almost hit CB in the face. Edward grabbed EJ’s arm before it could swing and hit CB in the face. Emmett lifted CB out of the way. This took all of two seconds.

“Edward Jacob Black,” Edward yelled. “You will never make an attempt to hit your brother ever again, do you understand me?”

“Yes, Grandpa Edward,” EJ said in a shaky voice.

“EJ I don’t like to yell at you,” Edward said pulling the shaking EJ into his arms. “But when your parents aren’t home, I have to be the one to get mad. I love you I really do, but no more hitting CB okay?”

“Okay,” EJ said.

I had forgotten how good of a father. He was gentle when needed in times of sadness or in times of fear, he was strict in times of danger, and he was loving in every moment of every day and every night. Most of how Nessie turned out was due to him. I did help, but Nessie was a total daddy’s girl.

Edward looked up at me. “What?” he asked. He put EJ down on the ground again. “Why are you staring at me like that?”

“I was thinking of how you are an amazing father to Ness,” I said. “You’re a natural at it. You’re the perfect father, husband, father-in-law, grandfather, boyfriend, and last but not least the perfect vampire.”

“For that last one I disagree with you,” he said. “You are the perfect vampire.”

“I’m hungry,” EJ said not even noticing the conversation Edward and I were having.

“What do you want?” Edward asked him.

“Macaroni and cheese,” he said.

“Let’s go make some then,” my husband took my hand and walked with me to the kitchen, where EJ was trying to reach and grab the box of pasta.

“Let me help you,” I said. I lifted him off the ground so that he could reach the box. Edward grabbed the pot and put some water in it.

EJ ate his dinner quickly before he went to bed for the day. CB went to bed at the same time as EJ.

“Now that they are asleep what do you want to do?” Edward asked me with a seductive smile on his face.

“I’m not sure,” I said in my most seductive voice.

“Oh. You’re not sure,” he said taking me into his arms. I laughed and tried to pull away, failing in a second “Oh, no you don’t.” Edward’s grip on me grew tighter.

“Let’s get out of the house for a while,” I said. I pulled out of his grip quickly and pulled him downstairs with me.

We head outside. We stopped when we got to the patio. The patio had a chair swing on it, which is where Edward and I were sitting, it was big of course. There was a picnic table on one side, the swing on the other, and a sitting area around the middle part of the patio.

I cuddled into Edward’s side; his arm pulled me closer with every movement I made. I loved just sitting with him. I always felt safe in Edward’s arms. It was a feeling that was there since the day that I met him. Even though Edward was glaring at me and not trying to kill me when we first met I still had the feeling of security.

“What is it Bella?” Edward asked me.

I hadn’t realized that I had stopped breathing. I was so absorbed in my thoughts I forgot to breathe normally. “It’s nothing,” I said. “I was just absorbed in my own thoughts.”

“Something is on your mind,” Edward said, he was good at reading my face. “Now tell me, what’s on your mind?”

“I was thinking about . . .” I started.

Edward pulled me onto his lap and looked deeply into my eyes. “Yes?”

“I was thinking about . . .” I took a deep breath. “About how I always feel safe around you, even when you’re angry at me I feel safe. When I first met you I wondered about how come I felt safe with you when you were giving me the death stare. Just for some reason I feel safe with you. The feeling gets stronger when we’re in danger, like when James was about to start hunting me down, when you were with me I felt safe.”

“I’m glad that you were able to trust me,” he said. “Most humans wouldn’t trust vampires.”

“I’m not human anymore and I know that.”

“Every time you were in danger,” Edward said. “I was ready to defend you. Every moment I am with you I am ready to defend you. When you were still human, every time you came to my layer,” he cracked a smile and so did I. “I was ready to protect you or back you up on anything. It was an obligation for me to protect you.”

“I love you,” I said.

“I love you too.”

“Thank you for protecting me always,” I whispered. “I guess your job has been pretty easy for the last decade.”

“No,” he said. “It is the same as it always will be. I promise to protect you for all eternity; I promise you that and my love for all eternity.”

I smiled up at him. I didn’t say anything; I didn’t want to ruin this perfect moment. Edward kissed me on the tip of my nose and pulled me closer to him.

Minutes could have passed, hours could have passed. I only noticed when the sun started coming up that Edward and I had stayed there the whole night.

“Let’s go see what the little monsters have in store for us today,” I said.

“Let’s not,” Edward said.

“Edward we promised to do our part, remember?”

“Yes, I remember,” he said. “But we did our part.”

“Edward Anthony Mason Cullen,” I said shocked. “Are you thinking what I think you are thinking?”

“Yes,” he said.

“Edward Anthony Mason Cullen,” I scolded this time. “We are not, I repeat, not doing that with two very little boys in the house.”

“Then let’s get out of the house,” he suggested. “There is my car.”

“I don’t know,” I struggled with words.

“Oh my God,” Emmett said. “Rose and I will take care of the boys today. Just go!”

“Thanks Emmett,” I called to the door. I turned back to Edward. “Your car sounds great.”

“Bella, we’re not actually going to be in the car,” Edward said. “The car is there to get us to the hotel.”

I was scared now. Hotel? We were going to a hotel. “Which hotel?” I asked softly.

“Relax,” Edward said. “It’s not a big fancy one.”

“It better not be.”

“It’s not.”

“Promise?” I asked.

He dragged me to his car. I sat down in the passenger seat without hitting my head on the car frame. Edward sat in the driver seat and speeded away down the long driveway.

“Edward, where exactly are we going?” I asked.

“A hotel,” he answered.

I rolled my eyes. “I know that.”

“That’s all you get to know,” he smirked.

I pouted.

Edward laughed. “You look so adorable with that look on your face.”

I just sat there pouting for a few minutes, before Edward swiftly bent over to me and kissed my cheek. “Don’t be upset,” Edward said. “I want it to be a surprise.”

“I hate surprises,” I mumbled.

“I know you do.”

We were in the car for another good hour and a half before we got to the hotel.

“Edward,” I complained. It was just like I feared. It was a huge a hotel the biggest one in the state I bet. And of course Edward must have gotten the biggest and most expensive room there was. I loved Edward but he just gave me too much.

“Come on,” he said pulling me out of the car. “Our room is on the top floor.”

“I assume it is the biggest,” I said with a grimace.

Edward just smiled at me.

God, I love his smile. I really love this man . . . vampire. I really do love him.

We walked in to the hotel and quickly checked in at the front desk.

I noticed that the woman working at the front desk kept trying to look at Edward’s body with out him or me noticing. She wasn’t very successful; a blind dog could have seen what she was doing.

Edward thanked the woman at the desk and took my hand and walked to the elevators.

“The biggest and best sweet, I suppose?” I said.

“Yes, how did you know?”

“A lucky guess,” I smirked at him. He was going to get it good when I could get my hands on him.

We went up the elevator to the fortieth floor. If I were still human I would be scarred to death of being that high up, but I didn’t mind now.

We walked out of the elevator and there was only one door that was straight in front of us.

“Edward,” I complained again.

“Are you going to complain the whole night?” Edward asked me.

“Yes,” I pouted again.

“Well that will make me trying to seduce you extraordinarily, exceedingly, difficult.”

He pulled me along to the door and we walked in to the room. It was huge. It had a kitchen (even though we don’t need it), it had a huge bed in the middle of the room and the bathroom had no door to separate it from the bedroom. The whole room could fit the whole cottage in it.

“What was that?” I asked. Edward planned on seducing me tonight?

“No before you said how difficult it would be,” I said dumbfound.

“Seducing you?” He asked.

“That!” I said.

“What about it?”

“Do you really plan on doing that?” I asked shocked.

“I have no idea what you are talking about, Isabella.”

Ah, the full name. Well two could play that game. “Edward Anthony Masen Cullen,” I said. “You know exactly what I am talking about.”

“Maybe I do,” he said. “Maybe I don’t.”

“You’re such a tease!” I exclaimed.

“I’m the tease?” he asked. “No, Bella, I think you are the tease.”

“Why would you say that?” I asked. He was the tease he would make these stupid jokes till I asked him to fuck me.

“Because it is written all over your face,” he said. “You always know when to do what ever you want and that is usually teasing me or it is usually you trying to seem sexy and my head and my body can’t stand it any longer.”

That was the first time that Edward ever emitted that he thought I was sexy and tempting. I didn’t know what to say. My husband just told me that he can’t stand one day without having sex with me. What was I supposed to say to him?

Before I had a chance to respond he kissed me. I was so surprised I only noticed when he pushed me to the bed.

“Bella,” Edward said. “I have to make love to you. I can’t wait any longer.’

With that Edward pushed me down on the bed and hovered over me, while continuing the kiss. His hands moved from my shoulders to my waist. I deepened the kiss.

Edward’s hand moved from my waist to run up my leg, while his other hand moved down to the button on my jeans. He unbuttoned the button and unzipped the zipper. He gently pulled my jeans off my legs. His hands ran up my bare legs.

My hands flew to his chest. I fumbled with the buttons on his shirt. God, I couldn’t get him undressed fast enough. I had gotten only his shirt off. My hands ran up and down his muscular chest.

His hands kept running up and down my bare legs. He smiled in our kiss. “I want to give you pleasure,” Edward said to me. I didn’t have any clue what type of pleasure he was talking about.

Edward bent his head down to my right hip. He kissed me on my hip, his teeth pulled on the string of my thong. He pulled my panties down with his mouth.

Edward’s left hand ran up my leg all the way to my stomach. His hand ran up my shirt. I gasped with pleasure. His hands undid my bra and had my shirt off in a matter of seconds.

Edward kissed the inside of my right thigh, his kissing continued to go up my leg. My hands were on his pants and already pulling them off. Edward’s kissing kept going and farther up.

“Edward,” I complained. “I need you now.”

Edward looked at me with his big eyes and said “What do you need?”

“I want you inside of me right now,” I said.

Edward positioned himself at my entrance and entered me. I gasped out his name. I met his rough and fast thrusts.

I barely could hear anything over my moaning and Edward’s it was a surprise that we didn’t get kicked out.

We spent the rest of the weekend at the hotel.
