Chapter 9: Date

I was having an Alice moment the remainder of the day. Trevor asked me on a date! I think the Cullen's must have sensed something during lunch. Alice was bouncing out of her seat with me mirroring her actions, Jasper smiled exhaustedly at us as if he were reading both of our emotions, Edward seemed contemplative as always-I wondered how he didn't give himself a headache with all that thinking. He looked my way with a soft smile before falling back into his thoughts, absentmindedly playing with a lock of Bella's hair. Bella was looking at him adoringly of course and Emmett and Rosalie...were being Emmett and Rosalie. Rosalie was staring at her nails as if they were the most interesting things she had lay eyes on, and Emmett was looking over at me making funny faces. So on top of my excitement, I was struck with a giggle fit.

I wondered if I made the right decision separating myself from the Cullen's and the popular table. I never really liked the crowd there. The girls were superficial and the guys thought they were players on and off the field. Although, I will admit that I could actually call most of the football players my friends. The girls, however, were another story completely. They only talked to me and stayed up my ass because they liked the clothes I wore and the attention they received when they hung around me. They didn't think I knew about the rumors they tried to spread about the guys and me. They also didn't know how bad the guys talked about them when they weren't around. I honestly felt sorry for them. Their simple little minds could not understand the complexities of the real world. They only thought of how their status among our fellow classmates would soar if they were on the arm of a different football player every week. What's a little trim in exchange for being on top? Never mind losing your self-respect, or losing that crucial part of yourself that you can never get back. And what of the girls who weren't like them? The girls that had to put up with being expected to live up to those bullshit standards and the consequences that resulted when they didn't? Girls like Megan and Tia disgusted me for the race of women!

Just as I struggled to hold off those upsetting memories pushing at my subconscious, a warm comforting feeling wrapped itself around me. It was as if someone who truly cared was enveloping in the warmth of their love and understanding. I sighed contently at this feeling, welcoming it even. When I looked up again, I saw Trevor walking into the cafeteria. The warm feeling was still there, only now it was multiplied by my excitement and the swirls of butterflies in my stomach. He smiled at me and I smiled back, maybe a little too widely. What was going on with me? It was just Trevor! Yes, I had special feelings for him, but he made it clear long ago that we were better off as friends. Yet, as he approached, my heart started to beat crazily against my chest. Was it because he didn't pity me as I expected him to when I told him of my condition or was it something more?

"Hey half pint," he said, sitting in front of me. "Why aren't you eating?"

I looked down at my untouched plate of taco salad and smiled. "Just waiting for you." And I can't seem to control the flutter of butterflies in my stomach to make myself eat.

We began our lunch, making idle chitchat. "So, do you have any idea what the guys might want to have this time around?" I said, sipping my water.

"You know they don't care. As long as you made it and it's free. Although, I wouldn't mind something I could eat with some syrup."

"Point taken. Does Sauers still want to use the Olive Garden for dinner?"

"He wants to, but I don't think the budget is big enough for that."

"Silly me, here I thought you guys were given everything short of the Atlantic Ocean."

He narrowed his eyes playfully. "This coming for someone who gets as many benefits as we do."

"Benefits? What benefits?"

"Let's see. How ever many free tickets you need whenever we play in away and championship games, your very own team jacket-."

"Which does not have my name but your little nickname Half Pint on it may I add," I interrupted with the sternest look I could muster, though I still couldn't hide my smile.

"Like you don't love the name. And, Coach takes it easy on you in gym."

"That has nothing to do with the team. I have a great workout plan and I am in top shape."

"Excuses, excuses."

"Ok, let's just agree to disagree on this one." I marveled at the fact that we were just hours away from an official date and yet we were still able to sit and joke with one another.

"Gabby's going to give me hell if I don't ask you, but she's begging me to get you to come to my house after school while I'm at practice today."

"Is something wrong?" It made me wonder why Gabby didn't simply call me or try to track me down after her classes; we were going to the same school after all. This must be something important.

"No, she just misses you. Will you be able to make it?"

"I'm not sure. I kind of had plans to make a trip to the market to pick up a few things." Just as I finished saying this, my phone vibrated, alerting me that I had a text message.

"Esme went 2 the store this morning 4 u. When u come home, b ready 4 dress rehearsals!"

I looked over at Alice and couldn't help but to smile as she waved, still bouncing in her seat. "Scratch that, looks like I'll be able to make it."

"Good, just don't take too long with her. Or I might have to steal you away," he said leaning towards me. Was he flirting?

"Well, we wouldn't want that, now would we?" I whispered back, my voice just as low and sultry. Whoa, where did that come from?

"Are you two lovebirds about to make out in the cafeteria? Because I'm not opposed to watching," Matt said, walking over towards us.

"Yes, we know you're extremely perverted," I said giving him a one armed hug as usual.

He and Trevor shook hands and bumped shoulders in their usual way before he sat beside him at the table. "You guys don't know how good it feels to be away from the Barbie twins over there."

"Matt, that's your fault for making them compete for your affections."

"Don't blame me because I'm gorgeous, Jasmine."

Well, he had me there. Matt was a little shorter than Trevor, not by much, maybe a half a foot. He had dirty blonde hair, smoldering blue eyes, thick pink lips and a hard muscled body. Hmm, he could almost pass for a Cullen in the beauty department.

And as if on cue, the wonder sluts sauntered over to my table. "Hey guys, we saw you sitting here and thought we would join you," Megan said, taking a seat in between Trevor and Matt, without bothering to ask if she was welcomed at my table. I would have said yes just for the sake of politeness, but it was the principle of the matter.

"No fair, Megan! Why do you get to sit in between Matt and Trevy?"

Trevy? Ok, this bitch was going to make me smack her. I heard low laughs from my left and didn't need to turn around to know that it was Emmett and Edward. Guess I wasn't the only one with amazing hearing.

"It's very rude to eavesdrop on the conversations of others," I whispered lowly. For some reason, I felt like they could hear me.

"Jasmine, I just love your outfit! You have to tell me where you got those boots!"

"Forever 21," I mumbled dryly.

Both of the girls gasped. "Shut up, I didn't even know there was a Forever 21 around here!" Tia said, tossing her hair off her shoulder. I frowned as she stirred the air. The scent of hair extensions always made me feel nauseous. It stunk of plastic and stale spit. "We should go shopping together sometime, right?"

"Oh! Look at the time," I said flipping open my cell phone. "You know I would love to stay and chat, but I have to go get my books before class, so...bye. Matt, always a pleasure." I lingered a little bit looking at Trevor. He stood immediately, saying good-bye to Matt, and the girls of course, just to be polite. We dumped our trays and walked out into the empty hallway.

For a while, we walked closely beside one another. His arm rubbing against mine after having removed my jacket.

"I'm really looking forward to tonight, Jasmine."

"So am I. I was beginning to think Tia might have actually gotten your attention. It seems like she was working really hard for it."

Trevor stopped me in front of the lockers, his hand lingering at the small of my back. "The only girl that has my attention...is you." There was so much warmth and sincerity in his eyes. Everything about him made me want to love him to the brink of madness.

I felt my hands creep up to his hard biceps, as we stared into one another's eyes. He held me tighter as his free hand moved up, caressing my left cheek. I shuddered from his warmth and he couldn't help but to smile at the way my body reacted to his touch.

"Trevor," I whispered, desperation creeping up in my voice.

His smile faded as we inclined towards each other. He drew in jagged breaths as his mouth hovered over mine. I closed my eyes, and I could almost taste his cinnamon scent. His lips glided ever so lightly on mine just as the bell sounded, prompting the end of lunch.

"Damn!" We both groaned. He reluctantly pulled away from me as the hall began to feel with students. I ignored their stares and whispers as I traced the outline of Trevor's lips with my fingertips.

I took those last few moments to really look at Trevor and take in his flawless features. I blew him a kiss in parting. I had found my muse.

We were sitting in the cafeteria as usual, only I was too excited for Jasper's liking.

"Babe, calm," he said with a hand on my shoulder. It worked only a little as I thought back to my earlier vision.

Trevor and Jasmine were sitting in her car. She had just finished telling him about her condition. He let her cry on his shoulder. He promised to stay by her side throughout it all.

Then there was another vision. Trevor and Jasmine out at dinner. Her dress would be perfect to compliment his attire.

"Alice, you're making me dizzy," Rosalie called, though she was looking towards the opposite side of the cafeteria from where I was sitting.

"Oh, I can't help it, Rose! They are so perfect for one another. I can't believe it took him this long to see it!"

At that point, Jasmine walked into the cafeteria and bought a taco salad. She looked over at the jock table. She usually sat there with the football players and their groupies. Matt and Bobby motioned for her to join them, but she shook her head with a small smile. She saw our table and waved at us. Everyone else nodded while Bella and I waved, although I may have been a little overenthusiastic about her plan.

When she finally chose a table at the left of us towards the wall, she started bouncing up and down in her seat as well.

"She thinks some of you exuberance has rubbed off on her," Edward said with a smile. Now whenever he spoke of Jasmine or things she should not know yet, he made his voice even lower. Although most of the time she still managed to hear us. She would make a very powerful vampire.

Jasmine looked back over at our table taking us all in. Then suddenly, she was struck with some sort of giggle fit. No surprise there, Emmett being Emmett took it upon himself to make faces at her. You would think Carlisle turned him at the age of five.

Jasmine's eyes wandered back over to her usual table and she was unknowingly sending death glares to Megan Kittredge and Tia Tilson. Whatever she was thinking and feeling had both Edward and Jasper wincing.

"What's wrong?" Bella and I said at the same time.

Jasper held my hand tightly and Edward shook his head. He sighed heavily, unable to handle whatever course her thoughts had taken.

"Jazz," he said simply. With this, I felt a calm wave wash over me. Jasmine sighed contently, her features now visibly relaxed.

"Dammit!" Jasper groaned. Whatever calmness he managed to give Jasmine washed away the second Trevor walked into the cafeteria.

We could all hear her heart pound erratically with every step he took towards her.

"Huh, kind of reminds me of how Bella's heart would go into overdrive whenever she was around Eddie," Emmett teased.

As expected, Bella rolled her eyes and sighed and Edward growled lowly.

"What have I told you about calling me that, Emmett?"

Ahh, my brother was such a drama queen. I didn't have to turn around. I could feel his eyes burning into the side of my head.

"An oldie, but a goodie," Emmett said proudly.

"It's all right, Edward," Bella consoled. "Just think of how funny it was when Jasmine creamed Emmett on XBOX."

"That's why I love you. You always know just what to say." Then the two started giving each other Eskimo kisses.

Rosalie held her hand over her mouth like she was fake gagging, while trying not to smile at our siblings PDAs.

Emmett narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth to respond, but Jasper launched his own assault.

"Or when not even four hours later did Emmett challenge Jasmine to yet another contest, only to end up blowing chunks."

"Jasper!!! You're supposed to be on my side, traitor!" Emmett whined.

Jasper smiled as I lay my head on his shoulder. At some point, it seemed as if we all managed to tune out the buzzing of the cafeteria and listen in on the happenings over at Jasmine's table.

"Gabby's going to give me hell if I don't ask you, but she's begging me to get you to come to my house after school while I'm at practice today." I was sure that Gabby was Trevor's younger sister. Edward confirmed this with a small, "mmm-hmm."

"Is something wrong?" Jasmine and Gabby must have been close. Her face now showed nothing but concern.

"No, she just misses you. Will you be able to make it?"

She hesitated in answering, as she did I was swept into a vision of Esme at the supermarket picking up all of Jasmine's favorite foods and the paper plates and metal containers I warned her she would need in the ever-pressing future.

"Alice, what is it?" Jasper was always on hyperactive alert whenever I had visions.

I smiled simply and pulled out my cell, texting Jasmine. "Nothing big, just something for Jasmine."

"I'm not sure. I kind of had plans to make a trip to the market to pick up a few things."

Just as she finished speaking, her phone vibrated, alerting her of my text. She read it, looked a little confused then over at our table. I waved happily and she smiled back.

"Scratch that, looks like I'll be able to make it."

"Good, just don't take too long with her. Or I might have to steal you away." Trevor was obviously flirting now. At that point, Emmett, Edward and Jasper all turned sharply in their direction. Overprotective much? What shocked us the most was Jasmine's response.

"Well, we wouldn't want that, now would we?" Jasmine was using her best seductive voice. Wow, you go girl.

"That's it, I'm kicking his ass when he comes over tonight," Emmett declared.

"Not if I get to him first," Jasper vowed.

"Not likely, I'm faster than you both remember," Edward all but growled under his breath.

"But I have tactical training," Jasper countered.

"And I'm stronger than you both combined," Emmett said, flexing his muscles for visual effects.

"Emmett, if you lay one finger on that boy you are cut off for two months!" Rosalie said fiercely.

Emmett gasped, his resolve quickly fading. I was swept into another vision. In this one, Trevor was cowering in a corner in our living room, trembling as Jasper and Edward growled threats of bodily harm if he harmed Jasmine in any way. At that point, Trevor ran out of the house in terror, and Jasmine ran upstairs sobbing, ruining the make-up Rose and I applied for her. I gasped as Edward smiled smugly.

"Jasper Whitlock Cullen, if you threaten Trevor tonight you will be cut off for six months!"

Jasper looked horrified, but when I had the vision again, it was only Edward towering over Trevor. The end result was still the same.

"Edward," I warned.

He laughed dryly and turned to Bella. "Forgive me, love, but you know as well as I do that you could never hold out more than a few hours at a time-."

"TMI," I said with a slight shudder.

Edward rolled his eyes and continued. "Let alone six months."

Bella smiled her sugary sweet smile. "Well, you definitely have me there, Edward," she said lowly, now she was dazzling him. "But if you ruin this for Jasmine, not only will I ask Carlisle and Esme to take away your Volvo and the Vanquish," for the look of terror on Edward's face she could have stopped there. "But I will also abstain from doing that one thing you really, really love...for a year. Are we clear?"

He nodded furiously and now I could see Trevor and Jasmine leaving the house without consequence.

"Nice one Bella, and to think, I was actually planning to destroy Edward's piano if he didn't comply."

I ignored Edward's death glares and focused my attention back on Jasmine. Our little exchange only took a couple seconds, but in that time, Matthew Jensen made his way over to the table. Jasmine seemed to like him well enough.

"She's imaging how well he would fit in with us," Edward said, supplementing my thoughts.

"That horn dog? Absolutely not!" Rosalie said, sounding offended. "Oh, great, there goes his little fan club." She wrinkled her nose in disgust as the girls walked by. "Ugh, you can practically smell the semen on those two!"

Edward laughed, capturing all of our attention. "It seems as if she agrees with your sentiment."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's just say that the nickname Wonder Sluts has appeared in her mind more than once."

We chuckled lightly at this. This Trevor was really bringing out a different side to our reserved little Jasmine. She stared at the girls with disdain as they sat at the table. Only forcing herself to smile when it was required.

"No fair, Megan! Why do you get to sit in between Matt and Trevy?"

"Wow, Jasmine just said, and I quote, ‘Trevy? Ok, this bitch is going to make me smack her,'" Edward said imitating her voice exactly.

Edward and Emmett both stopped laughing as we heard the very low, yet clear voice floating towards us. "It's very rude to eavesdrop on the conversations of others."

"She heard us?" Bella said lowly.

"That she did, love," Edward said once again submersing himself in deep thought. He looked so much like Carlisle when he did that.

"All right, since no one else is going to say it, then I will. That little girl is starting to creep the hell out of me! Are we sure she's even one hundred percent human?"

"Of course she's human! She has a heartbeat, doesn't she? Her scent is still appealing, isn't it?" Rosalie argued lowly.

"Yeah, but Rose, come on! We all know there is something not right about her!"

"Em, when a human begins to lose one sense, the others become stronger," Edward reasoned.

"Sure, but there's no way in hell she should be able to hear the things we say. I'm telling you, something is not right about her. And have any of you heard Carlisle say anything about telling her the secret and offering her the change?"

He looked around at us and we all shook our heads. Again, I was swept up in yet another vision. I felt Jasper's hand wrap around mine.

"He's going to tell her next week."

"What will be her reaction?" Bella asked somewhat timidly. I knew she really liked Jasmine and she was worried that the girl would either be terrified or disgusted.

"It's not clear, Bells. The vision stops as soon as Carlisle says the words."

Jasmine rose from her table, throwing her plate away. She waited until Trevor followed her out. I was sure Edward read their minds as they walked out of the cafeteria. And I, well, accidentally allowed myself to spy in a vision.

"He's going to try to kiss her," Edward snarled. I could feel Jasper stiffen beside me. Jeez guys, she's not a baby. I focused back on my vision.

Jasmine and Trevor walked closely beside one another. Their arms rubbing against one another sweetly as she held her jacket over her arms.

"I'm really looking forward to tonight, Jasmine."

"So am I. I was beginning to think Tia might have actually gotten your attention. It seems like she was working really hard for it."

Trevor stops Jasmine in front of the lockers, his hand lingering at the small of her back. "The only girl that has my attention...is you." He looks at her with so much love and adoration and Jasmine returns his gaze with just as much intensity, maybe more.

Her hands creep up to his biceps as they stare into one another's eyes. He holds her tighter and his free hand moves up, caressing her left cheek. She shudders from his warmth and he smiles, pleased with her reaction.

"Trevor," she whispers almost desperately.

His smile fades as they incline towards each other. He draws in jagged breaths as his mouth hovered over hers. Jasmine closes her eyes. His lips glide ever so lightly on hers, just as the bell sounded, prompting the end of lunch.

"Damn!" I groan along with them. I pulled myself out of the vision to see Jasper, Bella, Emmett and Rosalie watching me with raised eyebrows. Edward still looked to be seething. "The bell rung before they could kiss."

"Good!" Emmett and Jasper agree.

The girls and I sigh as we gather our things to head to our next class. Poor Jasmine. She's going to find out soon enough, having big brothers is not all it's cracked up to be. I walked into my AP Art class to find Jasmine taking her seat in the back of the room.

I skipped over to her. "Hey Jasmine, how was your lunch?" I tried to sound nonchalant, but she saw through it.

"I don't know, Ally. You tell me. It seems like you guys managed to get an earful."

"Are you mad," I said biting my lip-a nervous habit I picked up from Bella.

She sighed and a smile spread over her face. "No, nothing can make me mad today." She was about to say something more when our teacher, Mrs. Locke, walked in.

"Good afternoon class. Today we are going to have a free day. Draw something, anything you like. Just please no pornographic pictures."

Jasmine turned to her canvas and I to mine. For the first fifteen minutes, we drew in silence. I decided to draw a new house I wanted to build in Switzerland. Perhaps after everything was settled with the family, Jasper and I could go there and get to work on it. Marble floors and countertops, and I could have walk-in closets for dress shoes, casual shoes, workout shoes, shopping shoes, oh, Jasper is just going to love this new house!

I glanced over at Jasmine's drawing and my jaw dropped slightly. She drew an outline of a man. Then she filled in the detailed features of his eyes, nose and lips. She drew a very accurate picture of Trevor.

"So, Ally, I read your text and I wanted to tell you that Trevor asked me out on a date tonight. I mean a real date."

"Oh my gosh! I am so happy for you!" Of course, I already knew this, but she didn't know I knew. "After you visit with Gabby we are going to make you sparkle!" Even I had to laugh at that.

"Ally, can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Jasmine?"

She stopped drawing and turned toward me. "I've been noticing some very strange things."

"What do you mean?" This was not good.

"I hear you guys saying things that you don't mean for me to hear, and when Edward realizes I do, he looks like he's a little scared. And then sometimes, I swear it's like he's reading my mind or something. It's not just that either, it's the way you guys behave. I feel...I know something is different about you all."

I was quiet for a moment. This girl was a lot more perceptive than we originally thought. "So what did you want to ask me, Jasmine?"

She frowned for a minute and then shook her head. "I don't really know. I guess it's more of what I you to tell me."

"Which is...," I prompted.

"That no matter what happens or how this all turns out, we'll still be friends?"

I could have cried when she asked me that. "Jasmine, we will always be friends."

My last class ended without incident so I drove to Trevor's house. He had practice after school and his parents were still at work. That left Gabby to pick up the twins from daycare and baby-sit them until they got home. I knocked on the door once before Gabby opened it.

"Jasmine, you made it!" she said, throwing her arms around my neck. I hugged her back and walked into the house. Their house was a little bit smaller than my parent's house, but it was still very nice. Their dad was a lawyer at a private practice in Seattle and their mother worked as math teacher at Forks Elementary.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to make this visit."

"I understand. You have a lot going on right now," she said settling on the couch. The twins were asleep on the thick-carpeted floor in front of us.

"Trevor told you about my current living situation, huh?"

"Yeah, but I didn't tell anybody. What's it like over there?"

"It's um...it's an experience. They're all very nice. Some are more competitive than others, but they all have a way of making you feel welcomed."

"What about that blonde? I heard she was a bitch," Gabby whispered as if they could somehow hear her, although being the Cullen's, I wouldn't be surprised if they could.

"No, she's not, not really. She just has a certain personality. Besides, we can all be bitches on the right day of the month."

"True," Gabby took one of the pillows from the couch and hugged it against her stomach.

"What is it, Gabby?" Looking at the girl, it was hard for me to believe that she really was fifteen. She had the body of a twenty-five year old and taking all advanced classes the mentality to match. She had curly baby hair like Trevor and it reached her shoulders. Her eyes were a hazel color, the same as her mother's. She reminded me so much of myself at that age, and that worried me.

"I...I did something, Jasmine," she said in a low voice.

I was almost afraid to ask, although I already had a pretty good idea what that something was. "What did you do, Gabby?"

"Ok, please, please don't be mad at me."

"Gabby, I'm not going to be mad."

"And, I know you don't like keeping secrets from Trev, but please don't tell him about this conversation."

"Gabby, this is between the two of us. I promise nothing you say will go beyond this room." She was right, I hated keeping secrets from Trevor, but Gabby was my friend too, and her needing me weighed more than my own trust issues with him.

Gabby looked down at her hands and took a deep breath. "There's this guy that I know. I knew him for a while, actually. Since I was ten years old."

Ok, now I was really worried.

She read my apprehension and shook her head firmly. "No, not like that. We kind of grew up together. I always had a crush on him, but with him being a little older than me, well, I was just too afraid to approach him that way."

"How old is a little older?"

"Two years."

I inhaled deeply. I didn't like her answer, but with the way the girls were coming up nowadays, it could've been much worse. "Go on."

"Well, one day I managed to pull some courage out of my ass and gave him a call. He was shocked to hear that I felt that way, but that night we ended up talking for four hours. We would talked to each other every night. Then we started to secretly see each other, but we never did anything. He would come over and hang out with me while Trevor was doing his own thing afterschool. We would just watch TV or listen to music and eat junk food. One day when he was leaving my house, he kissed me. My first kiss. It lasted only a few seconds because he didn't want to scare me or make me feel uncomfortable. But I didn't, Jasmine. It was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced. I wasn't sure at first, but when he kissed me, I knew I was in love with him."

I tried my best to smile, but it was so hard listening to this. It was as if my story, my secret, my pain was being told to me. "What did you do, Gabby?"

"He's been trying to call me ever since it happened. He's doing everything he can to talk to me. He keeps telling me he loves me and that he's sorry."

Before I could stop myself, I reached out grabbing her face, forcing her to look at me. "Gabby, did he...did he force himself on you? Did he hurt you?"

"No, god, no. He would never do that to me! To anyone! Jasmine, I swear he didn't hurt me."

I sighed and let her go. Once my heart slowed down and my breathing returned to normal, I started to question Gabby. "If he didn't hurt you, then why did he apologize? Why haven't you really talked to him since then?"

"Because, he had already done it with before and he didn't know that it was my first time until he...broke through. He apologized then and asked me if I wanted him to stop, but God help me, I didn't. It felt like nothing I have ever experienced. I don't regret it, Jasmine. I don't regret being with him. I'm just scared."

"Scared of what?"

"I'm scared for myself if Trev or my parents find out, and I'm so scared for him. That's why I've cut off contact with him. He thinks it's because he hurt me or that I regret it. He even wants to come clean with my parents and tell them about us. I can't let him do that. His whole life would be ruined. You know how Trev is and my dad is ten times worse. He wouldn't hesitate to press charges."

I sat there for a few minutes, taking it all in. My best friend's little sister lost her virginity and I'm the only person she's told. "This has been a hellacious week," I whispered, massaging my temples.

"Well, what?"

"Aren't you going to ask me the million dollar question? Aren't you going to ask me his name?"

I answered before I could comprehend what I was saying. "No, for the time being, Gabby, I don't want to know."

"Jasmine, I miss him so much. I hate pushing him away like this, but what else can I do?"

That was a very good question. What could she do that wouldn't involve Trevor killing him? "Well, if you love him, you definitely should stop trying to push him away. Talk to him and tell him what's going on. Then the two of you can decide what comes next. Just promise me you'll be careful. You're like a sister to me and I don't want anything bad to happen to you."

"I promise. Thanks Jasmine."

After playing with the twins for twenty minutes when they woke up, I drove back to Cullen Manor. As soon as I opened the door, a gush of wind hit me and something black was jumping up and down in front of me. I looked down to see that it was Alice bouncing with excitement as always.

"Jasmine, come on! We only have an hour and a half to get you ready!"

"Oh my god! Alice, you're right! I thought I only had ten minutes, but an hour and thirty? Oh, how will we get it done?" I said, sarcastically.

Jasper and Emmett who were playing video games on the couch laughed. Alice narrowed her eyes and tugged me towards the stairs as Rosalie followed.

"Hi Esme!" I called as I passed the kitchen.

"Hello, dear," she said warmly.

As we made our way upstairs, I could hear faint moans. Oh, well that explains Bella and Edward's mysterious disappearance.

"God Bella that is amazing," Edward groaned. Rosalie and Alice giggled, but hearing them like that was unnerving. One, because I was already beginning to think of Bella and Edward by extension as my brother and sister and two...listening to their intimacy awoke my own deprived desires.

"Jasmine, is that you?" Bella called.

"Oh, no, Bella don't get up...or whatever, Rose and Alice will fix me up!"

"Oh, ok. I'll see you later then."

Rose, Alice and I headed towards my room, but not before I heard Bella giggle seductively, "my turn!"

Once we were in my room, Rosalie and Alice sent me off to shower while they picked out my outfit. The warm water felt good against my skin. I couldn't help but to think back to my talk with Gabby. She was so afraid that I would judge her, so worried that I would tell Trevor. Yet, I had the feeling that was something more she was holding back. Something bigger.

"Jasmine, come on! We have to hurry!" Alice squealed impatiently.

"Yeah, did you do fall asleep in there?" Rosalie yelled. I could practically see her tapping her foot.

I sighed turning off the water, toweling myself dry. My fingers lightly swept over the scar and the tears rushed to my eyes.

"Damn them," I whispered sliding my fingers up and down the long, ugly scar. A perfect reminder of that night. I stifled a small sob just as it rose up in my chest.

"Jasmine, are you ok?" Rosalie spoke in a soft voice.

"Yeah, I'm coming out." I slipped on my lace underwear that I normally wouldn't wear, but Alice felt the need to give me for tonight. Once my robe was securely wrapped around me, I walked out of the bathroom and sat in front of vanity mirror.

"Let the fun begin!" Alice said happily. She applied my make up while Rosalie curled my hair with-much to my dismay-a curling iron. Even though she used extremely low heat, I would have to be sure to use some repair oil on my hair later, especially on the ends.

"Ok, your clothes are on the bed. Rose and I will be downstairs, so come down when you're ready," Alice said, pecking my cheek quickly before she and Rosalie disappeared out the door. I dropped the robe on the floor and changed. Alice and Rosalie picked out a thin-strapped, indigo, denim dress with pockets in the front and back. I zipped up the dress and put on my dark blue, strappy heels. Platinum earrings and matching bracelet and I was ready. With my jacket over my arm, I headed downstairs. Eight heads snapped in my direction. The sad thing, out of those eight, only four looked at me approvingly.

"Jasmine, you look beautiful," Esme said with a smile.

"Your hair came out great," Rosalie believe it or not.

"I'm sorry I wasn't any help, but you look hot!" Bella said.

"Trevor will not be able to take his eyes off you!" Alice squealed, bouncing up and down.

"Where are the rest of her clothes?" Carlisle said, with a disapproving look to his daughters.

"She's not going outside like that," Emmett declared.

"Hell no! He's only going to want one thing when he sees her in that!" Jasper yelled.

"Alice, are you serious? You can't send her out there dressed like that! Do you realize how many perverts there are in Port Angeles?" Edward said.

I groaned looking to the girls for help. Instantly, they called out to their respective partners to relax and to stop being so difficult.

"Spongebob!" I yelled, jumping up in the air.

"Jasmine," they all said.

"Sorry, couldn't help it."

At that moment, the doorbell rang. My heart started to pound again, maybe a little too loudly because everyone turned to look at me. I didn't care. I just stood there smiling, bouncing up and down like Alice. Then when I looked at the Cullen men, I started to get nervous. Carlisle set his jaw, like he was clenching his teeth. Edward rolled his shoulders, Jasper worked his neck from side to side and Emmett...oh god, Emmett. He started to pop his knuckles.

Rosalie cleared her throat and the guys gave her their attention. "Four months, Em."

"Six months, Jazz," Alice said coolly.

Edward looked at Bella shaking his head in dread. "One year, Edward."

I wasn't exactly clear on the meanings behind these threats, but the guys quickly backed off, leaving Carlisle to answer the door. Carlisle was the most levelheaded of the group, so why did I dread him being the one to open the door?

I made it home from practice about an hour before I was supposed to pick up Jasmine. The twins were awake and hanging on Gabby's leg as she playfully walked them around the living room.

"Hey guys." As soon as they heard my voice they let go of Gabby and ran towards me screaming, Tremor, Tremor! They were so adorable.

"Hey, Trev," Gabby said, settling on the couch.

"Hey, Gabbs. Did Jasmine come by to see you today?"

"Yes, she did. Thanks."

"Sure, but I still don't see why you couldn't just talk to me. I am your big brother and all," I said playing airplane with my two favorite little munchkins.

"Because Trev, I needed some girl time and the last time I heard, you were still a boy."

"Mmm-hmm, you two had better not have been talking about boys."

"Please, Trevor. Boys don't even talk to me because they know you're my brother."

"Good, then it looks like we're on the same page."

Gabby checked her watch and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, but don't you have a date you should be getting ready for with my sister-in-law?"

I choked a little on that title. "Damn girl, this is just the first date and you're already talking about marriage? You have issues." But, I put the kids down and hurried up the stairs. I put my drenched sweats in the washing machine and jumped in the shower. For some reason, I couldn't shake the excitement I held for my date with Jasmine. Everything had to be perfect. After my shower, I dressed in my dark blue Karl Kani jeans, a plaid dark yellow and red shirt, my Timberland boots and black leather jacket. I started to brush my hair a little, making my waves visible when I realized I had no idea how to get to the Cullen's house. I picked up my phone and called Jasmine.

"Jasmine's phone, Alice speaking."

Alice, Alice, which one was Alice again? Right, the short bouncy one. "Hi Alice, this is Trevor Wallace. I-."

"Trevor, hi! How are you? Jasmine is getting ready right now! She is so excited! Did you need something?"

Man, the girl talked a mile a minute. "Um, yeah, I was wondering if you could give me some directions. I have no idea how to get to your house."

"Of course."

About five more minutes of idle chitchat with Alice, I grabbed my keys and headed down the stairs.

"Treat my friend good tonight, big bro," Gabby said looking up from her homework.

"You don't have to worry about that, little sis. See you later."

I got in my truck, following the directions Alice gave me. I had to admit I was impressed. It reminded me of one of those mansions you would see the celebrities living in on MTV Cribs. Although it was somewhat hidden behind Forks' natural forestry. It seemed like the closer I got to the house, the more nervous I became. I couldn't explain it. I was so excited to see Jasmine, but as I stood in front of the house, I felt terrified. It was if every single cell in my body was screaming for me to run and never look back. My palms were sweaty and I had trouble controlling my breathing. It felt like I would shit a brick at any moment.

I stepped on the porch, wiping my palms on my pants and rung the doorbell. Before I could ring it again, the door pulled open and a really pale, blonde haired man answered the door.

"Good evening, Dr. Cullen," I said when my voice finally returned to me.

"Trevor, hello. Please come in," he smiled politely but there was a hard glint in his eyes. I swallowed and stepped into the house. As soon as I did, I was bomb rushed by this little bouncing pixie-Alice of course.

"Hi Trevor!' she said, happily. I had never seen a girl so small have so much damn energy.

"Hi Alice. Thanks for the directions."

"No problem," she danced back over to the tall, blonde guy who kind of looked like Dr. Cullen, only there was no smile on his face. I believe his name was Jasper.

With all of the tension in the room-and yes, there was a lot of it-I didn't hear Dr. Cullen close the front door, and I definitely didn't hear him behind me.

"So, Trevor," he said clasping his hand on my shoulder-it took every thing I had not to wince when he did-"I would like to introduce you to my family. This is my wife Esme." As he said her name, a beautiful woman with caramel colored hair appeared at his side. She smiled brightly, shaking my hand.

"Hello Trevor, it's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Cullen."

"Please, call me Esme."

"And this is our son and daughter, Edward and Bella," Dr. Cullen continued.

Bella waved shyly. She was very cute, she shouldn't feel the need to be so shy. Edward narrowed his eyes into slits before throwing a quick nod towards me. Ok, I guess I won't be making his top ten on MySpace anytime soon.

"Emmett and Rosalie."

Now I'm sure everyone in Forks recognized these two. Possibly the most beautiful blonde in the world and Emmett...very well may have been the scariest guy in the world. She didn't smile, but she bore no hostile look, just an appraising one. Emmett on the other hand, slapped his hand on my shoulder with so much force, I almost fell over.

"How are you doing, Trevor?"

"I'm fine, Emmett," I said forcing myself to man up some courage. He was bigger than me, definitely stronger than me, but he had no reason to dislike me...right?

"Good," he leaned over to my ear and whispered so quickly, I almost didn't hear it. Almost. "Because if you hurt my little sister, you'll never throw another pass as long as you live, comprende?"

He stepped away from me and went to stand beside Rosalie. She still watched me appraisingly. I didn't exactly know what to make of Emmett's threat. I would never hurt Jasmine, but why did he feel so attached to her all of a sudden? Weird.

"Jasper and you already know Alice."

Alice was still bouncing excitedly and Jasper was still glaring at me. A nervous fear crept over me again. This was beginning to be a little too much. Where was Jasmine?

Finally, Alice stepped aside and there she was. My little goddess in her own right. All of my fears disappeared when she smiled at me. She smiled sweeping her hair behind her ear. Her beautiful skin seemed to glisten with every move she made. She was dressed in a jean dress that stopped about three or four inches above her knees and dark blue heels that made her taller. I couldn't help but to think that these heels would make it easier for me to kiss her tonight. I tried not to stare, but she looked too sexy. This was the most I had ever seen of her legs and a part of me hoped it wouldn't be the last time. Behind me, I heard a growling sound?

"Is there a dog in here?"

Everything seemed to be going fine, all except for the hard stares from Jasper and Edward and the whispered threat from Emmett. Even Carlisle acted like one of those fathers sizing up his daughter's first date. But, all of their threats seemed secondary the second Trevor looked at me. He seemed as if he was completely lost in me. I doubt he knew he was staring at me with his mouth slightly open. Even so, he looked amazing. I didn't realize that we were moving closer and closer to one another until someone growled. Before Trevor asked about a dog, I looked over to see Bella pinch Edward's arm. He winced ever so slightly and it took everything I had not to laugh. Little Bella hurting big Edward? Didn't seem that likely to me. Edward rolled his eyes quickly, looking off in the other direction. As Trevor helped me put on my jacket, Carlisle began to explain to Trevor how they were responsible for me now and how he had to have me home at a certain time, but I faded out into my own thoughts. It touched me that the Cullen's cared so much and that they even considered me as a part of their family. It had been so long since I had a family that cared for me so. The thought almost made me tear up. Edward looked at me with a small smile. God, I swear sometimes he can read my mind! He quickly looked at the floor as if it was suddenly very interesting.

"I understand completely, Dr. Cullen. I will have her back by midnight."

"And not a second later," Carlisle warned. His concern was so overwhelming that I reached out to hug him. He seemed a little surprised at first but he hugged me back before quickly returning to Esme's side.

Once we were outside, Trevor heaved a huge sigh of relief. "I know you like them, half pint, but don't you find them just a little bit creepy?"

"No, they're harmless. They're just wary because of my condition. So, what's the plan?"

"Double feature and then dinner." He opened the door for me, helping me climb into the truck. As he walked around the other side, I could see Emmett and Jasper watching from the windows.

"I'll be back before you know it guys." When I said this, they both disappeared from the windows. I'm not sure why I thought that they could hear me.

On the way to Port Angeles, Trevor had his iPod connected to his stereo, so while we talked I surfed though it.

"Ugh, why do you like this song?"

"Because it's Katy Perry and I like her voice! If you don't like it why do you have it on your iPod? Huh? Huh?" I said, poking his ribs.

He blushed and said, "Because I know you like it and...I think the concept of two girls kissing is hot."

"Ugh, pig!" I said jokingly. I continued to search through his iPod until I found the Brian McKnight tab. Leaning back in the seat, I closed my eyes and started to sing.

I can't remember why we fell apart
From something that was so meant to be, yeah
Forever was the promise in our hearts
Now, more and more I wonder where you are

"Okay, okay. You have some chops, but uh, listen to these pipes," he said clearing his throat just as the chorus ended.

Still have your picture in a frame
Hear your footsteps down the hall
I swear I hear your voice, driving me insane
How I wish that you would call
To say

Trevor always had a beautiful singing voice. We rode the entire way to Port Angeles singing along to different songs from his iPod. We walked into the movie theater a few minutes before the first movie began. The Edge was a very big theater but it still had nothing on CityPlace in West Palm Beach. Trevor paid for our tickets and bought us both combination trays of popcorn, soda and candy.

"I hope this stuff won't ruin your appetite," he whispered beside me.

"How well do you know me again?"

After that, Obsessed with Beyoncé Knowles and Idris Elba started and we didn't talk until the movie ended. We walked around for a little bit, stretching our legs until the lights went off again. The next movie we watched was the new X-Men spinoff X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I liked this movie a little bit better. I love action and it was nice to know that Logan loved somebody besides that finicky Gene Grey. When it ended, Trevor took me to this new restaurant they opened a few months ago, the Lauriol Plaza.

We were seated at a table in the back by a very friendly hostess who continuously gave Trevor the eye.

"Yeah, I'll have a Pepsi," he said, refusing to make eye contact with our server.

"All right, and you miss?" Even though she was talking to me, she refused to turn and acknowledge me. I was in too good of a mood to make a fuss about it.

"Pink lemonade."

After she left to get our drinks, Trevor hit me with his adorable smile. "Are you having a good time tonight?"

"The best. I still can't believe you waited this long to ask me out."

"I know, I guess I was just scared of ruining our friendship. If this doesn't work out for ever reason-."

"Trevor, I love you. I've always loved you and I know in time, you'll feel the same way about me."

"That's where you're wrong, Jasmine."

Oh no. Why did I tell him that so soon? Why couldn't I just wait, give us more time to see what happens?

"I already do."

"When did you turn into such a charmer?" I said dabbing at my eyes with a napkin from the table.

We started our meal off by ordering salads. Mine was the Special House Salad and Trevor had the small Caribbean salad. It took about ten minutes for them to bring out our main course, but Trevor and I passed the time by talking. When the food finally came, neither of us wasted time. Trevor had the Bistec a la Criolla, which is a 12. Oz. mesquite grilled New York sirloin with sautéed Spanish onions, with white rice and black beans on the side. I had the Saltado de Pollo, which was a chicken thigh sautéed with tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, jalapeno peppers, potatoes, cilantro with Peruvian sauce. Mine also had white rice and black beans. Throughout dinner, neither of us really talked. That's just how I am. If I'm eating something really good, you won't hear a peep out of me until I'm finished. Of course, Trevor had to change all that by sticking his fork over in my plate.

"Ow!" he said, after I slapped his hand. "What the hell was that?"

"That's called ‘reach over here again and you'll pull back a-." He swiftly cut me off, by stuffing a piece of his sirloin in my mouth. Ha, I can just imagine what the Cullen's would think about that!

We left the restaurant around eleven and drove to the Baskin Robbins down the street.

"What do you want, half pint?"

"Hmm, how about a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough 31i0; Below soft serve."

"And I'll have a Heath 31i0; Below soft serve."

We took our ice cream back to his truck and he parked us under this large oak tree. We sat there talking, listening to music. He had the Jamie Foxx playing in the background, setting the mood. As I ate my ice cream, I could feel his eyes on me.

"Jasmine," he whispered softly.

I turned to him with a teasing smile. "What? No half pint?"

"Not right now." he took the ice cream out of my hand, setting it in the cup holder next to his. I moved closer to him, leading with my body, no longer with my mind. He caressed my face, sliding his hand through my hair. This was it. There would be no disruptive school bells, no inquisitive classmates. Just me, him, and our desires. He pressed his lips against mine, and could barely suppress my anxious moans. My body tingled as he rubbed my face, my neck, my arms and my thighs. I moaned again, begging him for more. He answered hungrily, his mouth devouring mine as our tongues danced restlessly together. I felt his lips abandon mine and venture towards my jaw and down to my neck.

"Ahh," I moaned loudly as he found my sensitive spot. Realizing his discovery, Trevor sucked on my neck like a vamp thirsting for blood. I stroked his neck and chest as my burning body turned into cream underneath his touch. Endless minutes later, we slowed to a stop, catching our breaths.

"I guess I have to get you back to the Cullen's." Though I could tell that he didn't want to leave me.

"Yes, you should take me home now," I said with a longing sigh.

He started the truck with me leaning on his shoulder, holding his hand the entire way. Trevor parked his truck in front of the house and walked me up to the porch. I noticed that a few of the lights were still on. I guess most of them had already gone to bed.

"I had a great time with you tonight, Trevor."

He turned to me as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Me too, half pint."

I sighed, rolling my eyes. "Really? I'm already back to half pint?"

"I can't just let half pint go. How else is everyone going to know that you're still my girl? You are my girl aren't you?"

"For as long as you want me to be," I whispered pressing my lips against his.

We both jumped back from each other when someone cleared their throat loudly. Carlisle stood at the door with a polite smile on his face, checking his watch. "It's 12:01."

I held back a smile and pecked Trevor on his cheek before promising to call him. As soon as I set foot inside the house, Alice, Rosalie and Bella swarmed on me with questions.

"Where did you go?"

"What movie did you watch?"

"Did you hold hands?"

"Guys, guys, this will all be answered in due time. Just let me take a shower so I can go ahead and start on these vision treatments."

They nodded settling down on the couch. The guys sat with them, talking softly. I couldn't really listen, my mind was still buzzing with the fact that Trevor and I were a couple now. I showered quickly and dressed in my UM green pajamas. I still can't believe he stuffed his sirloin in my mouth.

"WHAT?" I heard a very loud growl from downstairs. What the hell was that? I opened the door to find Edward staring at me with an enraged expression, the other Cullen's behind him.

"Edward, what the hell? Are you all right?"

"Did he hurt you, Jasmine?"

"What? Who? What are you talking about, Edward?"

"I'm talking about what you said just now!"

I kept a straight face as I looked at the others questioningly.

"Edward, what is this about?" Bella said, touching his arm to calm him down.

He calmed down slightly. "Jasmine said that she couldn't believe he stuffed his sirloin into her mouth."

Emmett snickered a little at this. The other shot him disapproving looks and he quickly quieted him down.

"Edward, I didn't say that."

"Yes you did! I heard you. Did he force himself on you?"

"No, Trevor didn't do anything."

"Then what the hell is that?" he said, pushing my hair off my shoulder. From their gasps, I guessed that there was a large hickey forming on my neck.

"You're damn right," Edward answered. Wait. Answered?

My mouth fell open slightly and Edward stared at me with a horrified expression. "Oh. My. God."

"Ok, will someone please explain to me what is going on?" Esme said, just as confused as the others.

"I didn't say he stuffed his sirloin into my mouth. I thought he stuffed his sirloin into my mouth. And just now, when you said you're damn right, I didn't say anything out loud, Edward."

"Jasmine-." Edward began as the others stared at us in silence.

"Don't you dare try to tell me anything Edward Cullen if it doesn't involve you saying, ‘I can read minds!'" I was upset that he had been reading my mind the entire time, but I was even more excited that I was finally unraveling the fragile fabric of the Cullen family secrets.

"All right, family meeting," Carlisle said calmly. We followed him down the stairs into the dining room. I wasn't sure what would happen next, but I was positive of one thing. No one would walk away from this table without giving me some answers.
