"The window?" I asked. I couldn't possibly jump two stories down. That is utterly impossible for a klutz like me. I will probably just fall. I am more than likely still klutzy.
"It's the most convenient exit. If you're scared, I can carry you." Edward said and put on my favorite crooked smile.
"We have all eternity and you are worried about the time it will take to exit the back door?" He frowned at that and I worried I had said something wrong but then he spoke.
"Renesmee and Jacob are downstairs..." He trailed off and I understood exactly where he was going.
"Oh." Was all I could mutter. I jumped the roof and angled my heels so the balls of my feet would catch the impact of the jump. He smiled at me.
"What?" I asked. He was close to laughing.
"Nothing, it's just, that was graceful even for a vampire." He said with his world famous crooked smile. Emmett didn't laugh so I knew it must be true. I would have to get used to that. I then noticed the shoes Alice had put on me. Silver stilettos were never a good match for me so I unlaced them and threw them up. A little too hard I guess but Alice caught them and started bantering on about how mush the shoes cost. I would really have to get used to how much strength I contained in me for the near future.
We dashed at an amazingly fast speed and reached the river. We jumped it and I went father. That would be because I was stronger and I could push myself harder to go farther. Edward caught up and we smelt blood immediately.
"Let your senses takeover. It is easy, love." Edward told me in a reassuring voice. I closed my eyes and breathed in an unneeded deep breath. I smelt blood in the north and dashed towards the smell.
I spotted a mountain lion and pounced. The lion pawed at my dress and my granite skin but was no match. Not even a small scratch was left on my body. I let him fight for a while. Hunting was rather fun but I knew it needed to be serious as well. I sunk my razor sharp teeth into the neck of the lion and drank the blood.
The moisture was delicious. It soothed the burning feeling in the back of my throat. The liquid poured down my throat like hot tea and a cold. The soothing feeling was relieving. I understood now why Edward's favorite was mountain lion. It is delicious. If I were human I would have been repulsed by this but now...I am a vampire and this is a lie a heavenly drink to me. The animal was quickly being drained but it still had blood in it. I drank it. This animal tasted like a floral scent with vanilla. Like nectar from a flower to a bee. I wish I could just drink and drink. If only this animal would last forever. I got greedy and drank faster. Then...nothing. I could taste no more sweetness down my throat. I must have sucked him dry. I got up and pushed the beast aside to see my darling Edward observing me. He smirked and came over to me.
"With a few more years, no blood will escape you luscious lips." He slid his finger across my lip to pick up a bead of blood. He licked it off and then kissed me. He gave me the freest kiss I could imagine. His guards were down and at that moment I realized I wasn't that fragile human I used to be.
