Three weeks later, Jasper and I were seated in his bedroom. His family had been more then happy to take us in after his revelation to them earlier that I knew what they were. Cara remained slightly reluctant but even she was adjusting. I think it was doing her good to be in a family environment.

"So, are you glad I didn't leave?"

"Of course"

"How glad?" I asked.

"What would you have done if I had left?"

"Hmm...well I had two options. One, I accept it and then end up going mad with loneliness for the remainder of my immortal life which would be until the world ended because I have no intention of dying"

"What was the second option?"

"I follow you and stay beside you no matter where you go"

"Would you love me even when I was old and wrinkled?"

"I'd treasure every wrinkle," he teased.

"Would you? Really?"

"Alice, without you I don't think my life would have any meaning. So I'd follow you forever, even when you're old and grey. And if you died, then I'd dig you up and keep your body in my wardrobe"

"That is verging on stalking"

"What? Dead stalking?"

"Yes, and that is vaguely creepy"

"Okay, what can I do to show my love in a non-creepy way?"

"Be yourself"

"Well, I am undead. Doesn't that count as creepy?"

"No. do you want to know why?"

"Why?" he asked, intrigued.

"Because you are incredibly good looking, very charismatic and you have a fantastic personality. I think that more then makes up for any possible creepiness emanating from your lack of life"

"Is that so?"

"Yes, and also, I find you being undead very...cool" he raised an eyebrow.

"You try coming up with the right word! Just because you have been alive for years and have an extensive vocabulary does not mean the rest of the world does!" he
kissed me. When he'd stopped.

"Was that because you wanted me to shut up?" I asked.

"I enjoy your ramblings but I can only go so long without kissing you"

"Well, you never have to worry about that. I'll always be here to kiss you"

"If you had moved, wouldn't you want to lead a normal life? You know a vampire free life?"

"I doubt it" jasper, if only you knew. I can never lead a normal life. I sighed.

"What's wrong?" he asked, concerned.

"I'm fine"

"You forget, I can tell when you're lying"

"As can your brother"

"Yes, but you knew that before you came into my family. How?"

"Mind readers walk like they've been straddling a horse for too long" there was a burst of laugher from downstairs.

"So that's why Edward walks like that!" exclaimed Emmett.

"Does everyone have a tell?" asked Jasper.

"Potentially. Some people are just hard to figure out"

"What's yours?"

"Why would I tell you that? That kind of thing you need to work out for yourself" I told him.

"Awww! No far!" he said. I shook my head at him.

"Life isn't fair, Jasper" how true that was. I should have had a normal life with my parents. Worried about boys and homework instead of vampires.

"I want to go outside"

"It's sunny. I want to enjoy it," I said "Please?"

"How could I say no?" he muttered. I stood up.

"Do you want to try something interesting?" he asked.

"How could I say no?" I said. He grinned and swept me into his arms.

"Please...no!" I shrieked as he jumped out of his window. We landed in the garden. It was beautiful. The cherry blossom was falling around me like fragrant snow. Jasper shrugged off his jacket and the diamond sparkles reflected off everything, making it even more beautiful. I spun around. Then I realized he was looking at me in a strange way.

"How did I get this lucky?" he asked. He kissed me. I kissed him back, my arms wrapping around him, his fingers locking in my hair. Our tongues danced with each other. My world was perfect. For however short a time.
