Pain and Suffering
This is a one-shot in Jane's POV about her life before joining the Volturi. It is when Aro turns her as well and why she is always so mad.
I wanted to get my story of why I thought Jane was always so mean. I like Jane so I wanted to write this. Enjoy!

"Run, my kids. Don't look back. These people are not nice. If you don't leave now you will be hurt." My mother said to us in a panicked voice.
"But mother, we won't leave you!" We screamed at her. She shook her head and tears fell out. She put a hand on each of our shoulders. I leaned my head on her hand.
"You don't have a choice. Run!" She said and then ran to open the door. She gave us pleading looks and then left. I heard loud voices and banging on the doors. The door gave way in the other room and we screamed. They yelled things like ‘witches' and ‘kill them'. I didn't fully understand. They were confusing. We were not witches. We did nothing wrong. We helped people. We were only different. We could hurt people that harmed anyone we loved. Maybe that's why. But that isn't evil or witch craft.
"Get those kids! They are the main problem!" A man yelled. He ran towards me and picked me up. Another man picked up my brother.
"Alec! What's going on?" I asked him in a feared voice. He looked scared. He looked helpless at the same time as well.
"I don't know Jane. I will do anything to save us though. Just wait and see." He said to me in a loving but scared voice. He was shaking now. The fear was pure now. I saw a man come up to him with a pan. He wouldn't harm my little brother if I had anything to do. I pushed my anger towards the man and he fell down to the ground in agony. Good, he would know what I felt like.
"So you want to cause pain do you? Well witch. How do you like it?" The man behind me said and then some men brought in my parents. They had gashes covering their body and were bleeding to death. They were crying for them to spare us, that they were the witches and not us but by now, I knew the truth. We were evil and they were going to kill us.
One of the men took a long knife out- not a sword, a knife- and slashed my mother's neck. She fell to a ground with a thump and the blood poured out. Tears welled up in my eyes and I bawled.
"How do you like the pain? This is what you have cursed upon the whole village!" The man yelled at me. I looked over at Alec. He was unconscious. They moved toward my father who was now whimpering over mother's dead body. He was covered in her blood. The knife was cleaned and drawn again. This time, instead of a fast slash they slowly glided it along my father's neck. How dare they! My anger overpowered my sorrow and the pain came out from under me. The man fell to the floor and writhed.
"Such a fascinating power." A man with red eyes exclaimed. He moved swiftly toward the men with such speed that it caused wind to be blown throughout the house.
The man hit all the men with such power that thunder rushed to my ears. They were all dead by the looks of it. Tears were pouring out of my eyes now. The man came over to me and I knew my life would be taken to day. The man saw the fear and chuckled lightly to lighten the mood.
"Don't worry. I won't hurt you. My name is Aro and I am here to help. You see, you have an interesting power that I would like and I would like to know if you would care to join my coven." He said. I was confused. What coven? That sounded rather mysterious.
"My apologies, I am a vampire. I am the leader of the Volturi. Would you like to join us?" He asked. I considered what he was offering. He was offering freedom and a family. He was offering a life. I nodded and looked at my brother with worried eyes. Aro noticed this and put a hand on my shoulder.
"I am interested in your brother's power as well." He said. I nodded and he nodded his acknowledgment and lifted my face.
"In order to change you, you will go through much pain. I will see you in three days. It will burn." He said and then lowered his mouth to my neck. He bit down and I felt the fire consume me. This was the opening to a new life and freedom and respect.
I would make whoever caused me pain, revenge. They killed my family so they would suffer. With much pain and suffering. I would not show weakness. I will not be nice!
See you soon, brother. I though and drifted into the pain.
