APOV

“Don’t you just love my shoes!” I cried to Jasper, just home from my recent shopping escapades.

“Don’t you already have those in 6 different colors darlin?” He asked me with a confused look on his face.

“Yes… but these are teal, and teal is going to be the must have color of the next season. Honestly jasper, after all this time I would’ve figured you would have felt my love for shoes already!” I scolded him playfully.

“I feel it, but I don’t understand it.” He spoke, still confused by it.

Just as I was about o go and show my spoils to Rose, I fell to my knees. I was hit with a vision so vivid; it would have made me nauseous had I been able to feel nausea.

“Jasper!” I cried. He was there before I had a chance to finish his name with a look of horror on his face, no doubt because of the feelings I was radiating.

“Alice, what it is? What’s wrong?” He desperately asked me as the rest of my family filed into our bedroom, minus one.

“It’s Maria. I just got a vision that she plans to create an army!” I stated, still confused by what I saw.

“An army?” Everyone whispered.

“It’s all very jumbled, like snapshots of what she’s planning. From what I can gather, she wants to make the south and south west, including Mexico, her territory and exterminate all other ‘competition’ in her way. It hasn’t started yet, but with what I’ve seen, if something isn’t done soon, it’s going to cause a massive war, larger than what happened before. There will be high human casualties.” I said.

“Let the Volturri take care of it, the always do.” Rosalie said dismissively.

“That’s just it, the Volturri must be aware that this could possibly be an issue, as I’ve seen what they’ve decided to do if she goes through with this. They will go to Arizona, find her, restore peace, kill her, and eliminate anyone associated with her. Aro will see her attachment for you, Jasper, and he’ll come for you. They’ll kill you too because of association. We need to stop this before it happens!” I rushed the explanation out, almost screaming by the end of it. I would not lose Jasper over this. I would not allow it.

Everyone looked at me processing what I just explained to them; all but one. Edward was probably in the slums somewhere throwing himself a pity party.

“Are you sure Alice?” Carlisle asked, eyeing Jasper with concern due to the blank look on his face.

“Yes, quite sure. There’s no wavering from her decision, it’s just a matter of when. The details are a little jumbled though.”

“Esme call Edward, tell him to meet us-“

“-In Tucson Arizona.” I said, cutting Carlisle off.

“Tucson?” Carlisle asked as Esme went to call Edward.

“I’m sure of it. It’s where she’s hiding.” I answered. I looked over at Jasper, for the first time really taking in his withdrawn expression. He looked pale, obviously, but even more so, and c his eyes were pitch black, completely devoid of emotion. I knew this was his biggest concern, that his past would catch up with him and put us in danger.

Suddenly, his face became alive with animation. He looked frighteningly angry, despite the beauty of his features.

“I knew I should have killed her when I left all those years ago and end her existence. It was only a matter of time before my past became the end of me. Alice, you’re staying here, along with the rest of you. This is my penalty, and I will not allow you all to be punished for my mistakes.” Jasper said sternly.

“You’re not getting rid of us that easily Jazz. We’re all going- Edward too, he’ll be in Tucson in 10.68 hours-“ I said as Esme entered the room again. “-and we’ll take care of this together. And don’t argue with me, just accept that your stuck with us.” I said, flashing him a dazzling smile.I’m sure he sensed I was not joking, because he didn’t fight me on my resolute decision to go with him. Besides, we’d go anyway. Emmett would complain everyday for eternity if we didn’t let him go.

Within 16 hours, we were all in Tucson, thankful to the unpredictable weather that it was storming outside when we got there. In our hotel room, planning out next move was oddly nice. Despite the looming threat of death, to be all together again was refreshing. Even Edward was there; back momentarily from his distraction tracking Victoria. Since he refuses to go back and beg for Bella’s forgiveness (which I often see him doing) because he honestly believes she is better off without him, he decided to try his hand at tacking. He chose Victoria due to the fact that she helped James in his search fro Bella. He really sucks at it though, because he has yet to find her.

He looks horrible too. No wonder he never visits anymore. He knows we’d just lecture him to accept the inevitable, and go back to Bella. Even Rose can’t deny that he needed her. He could still fix it. But fixing Edward is not the mission on hand right now, Jasper is. I have to make sure Jasper, my Jasper, is still going to be around to send eternity with me.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Edward stiffen, no doubt reminding him of the eternity he let slip away. So with that thought, I got to work replaying my vision for Edward, both of us trying to figure out what Maria’s next move was.
