Your Mother? Are you sure?” Mana asked me. I looked into his eyes and saw the panic in them. He knew my mom and he thought of her as his own mother. I felt the same kind of panic that I saw in his eyes. I nodded my head not trusting my voice that I knew would crack. My vision blurred from the tears that still came rushing out of my eyes.

“Oh Bella sweetie. Oh Bella.” He said into my ear as he held me tighter in his arms, trying to comfort me with soothing words. “Its alright, I’ll make sure its alright.Oh sweetie.”

But I knew the truth as well as he did. Nothing could make this right. No one and nothing could bring back my mother or Phil. Nothing. And that was final. I stayed in his arms as he rocked me back and forth and whispered sweet nothings in my ear. Minutes passed and still Mana rocked me, still comforted me. My eyelids were drooping and the blackness was getting ready to swallow me up. As my eyelids were closing ever so slowly I heard a faint whisper before the door shut behind him.

“Bye Bella. I love you.” The voice so sweet and lovely. The pain behind the words. Then I knew, I knew deep down, that he wasn’t coming back, ever. That was what hit me harder then my own mother passing away. I wanted Edward in my life. Although I didn’t love him like I used to I couldn’t let him just slip away again. I couldn’t let him leave at least not without letting me figure out my feelings for him first.

Suddenly anger boiled within me. How could he leave after what I said to him and him to me? How can he say one thing and then walk away. It wasn’t fair. That was not how the game was supposed to be played. How dare he show up out of nowhere and ruin my life and then when things are about to get back on track he ruins it again. Before I knew what I was doing I jumped out of Mana’s arms and raced to the door and flew the door open. Without looking I was about to race into the hall when I ran smack into a hard, stone figure. It was Edward. I looked up in surprise.

His eyes were deep in thought and surprised as well. His mouth curved up into a crooked smile that I once fell in love with. It seemed like a million years ago, when only it’s been less then two years.

“I thought you left?” I said surprised that my voice wasn’t rough with emotion.

“I did but…” he didn’t finish the sentence. Instead he left me to figure out the rest of it. Did he care? Is that why he came back? My head was spinning and my thoughts as well as my emotions were everywhere. “I just felt helpless. I didn’t even try to comfort you like your friend did. I felt horrible. I had to leave.”

“Where’s Alice?”

“She’s still in the hotel room. Im surprised you didn’t see her.”

“Um well I didn’t really look around.” I looked at the wall behind him, not wanting him to see that I was embarrassed. My eyes slowly made their way back to his. And just like before I was locked in a trance. Dazzeled where I stood. Overwhelmed with emotions that I bet he could feel. Like an old habit I slowly leaned toward Edward’s lips. His hands cautiously making their way around my hips as if asking permission and pulling me slowly towards him. Our faces were centimeters apart and coming closer and closer until finally, we kissed.
