“Hey Nessie!” he replied.

“Come in and meet my family.” I invited him.

He entered the house and looked at the room, and marveled over my family, he stopped and looked at me.

My father stiffened, but my mother caught his arm and cautioned him. I introduced him to everyone and hurried out the door before any questions could begin.

Before I could leave, Alice caught my eye and mouthed 'Have fun' and waggled her eyebrows. I shot her a look and practically dragged Josh out the door. We hopped in his car and drove away from my house.

“So, where are we going?” I asked.

“A movie in Port Angeles, something simple.” he replied. I nodded my head.

We talked about random stuff, my family, his family, which movie we wanted to see, our favorite movies, etc. Finally, we reached the movie, and I was enjoying myself.

Josh asked me what movie I wanted to see, and we decided on a random movie. We were sitting in the back, and halfway through the movie he put his arm around me. It reminded me of earlier today when Jake had his arm around me. I sighed, and instinctively leaned into his arms.

I remembered this wasn't Jake, I pulled away. When the movie finished, we decided to go out to eat. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a soda.

“So, if you don't mind my asking, why did you and Jacob break up?” Josh asked me.

“We decided we needed a break. You know, see other people.” I answered.

“Ah, are you gonna get back together?” he wondered.

“I'm not sure. Maybe” I looked down, embarrassed.

“Do you love him?” he was truly curious.

“I'm not sure. That's why we broke up.” I explained. He let the subject drop, he paid for the meal and we left. As we got in the car, he began to take me home and we were silent the whole way there, I thought about Jake.

Why couldn't I get him out of my head? After what seemed like just a few minutes, we were at my house.

“Can I walk you in?” he offered, I accepted.

We stood on the porch for a minute and he leaned toward me to kiss me.

His arms went on my waist and my arms wrapped around his shoulders. Jake's face appeared in my mind. Nothing but him. I imagined I was kissing him. I was wishing I was kissing him. I realized I wanted to be kissing him. Suddenly, the door opened to my complete horror. His pained expression killed me.

“Jake? What are you doing here?” I was horrified.
