Jacob’s Point of View

“Renesmee?” She entered like an apparition in white, not quite real but there. She was by herself, but I knew it would not be for long.

“Jacob.” Was all she said before I felt the cold gush of air move through my body, nearly knocking me off my damn feet. Then, just like that, she was in my arms. Warm, breathing, alive. I smelt her hair, touched her skin, felt her body so close to mine.

“I’ve missed you so much.” I tried to say but my voice broke, tears springing to the corners of my eyes.

“Shhh. Don’t say that. Just let me have this moment with you before it’s over.” We stood there in silence, just gazing at each other through tear filled eyes. In an instant she looked like the woman I used to know, that far away Nessie that could bring me to my knees. The playmate I had, the best friend I kept, the love I needed. She touched my face and I immediately felt old and withered, I smiled awkwardly and she frowned, her eyes glazed over and I could tell she was remembering.

“I always loved your boyish smile, so different from what I’ve experienced these last two years. It brigs me back to youth, makes me feel young again I guess.” I nodded thoughtfully.

“You are young Ness, forever young.” She laughed.

“So much has changed, since I’ve left. You’ve grown from the hurt, I can tell.” I was the one who laughed now.

“Yeah right Renesmee, if anything, I think I’ve been aging backwards since you left. No use in getting old if it’s not with someone I love.” She sighed and I waited for her sweet rejection. This is the part where she tells me she doesn’t love me anymore, this is the part where it ends for good, the closure I’ve been waiting for, the silence of another love lost.

“Jacob.” Her voice was wispy and quiet filling the air and reminding me of heartache. “God, Jacob I love you so much.” The squeak in her voice is what got me, made me realize what she was saying. She broke out it hushed sobs, collapsing in my arms, holding me close and kissing my cheeks. I hugged her too but my head was all jumbled and confused, I felt very numb to what was happening right in my arms.

"Renesmee?" I asked, still stunned by the pure weight of her words.

"I was happy for a while, I really was, but then as time passed he began to change. Not in a mean way, not even in an annoying or irritating way but in a cold way. The Volturi had made him cold and my old Felix was gone." I stared at her still trying to comprehend.

"Even before all of that, I still thought of you. You were the last thing I thought about at night, even though I fought with myself to forget about you. I just wanted to forget Jacob but I couldn't, it was impossible. When Dawn saw you coming I knew that this would happen because Dawn has always been unhappy there...it was just a matter of time before he left." She had stopped crying now but I continued to hold her close.

"Renesmee, my Renesmee, I love you." I whispered as she leaned in and kissed me hard on the lips. I felt like I was going to loose consciousness right there.

"I love you too Jacob. Stay with me please, don't leave me." Her breathe was cool on my skin but only seconds later I felt a familiar breeze penetrate my shirt that sent chills down my spine.

"Vanessa!! Why would you do this to me?!" Felix's roar was deafening but he didn’t lunge or bear his teeth. He just stood there, isolated from our embrace, in a sorrowful trance of betrayal. His eyes darted frantically around this room and he grimaced. Renesmee slowly stood up and walked up to Felix hand outstretched to touch him.

"Felix..." She laid her hand on his face and he flinched slightly. I almost saw his heart rip right out of his chest and fall limp on the floor. Behind him were Demitri, Jane, the Cullen's and somewhere beyond them, Dawn and Leah crept behind the trees.

Demitri stepped forward placing a hand on Felix's shoulder.

"Brother." Immediately Felix's eyes turned black and he shrugged the hand off, clenching his fist and growling. Renesmee stepped back pausing for a second to survey the enraged Felix.

"No." The whimpered but angry Felix looked at her and then looked at me just before he gripped the door frame and pulled a big wooden chunk of my house off, I crouched forward and phased.

It happened all at once, me phasing and lunging, Felix crashing into me, the light shimmer in the air that wasn’t quite wolf but something like it. I quickly dismissed the strange phase in favor of protecting my own skin. The rock hard bulk of his body collided into mine and I heard the crack of ribs and other bones, but I struck in and out, faster then he could move, healing faster then he could see. His shaken emotional status hindered him and made him weak, he lunged before he thought about it, giving me a huge advantage.

"Stop Felix! You knew this would happen. I don't want to kill you." I found my self saying.

The vampires and shape shifters and hybrids in the room all gasped in astonishment at my words and I felt surprised enough to lose focus for a half a second letting Felix grab onto my arm and crush it in his grip. I heard the loud crunch of bones but also the sound of thunder as if it were right in my living room. I looked around for Felix, no longer gripping my arm in his steal grip and saw a large, the largest I’ve ever seen, white wolf crouching on top of him, teeth barred, snapping and snarling in his face. The room was quiet, only my labored breathing and the wolf’s angry growls pierced the air. I looked around at all the shocked faces, including Leah's, no longer beside Dawn. Felix's anger melted from his face and inched his way from the wolf, teeth still showing, angry and malignant. He reached out to the wolf and it snapped at his hand, his teeth cracked together making a loud popping noise.

"Dawn?" Felix whispered confused and hurt. The hurt didn’t last long, in that same second, Felix's eyes turned black again and it was so sudden that not even the big white wolf could suspect what he did next. His hands reached out quickly, clawed and ready to hurt. He seized the wolf’s throat in his arms, and before I could stop myself, I lunged. There was a loud yelp and I felt the metallic taste of Felix in my mouth and heard the shrill scream of metal ripping as I tore him apart, piece by piece. I heard the silent minds of the wolves next to me race with confusion and amazement but most of all I heard the slow heartbeat of a vampire turned shape shifter.
