5. Chapter 5 - The Talk (BPOV)

Rating 0/5   Word Count 778   Review this Chapter

Alice dressed me up in black tight jeans and a blue velvet top with a very low V-neck. I added my favourite black pumps and a black jacket. When I looked into the mirror I actually looked good, my skin didn’t look like paper it was as if the blue was bringing me back to life.

I decided to drive on my own today. Alice new why but I didn’t want anyone else, especially Emmet knowing. I drove 100 miles per hour, it was a good thing Chief Swan knew my driving habits by now or I would have had stacks of fines. I pulled up to a small double storey house. I was nervous but at least I wasn’t hungry, I took a deep breathe then climbed out of the car.

I headed to the front door and knocked softly hoping I was too late, but my hopes were crushed. The door flung open and there he stood. The boy that caused my dead heart to pound out of my chest. I noticed that he was taller than what I was, his hair was a beautiful bronze and his lips a soft mesmerising red. “Edward, I hope you don’t mind but I want to talk to you before school and this is as private as it would get.” As I spoke I fought the habit of breathing. He merely nodded then stepped back and opened the door. I walked straight into the kitchen, it was small and decorated in bright yellow and unmatched furniture, Esme would have a stroke if she saw this. “I think we need to talk to Bella, I was hoping to see you today.” His voice caught me off guard it was so melodic, as if it was a song that De Bussy composed. I walked to the table in the centre of the kitchen and sat down, he soon followed suite. “Why don’t you start.” I gave him and encouraging nod hoping he would do as asked. “Sure, I don’t see why not.” he looked at me, his emerald eyes shimmering with hope and curiosity. “Well Bella I think I know what you are, well let’s say I have my theories.” Oh dear. This wasn’t what I expected but let’s see where it leads. “Why don’t you share them.” I leaned forward my eyes captivated by his features. “Ok, but promise not to laugh.” I simply nodded. “Well I think you’re a Vampire.” I immediately wondered if vampires could go into a shock induced coma, at that point I wish I could. “And how did you figure that out dear Edward.” I asked curiously. “You never eat, your eyes look as if you suffered from a broken nose, your skin is as pale as paper, and I had some help from a friend.” Oh dear. “A friend?” he nodded . ‘Well a Quileute to be precise.”

it felt as if my eyes were going to bulge out of my head. how could they violate the treaty, I would have to talk to Carlisle about this. “I see.” he looked at me, a soft smirk playing on his lips as if he just won a grand prize. “ I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. “So what did you wanna talk about?” his voice rang through my ears. “It seems like you spoke for both of us but I need to remind you Edward, its not a good idea for you to be around me.” he scoffed at that then leaned forward and whispered. “If losing my humanity is what I need to sacrifice to be around you then I will.” how idiotic of him. “So the Lioness fell for the Lamb.” “What a stupid Lamb.” he responded. “What a masochistic Lioness.” at that we both glanced at the clock and realised we had ten minutes to get to school.

“Go get your things, I’ll drive.” he looked at me surprised then ran up the stairs, I could hear him grab his bag and slam the door shut. I headed towards the door to start the Volvo. I got the heater running and waited about two minutes when he appeared on the porch, he locked the door and then headed to my car, I could hear his heart beat so clearly, the blood pumping through his veins were driving me insane but I had to ignore it. Carlisle warned me about this and this was the path I chose. He opened the door and climb in. “Buckle up.” as I said it I started the engine and headed towards the highway and straight towards school. This day was going to be interesting.
