Okay, so I've read a few fanfics that have Bella and Edward meeting differently and with different personalities so I though I'd give it a go.

Just great.

How on Earth does my dad expect me to be happy if we move house?

Seriously, does that man have a brain?

I sighed as I looked out of the window of the new car dad bought me.

Aston Martin.

The Vanquish.

Nice and sleek, but I really didn’t need it. Because of that, the first thought in people’s head would be ‘Rich Snob’.

But unfortunately, it’s the only car I can drive to school.

I quickly parked my car, under all the eyes of gob-smacked fish-people, gawking and scrutinizing my every move.

Stupid boarding school and its stupid gawking fish-eyed-people looking at the new girl.

I chewed my gum more angrily.

Cautious of my surroundings, I walked quickly to the front desk.

When I was sure no one was looking, I pulled the leggings down, that my skirt had hid, so that you could see them, and not my skinny chicken legs.

“Hi, I’m Bella Swan. I’m new here,” I told the little lady at the front desk.

“Ah. You prefer Bella then?” she asked.

“Yeah,” I said.

“Oh, I’ll just change that on the school register.” She tapped away at the keys on the keyboard. “There. Done and done.” She handed me a slip. “Just get this signed by all your teachers today.” I smiled a huge smile at her, something I really stupidly do, and slipped the slip into my pocket. “Have a nice day.”

I took the school map out and wandered around school perimeter, not really focusing on anything or anyone watching me and dragging around my many bags.

Then I heard my name.

“Bella?” asked a high sweet voice. My head snapped up to the voice, not my name. I’ve only heard one voice that sounded remotely like that.

“Alice?” I asked, disbelievingly. I slowly turned around on my heel.

“Alice!” I shouted in joy, at the exact time Alice shouted, “Bella!” We embrace each other. She spoke as slowly started to walk back inside one of the school buildings.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, just when I was about to ask her the same thing.

“Dad moved… again,” I said. “What about you? What are you doing here?” She hesitated for a split-second.

“Er… Well you know. Parents died,” – I gasped and squeezed her hand – “got adopted, and moved here.” Some of her bubbly-ness had died down a little. “So where is your sleeping quarters?” she asked, her bubbly-ness reappearing.

“Erm…” I consulted my slip. “South corridor, L21.” I looked up to find the biggest grin on Alice’s face.

“That’s my sleeping quarters! Ahh!” she squeaked, her high voice getting impossibly high. My mouth fell open.

“Seriously?” I asked, when Alice had stopped squealing and jumping around – and when I finally believed it. “I’m with you?” I asked, another huge smile, plastering onto my face! Alice nodded, happily.

I squealed with Alice.

* * *

Alice helped me with my bags to our room. For a small person, she can carry lots. And somehow managed to open the door.

She led the way into a mini palace.

Or least that’s my first impression.

A queen – seriously, the way she acted and looked she may as well have been – was sat on a four-post bed, with a hot muscled boy – well really he looked like a man, or a teacher – at her feet. They both stared at me as I stared all around the room.

The walls were all a royal rich color, chandeliers hanging everywhere, and two four-post beds.

“Wow,” was all I could mumble out.

“I know!” squeaked Alice. The queen’s sudden moved caught my eye.

“Come here a second Alice,” she mumbled, glaring at me as she dragged Alice away.

“Just a sec,” Alice told me, her grin still plastered to her face. I raised an eyebrow but let it go. Alice got dragged into the other room, whilst I was left with a stranger staring at me.

I sat down on one of the four-post beds – the one furthest from whoever he was.

I crossed my legs and leant back on my hands, throwing my head back as I took in every detail I could. My eyes suddenly fell upon the boy at the end of my bed.

How the hell had he moved from over there to here so quickly?

I must have been pulling a face because his face creased into a big grin.

“Emmett Cullen. Alice’s brother,” he stated, sticking his hand out to me.

“Nice to meet… Emmett,” I mumbled, not taking his hand. “Bella Swan. Alice’s… friend.”

“Alice made friends already?” he asked. I could only find humor in his voice.

“We’re childhood friends,” I replied sharply. He was already on my nerves. He raised an eyebrow.

“How that happen?” he asked.

“We grew up together. Then my mum kicked me out of the house and threw me to my father, who has kept moving me. He even moved me to England,” I stated. People have asked me so much about my history that it has just become a fact. And to be honest, I found it quite funny why my mum kicked me out.

“You got kicked out? Why?” he asked.

“She… Quote; ‘I don’t want anymore chatting shit back to me young lady! You’re gonna live with your dad! Uh-huh!’” I did my best to act out my mum’s voice but I don’t think it worked.

Why do I think that?

Because Emmett started laughing like he was on drugs. I smiled at his honesty, most people tried to hide it.

“Sorry, I can’t help but laugh,” he said, between laughs.

“Don’t worry, I’d rather you laughed than tried to hide it,” I replied.

“What did your mum mean when she said ‘chatting shit back’?” he asked, still trying to control his laughter.

“Well… I would basically answer back to anything she said. ‘No manners or discipline’ was another way she described me. I didn’t let anyone toy with me. If someone said to me they hate me shoes, well I’d say, without even thinking, I hate your face.” I tried to sum it up. I couldn’t and I shrugged. “No discipline.” Emmett laughed again. “Then when she threw me at my dad, I took that on board and tried not to answer back. So then if someone said they hated my shoes, I would stare at them and not say a word. So I went from having no discipline to being a pushover. So right now, it’s like a new leaf. Correct my errors. All that sortta crap.”

“It’s good to get a new start,” said a new voice. A soft, musical, velvety voice, coming from the room door. I stared in disbelief.

There, stood at my door, had to be the hottest guy alive. He wore a blue short-sleeved t-shirt that fitted his muscles perfectly, baggy black jeans, a crooked smile playing beautifully on his face. His hair was bronze and–

The next thing I knew my back was slightly in pain and I was staring at the ceiling. I heard Emmett laugh and I realized I must have fallen off the bed. I laughed too.

Then I laughed harder when I realized it was typical me to laugh at myself falling off the bed.

“Are you alright?” asked the bronze-haired boy. I opened my eyes, still laughing – well rather giggling.

He was leaning over me, half-smiling, half-concerned. He stuck his arm out to me to help me up.

“I’m fine,” I said, as my giggles were calming down. I was eager to take his offer. But as soon as I touched his hand, a tinkling electrical spark flew threw me, catching me off guard. I withdrew my hand, causing myself to fly backwards, almost into the bedside table.

Of course, Emmett laughed again.

“Seriously, kid. You’re killing me,” he said between laughs.

“Getta hold of yourself,” I sharply said to him, glaring at him as I did. “Is this the sortta guy you are? Laugh at other people when they get hurt?” I stood up without the new boy’s help. I walked up to Emmett, who was calming down. “’Cos that’s utterly hilarious, isn’t it?” I asked him, staring him in the face.

I felt the same electrical feeling as a hand touched my arm.

“Hey,” he whispered, behind me.

“Just watch it,” I muttered in Emmett’s face.

“What you all doing?” Alice half-shrieked, entering the room.
