My eyes traced over his features: the hard square of his jaw, he soft curve of his full lips- twisted into a smile now, the straight line of his nose, the sharp angle of his cheekbones, the smooth marble span of his forehead covered by his darkened bronze hair.
His eyes were wide, warm with a soft green, and framed by a thick fringe of black lashes. I dazed into them losing my train of thought...

“Edward…don’t be difficult!” She rolled her eyes then gave me a serious look obliterating all the evidence of her annoyance. “It’s your fault you asked the Queen of Vampires. Why didn’t you ask the Queen of medicines to save your Bella?” She said, with her annoying English accent.

The Queen of Vampires, also known as Valerie, had been helping different souls to save the people they left down on earth. She has long, black hair that you can rarely miss. Her face was always indescribably beautiful. When I stand right beside her you can smell the blood the she had been drinking out of the dead people in their graves. It wasn’t the musty, salty smell of blood but a mouthwatering, delicious scent that can make vampires, down on earth, have the worst blood lust they had ever had. Their instincts will go blind, and then the only thing in their mind will be attack and feed.

“Valerie, you know Catherine won’t easily give me that! She was supposed to be crowned a queen of bribery!”

“Okay!! Chilax Jose!”

We were walking down a hall of a kingdom where your next life is supposed to happen. But first you have to be judged if you were going to a King, or queen, or a slave. They use your records from earth, so the cleaner the record, the better life you will have in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom will never be in the same design. The kingdom can be in different images from any choice. It rarely happens that two souls have the same visual of a Kingdom.

For me, this whole hall is covered by frames of pictures of Bella and I together. From the first day we met till the day I left her. She is the only girl I will ever love. Each memory floated around the corridors, each stabbing my heart with a painful regret, that I oh, so believed I deserved. But at the same time, the scenery was perfect. Well, almost, at least.

“Edward. Listen to me. This is the only perfect solution that you will ever find than making her come here— and I know you don’t want that. So please… just be calm and be happy that Bella is alive and is walking around earth strong and can never die.” As she was talking I was looking down the floor that gave you a perfect sense of what was happening down on earth. I had been here for three days arguing with Valerie the whole time. I only had one day and twelve hours left until I can catch up with the time down on earth.

If I want to be with Bella I guess I just have to back down to earth…again. That was already my second life and finally found the right person, the love that I can be with for the rest of eternity. I had to consult the Queen of Reincarnation again. I hope she isn’t annoyed with me yet.

‘Come on Valerie, I have to go find Clara. I am going back to earth.”

Present Year

“Emmett! Come back here with my bra! This is not funny at all!” I ran down the stairs on full speed. I was about to open the door and run to find Emmett outside when I surprisingly saw my favorite bra hanging on the doorknob. I wonder what happened to Emmett?

I looked around the house finding myself alone. So I shrugged and went back up to my room.

Years have changed and so was all the things surrounding us. But the only thing that never changed was the love that was frozen inside my unbeating heart

I walked over to my dresser, opened the drawer, then took out the small, black, velvet box that held my necklace which was nestled between two white pillows.

I touched the two hearts as I tried to swallow the lump that was forming on my throat. I missed Robert so much.

The pain was slowly easing away as I thought about Robert being happy to where the next life was going to ber13;instead of being stuck at eighteen like me.

This necklace was the only reminder I had left from him.

“Bella!” I heard Alice call from downstairs.

I sighed . Before I went down to greet them I placed my necklace around my neck and let it freely dangle there for the world to see.

“The next surgery will be in less than twenty minutes and the other doctor is still not here yet!” I said, furious. Carlisle had persuaded me to work in the hospital because he knew that I would enjoy it. I did. I wanted a job to try to keep my mind of off other thingsr13; like wanting to be fused about something else, just like right now.

“Didn't he say he would here as early as possible?” I asked Mary, who keeps track of my schedule and my patients' appointmentsr13;like a personal secretary.

“Actualy... Dr. Cullen,” she started, her mouth formed a slight grimace as she narrowed her eyes, not wanting me to see her face. “He said he would be here at 2:59.”

“But the surgery is at 3:00!”

“I guess you have to do it without him.” She shrugged.

I sighed, hating people who were evasive. “You're right. Get the patient to the surgery room while I go get Carlisle.

I took off the mask that was on my face and let the light shine on the finished surgical spot of the patient. I had held my breath the whole timer13;I did not want to have a blood lust in the middle of saving a patient.

Carlisle, who substituted, checked the stitches to make sure they were perfect.

“Bella, no need to be fustrated about it.He's probably stuck in traffic,” Carlisle said, probably seeing the grimace on my face.

“Well, it's not like it to miss your first surgery on your very first day of your job!” I exclaimed as we exited the surgery room. Carlisle just shrugged and gave me his famous tight smile.

I rolled my eyes and then talked to the patient's familyr13;telling them the surgery went great ant the patient was safe. I left them with huge smiles on their faces, walking back to my office.

May was standing by my door carrying her daily clipboard. When she saw me she literally ran to me and started her ranting about the schedule of the day. “Mayr13;,” I said, calming her down by putting both of my hands on her shoulders. “I already know my schedule. You can save your voice for the stuff like calling Dr. Masen and asking him why he didn't show up.” I let go of her. Then I went to sit down on my big leather chair.

“Dr. Cullen... he's already here. He told me he was just late because he had 'personal' emergencies to do.” I stared at her, fumed.

“Wher is he?” I said through my clenched teeth.

“He's in the m-main lobby,” she stammerd, her fears fathomable.

I walked straight to the waiting area, not caring if May was catching up. Then there he wasr13;sitting on one of the comfy, waiting chairs, looking around innocent.

How could he have survived?

Luckily he was sitting on a chair that wasn't facing the hallway to my office. So the only thing I could see was his more pronounce bronze hair.

I could smell him. His heavenly smell of different scents; lilac, cinammon, roses, freshly cut grass, and many more that gave him an intoxicating smell.

He was a vampire.

What happened to the War?

I collected myself, trying not to get mad for not asking Alice for the omen of the day. You are tough and impenetrable, I thought to myself as iIslowly walked forward to the man I love.

Yes. I still do love him. I knew that my feelings will never change. That he owns me and no one else. But he left me. He left me thinking that he was dead. That he was in the depths of the earth, his body rotting probably in bones by now.

“Mr. Masen,” I said warily. I sighed in my head as my voice didn't choke out the words.

As he heard my voice he stiffened. Then he turned around, still sitting in his chair, letting me see his glorius face and his gold, lamenting, vivacious eyes.
