Bella's POV

"Well, Edward?" I said expectantly as I struggled to take out all sixty-two bobby pins out of my hair. Edward was laying motionless on his black leather sofa. He looked up, distracted from his train of thought. "What?" he asked, oblivious. I rolled my eyes. So he was going to play dumb. I made a biting motion with my teeth.

His face was puzzled, then understanding flooded his face. "Oh, That." He said. "Yes that." I replied. "We made a deal you know. That's why I married you." I reminded him. He gave me a uncertain, funny look. "Um, I thought you married me because you love me." I flushed crimson. "Well yeah, of course! I meant besides that." He chuckled lightly. "At least help me with your hair. Having a hairdo like that would only cause more agony for your three days." I grimaced. I knew this hair would be impossible to take out. Edward got up and began to slowly take out each pin from my hair.

He finally finished, and my hair fell down, stiff and curly. I shook it out, I felt Edward's eyes on me. "What?" I said, self-conscious. He laughed, "What, now I can't look at my own wife?" I fake-glared at him, and he laughed harder. "I'm going to go change now." I declared, looking at the ominous ruffles and layers of my huge wedding dress. I skipped lightly out the door. I was going to be a vampire in 3 days! I was almost giddy. I ran into Alice's bathroom, which she graciously shared with me, and pulled out a pair of comfortable pajamas. I didn't really care what I looked like, honestly, how attractive can someone writhing in pain for three days be?

I practically ran back into Edward's room, where he was waiting for me. I sat myself on the floor in front of Edward. "So you're sure, you want to be changed right now?" He asked me. "Yes." I said confidently. I had waited long enough. I wanted to be like him as soon as possible. "Alright then." He said, he stood up slowly and bent down and lifted me up with him. He carried me over to his black leather sofa and set me down on his lap. "I love you Bella." He whispered softly in my ear. I sighed contently. "I love you too." I said back. Everything was perfect. Nothing could ruin our love now.

Or so I thought.

Edward leaned down to kiss my lips, but he pulled back immediately. His eyes wild with fury. "Edward, what's wrong?" I asked frightened. "NO." He said snarling. "THEY CAN'T BE HERE!!" "Who? What? Is it the Volturi? What's wrong Edward?" I said terrified. He turned back to me with pained eyes. "The dogs have come." He whispered. No. Jacob was here. "What do they want?" I asked softly. "Bella, they want y--"

He was cut off by a vicious snarl and the sound of splintering wood. "Bella, stay here." Edward ordered me. "No! Please don't leave me! Don't fight Jacob!" Tears were streaming down my face. I didn't want anything to happen to either of them, especially Edward. "Please Bella, you have to trust me." He was interrupted by another vicious snarl. "I promise, I won't hurt him if I can help it. I've got to go Bella. I've got to help my family." I nodded silently, tears still streaming down my face. Edward was gone before I could blink. I could hear a commotion downstairs.

"Wait," I could hear Edward yelling as he fought. "Where's the fifth one?" Just then Edward's window was wrenched open. I spun around and saw Jacob. His eyes were hard and he grabbed me by the waist. "I'm sorry Bella." And began to drag me out the window. "EDWARD!!!!!" I screamed so loud it hurt my own ears. Jacob clamped his hand over my mouth. He leapt out the window gracefully and landed on the soft grass.

I never thought I would ever do this to Jacob, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I wriggled around until I was facing him and I kneed him as hard as I could in the groin. He immediately took his hands from restraining me to his painful spot, and he doubled over, moaning in pain. I took off into the forest as fast as my feet would carry me. I ran until the stabbing pain in my side was too much to bear. I collapsed on the ground in pain. I wondered how the fight had turned out. My eyelids felt heavy and they finally closed without my permission.

When I woke it was black out in the deep forest. I regretted coming out here. I had no idea what could be lurking in the darkness. The werewolves, or other unknown creatures in the darkness. I stood stiffly and wondered from which way I had come.
I was lost.
I was lost and I didn't know where to go.
"Edward?" I called hoarsly. I knew he couldn't hear me. The dark was terrifying. I didn't know what to do. I was lost in the woods, the temperature was dropping, and I had nothing with me. I began to cry once more.

There was a rustling of bushes. I yelped in terror, but then clamped my hand over my mouth. A tall, dark figure emerged from the bushes. There was absolutely no light, so I couldn't see the face, but the shape of the figure lead me to believe it was a tall male with dark hair. "Who's there?" I asked softly, still terrified. "Bella?" the voice was strangely farmiliar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. "Yes." I said timidly. Something told me he was not human.

"Come with me." He said gently. "Who are you?" I blurted out. He laughed softly. "You don't recognize me?" He asked. "I can't see you." I said. He laughed harder this time. He took something small out of his pocket. There was a sudden bright flash in my eyes. "Oh! Sorry." He apologized. He took the small flashlight and gave it to me. It shone brightly into his face. Ebony black hair framed his snowy white face. He had light purple circles under his deep golden eyes. Every feature on his face was perfectly angular and straight. "Brant!" I said suddenly recognizing Olivia's husband. "What are you doing here?" We asked eachother at the same moment. I laughed softly. I told him how Edward was going to change me, but the werewolves had gotten there first.

"So what are you doing here?" I asked. "We came here to surprise you when you woke as a vampire." he responded. "Where's Olivia?" I asked. "Hunting." he said. "So was I, but then I smelled you, and heard you call for Edward. We'd better get back to the Cullen house. We need to see how the fight turned out, but I have a good guess." He said grinning at me. I grimaced. "What's wrong?" He asked concerned. "I knew one of the werewolves. The one that tried to take me. He was my friend." I said sadly. "Well, he's obviously not your friend anymore." He said. "Hmm," I thought for a moment. "I suppose you're right." I hadn't really thought of that.

Just then, another figure emerged from the bushes. I quickly flashed the light to the new face. She had a mane of beautiful light blonde hair, a sweet face and vivid butterscotch eyes. I quickly recognized Olivia. "Bella! She said surprised. Brant filled her in about the current situation in less than ten seconds. "Alright, let's go." Olivia suggested. Brant and I agreed. Olivia bent down with her back to me. "Climb on." She said. I clambered on to her back and held on tight. They raced through the forest at impossible speeds until we emerged from the last greenery of the forest.

I jumped off Olivia's back and raced to the house. I wrenched the door open.
"EDWARD!!?" I yelled, my voice echoing through the house.

Edward's POV (during the fight.)

I raced downstairs where I met four vicous werewolves. Emmett was fighting a silver wolf, and he clearly had the upper hand; Alice and Esme were fighting another dog, Rosalie was toying with one who obviously was very frustrated that she was too fast for him, and Jasper and Carlisle were fighting the Alpha dog, also know as Sam Uley. I decided to help Rosalie fight the bad tempered dog, she was only holding him off, not really fighting him. Rosalie put herself as the distraction while I did the real damage to this intruding beast.

Then something hit me. "Where's the fifth one?" I yelled. There was suddenly a scream from upstairs. "EDWARD!!!" Bella screamed. Her scream was immediately muffled and my extremely sensitive ears heard something leap out the window.

My fury was white hot. I left the injured wolf in the care of Rosalie, and raced up the stairs. My window was wide open, the dog had apparently dragged her out the window. I jumped down and saw the very mongrol who had attempted Bella's kidnap writhing on the ground, holding his hurtful spot. I almost laughed. That's my Bella, fight them off. When the boy saw me he leapt up to fight me. He took a running start and transformed to his wolf form in midair. I was gone in the blink of an eye, Black had faceplanted into the grass. He tried again to attack me, but I swiftly moved before he could lay a paw on me.

He tried this several more times, but he was just not fast enough. Finally, he was so exausted that the dog layed down on the ground and transformed back to his human state to rest. I was over him in a second, I lifted him from the ground by the throat gently (for a vampire anyway). "Where's Bella?" I growled at him. His face was turning a strange shade of violet under his russet skin. He gasped for breath, and I dropped him to the ground. He rubbed his throat before answering hoarsely, "I don't know, she ran into the forest." Angry, I gave him a light kick that made him sail through the air and into a tree, and ran back into the house where the rest of the dogs were.

Most of them were injured slightly, and the head of the pack ordered them to retreat when they saw me coming. I hadn't realized how long Black and I had been fighting (rather Black trying to attack me and I dodging him), but it was nearly dark now. "We have to find Bella." I annouced to my family. "Why? Where is she?" Carlisle asked, rubbing his side gingerly. Apparently Sam was a better fighter than the rest of the pack. "Black says she ran into the forest after he tried to kidnap her." I explained. "She could be anywhere." Rosalie said wearily, rubbing her sore legs. I gave her a look. "Not that I won't help," she added quickly, "I'm just saying that it could take days to find her. Maybe the wolves found her again. She could be anywhere." I grimaced at the option that she could have been kidnaped again. "Then we better get looking." Carlisle said.

We exited out of the back door. It was pitch black now. I was worried sick about my wife. We weren't even married a day and she was missing. I was sure if there was an award for the husband who lost his wife the soonest I would've won by a longshot. We searched high and low for Bella, but she was no where to be found. "Bella, where are you?" I whispered.
