Bella's POV

"Bella? Are you awake?" Edward asked me anxiously. My eyes opened to an entirely different world. I could hear, see, feel, smell and sense things that I never could before. I looked up to see Edward's face. Impossible as it seems, he looked even more beautiful through my new vampire eyes. Relief flooded through his face when he saw me wake. "Bella!" he said with the purest happiness in his eyes. I smiled at him. He leaned down and kissed me, but this time it was a real kiss. Not like the guarded human ones, it was a kiss burning with passion and love. I was at last satisfied.

When we finally broke apart, he smiled and asked me, "How was it?" I smiled mischieviously. "Delicious." I replied sweetly. He got a strange look on his face, then laughed in understanding that I didn't understnad. "I meant the transformation." He said still chuckling. I flushed crimson.

He immediately stopped laughing. "How..?" He began. Then I realized vampires weren't supposed to blush. I shrugged. "Maybe it's part of my ability." I said. He smiled. "Well whatever it is, I love it." I grinned. "As I was saying," He began once more, "How was the transformation?" He asked casually as if he were asking the time of day. I put on my best tough-girl face and replied, "It wasn't so bad." He burst out laughing, more at my expression than my words. He rumpled my hair and picked me up in his arms. "We have to introduce the rest of the family to Vampire-Bella." he said grinning my favorite crooked smile that never ceased to steal my breath away.

We made our way downstairs in less than a blink of an eye and began entering the living room where his--or should I say our--family waited. Alice was the first one to see me. She must have heard us coming--wait, of course she did, she's a vampire--because when Edward reached to open the door it flew open and I flew back into the wall with Alice embracing me. "Bella!! I'm so glad it's finally over! I was so lonely and I missed my favorite shopping partner." My eyes widened in fear at the last reference and Edward burst out laughing. Alice finally let me go and took my hand and led me into the living room.

Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie and to my delight and surprise Olivia and Brant waited for us on the soft couches. Being the head of the house and now my father-in-law, Carlisle stood first to greet me. He took me in a fatherly embrace and whispered in my super sensitive ear, "We're so glad you're a part of the family, Bella. We've all missed you." I smiled and thanked him. Esme hugged me only as a mother could and if vampires could cry, I knew tears of joy would be streaming down her face. "We missed ya, Bella." Jasper, who was suddenly at my side grinning down at me said.

"Bella!" Emmett said crushing me in a huge bear hug. "I missed you too." I said, my voice muffled by his back breaking hug. Emmett finally let me down and Rosalie faced me timidly. "It's good to have another sister." She said smiling shyly and giving me a side hug. Olivia and Brant were at my side next. "It's nice to see you again." Olivia said, beaming in her eternal sixteen-year-old youth. "Yeah, we missed you!" Brant said rumpling my hair as Edward had earlier. Then in a lower tone he said, "And thanks again for reuniting Olivia and me. I'd still be alone if not for you." He said smiling earnestly at me. My face turned a light shade of pink as I muttered "No problem." Everyone in the room exept Edward looked surprised. "It's just something she does," Edward explained, "we think it may be part of her ability." "That can be Bella's trademark," Emmett said, "the only blushing vampire." I turned crimson. Everyone laughed but me.

"Speaking of which," Carlisle began, "We have to find out what Bella's real ability is, and hopefully before the Volturi show up." My blush disappeared. I had forgotten about the Volturi. What if they wanted to take me? What if they hurt someone in the family? I couldn't let that happen. After all, there were ten of us. I hoped that would be enough to hold them off if they were hostile. "Alice," Carlisle said interrupting my train of thought, "Could you see what they wanted?" "They didn't seem angry, just curious. They just wanted to see if we changed Bella, and if so, to see her ability." Good. At least they wouldn't hurt anyone. Hopefully.

Suddenly, another voice filled my mind. Good, they're not hostile. But if they even think about taking Bella, they will regret it. Besides, I'll know. Oh, Bella, Bella, Bella. Beautiful Bella, sweet Bella, strong Bella, Blushing Bella... I recognized the voice as Edward's. But his mouth wasn't moving. How was that possible? Unless... "Edward, think something!" I ordered him. He had a puzzled look on his face but my mind was filled with his voice once again. Umm, Hi Bella? Can you read my mind? I love you Bella. But you already knew that... I blushed scarlet. "Yes," I said, "I can read your mind." I had found my ability. Well, sort of. I could read minds. Well, at least Edward's. I wondered... "Emmett, think something." I said to him as well. He got an excited look in his eyes. I concentrated as hard as I could and in the exact same way I had read Edward's mind, but nothing happened. "Nothing." I replied. "Dang it!" Emmett pouted. "I think I know your ability Bella." Carlisle said. "You use another person's talent for your own use. Of course, it would only work with talents such as Edward's, that require them to get into someone's mind to use their talent. I'm guessing it would work on talents such as Aro and Jane's." Possibilities flooded my mind. I smiled. "No fair!" Emmett said, pouting once more.
