2. Packing And Planning
Rating 5/5 Word Count 670 Review this Chapter
"Are you sure you are packed for Forks?" Mom asked for the ten billionth time. She definitely is like Grandma Renee when it comes to hovering over me; persistent and annoying but, I love her.
After Bella (Mom) got separated from Dad she went to medical school and became a doctor. The fact she became a doctor is surprising considering she used to faint at the sight of blood. Today she's a doctor at Mercy Hospital in Los Angeles.
"Yes Mom, I'm all packed so are Erica and Lucas so doesn't go calling Mary to have her remind them." I teased her. She may be my mom but she's pretty predictable, always has been and always will be.
"Okay, I'm just being a worry wart Mom aren't I?" Bella asked.
"Just a little bit." I said as I made a tiny space in between my thumb and index finger.
"I'll leave you alone." She said and walked out of the room before I could say anything she left as her pager went off. "See you later sweetie!" She yelled as she ran out the door to go to the hospital.
Taking my luggage out to my car I set the bags in the trunk. Tomorrow Lucas, Erica and I go to Forks, Washington for most of the summer just like every single other summer. This summer we are only staying for two weeks (well our parents think all summer) and then we are sneaking away to go find Edward and his family. The only hard part will be sneaking away from Jake, Charlie, and Sue but mostly Jake since he will be at Charlie's house as much as possible I bet.
When I was four Grandpa Charlie married Grandma Sue. It was a small white flowery wedding that Mom, Leah, and Emily planned for them. That was during the time we lived in Forks because Mom was going to medical school in Seattle and it wasn't that far from Forks. While we lived in Forks my Mom met Mary and then a few years later when we moved to Los Angeles they moved with us and ended up moving down the street from us.
It was ten at night when Bella came home from the hospital. "Twila I'm home!" She called and then I heard a crash coming from downstairs. Running downstairs I found Bella on her butt laughing really hard.
"Mom, what did you do?" I asked in between hysterical laughing fits. She has never ever been graceful. Some days it's a wonder she's still alive, no kidding. She has broken several bones since I've been a little kid. As soon as I was old enough to walk and such she became a klutz again.
"I didn't see the coffee table and flipped right over it as I fell." She said laughing even harder which of course caused me to laugh at her. I'm definitely not graceful from her at all; it must be Dad's entire gene when it comes to me being graceful.
"How many times do I have to remind you that the coffee table is over here now?" I teasingly asked, recently we had moved the table because it was getting boring where it was. We just kept laughing until my stomach hurt and I had to sit down.
A few minutes later when we stopped laughing she asked "So what do you want for dinner?"
"Hmmm, definitely some kind of takeout after, all what do they have to eat in Forks other than the diner and pizza place?" Don't get me wrong I love Forks but there isn't too much that is super terribly interesting there.
"How about Chinese?" Mom suggested.
"Yum!!! I'll go call them right now." I got up and went to go order our usual order from the local place down the street.
Tomorrow I leave and then sometime in the next two weeks I find Dad and fix our broken family.
