It Was A Dark And Stormy Night...(Twilight Archives Contest One-shot)

Summary:
ONe-Shot for the Twilight Archives "It was a dark and Stormy Night" Contest. May turn into a two-shot depending how I feel about it. Basically about the pain that Bella feels when Edward leaves. Very twisty. Wrote sort of in third and first person at the same time. Very depressing (I think). No happy ending. Took me (not trying to brag) 20-30 minutes. No fire/flaming or haters please.

Notes:
A depressing(I think) poem/story in one. Please no fire/flaming or haters. May make you cry. Has one swear in it, please excuse it. The swear was needed for emphasis.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

She looked out the window and sighed. She stared at passing cars. She stared at the forest, and the rain and the water droplets sliding down the glass. She stared at them but not focusing, not on those objects at least. She stared and stared, at what though? Something in particular…what was it? Your guess is as good as mine. But she was staring. And as she stared, she wrote in her mind.

It was a dark and stormy night

When he did it to her

It was a dark and stormy night

When he said no more

It was a dark and stormy night

When he left her behind

You wonder who this “he” she thinks of is. You wonder why he left. Why didn’t he take her with him? What did she do wrong? What went wrong? Of course something went wrong you think to yourself…but what? She still stared. You think maybe she’s staring at his memory. At what they used to be. And still in her mind she wrote.

It was a dark and stormy night

In her mind

It was a dark and stormy night

As she remembered him

It was a dark and stormy night

As she almost wished she could forget

You almost want to forget for her. You still wonder why “he” did this to her and why she never said his name. And as tears stream down her face you wonder where he is now. And you wonder how “he” could have done this to her. You wonder where he is so you can kick his ass. You don’t even know her, let alone the pain she feels…but you still want to defend her. And all the while she is writing.

It was a dark and stormy night

As she thought of him

It was a dark and stormy night

When she cried herself to sleep

It was a dark and stormy night

When she almost cursed him for this

You see her slump down in her seat at the window. She sighs again. You start becoming more and more angry at this “he”. How? Why? Where is “he” right now? And what is “he” doing? Is “he” sad like her? Or is “he” happy? Is “he” looking for an new girl and laughing at the memory of this girl? What is wrong with him? What monster would do this to someone seemingly innocent ? And she keeps on writing.

It was a dark and stormy night

As she first feels the pain

It was a dark and stormy night

As she doubles over and sobs

It was a dark and stormy night

As she feels her shattered heart

You see her kneeling now. Clutching at her chest. She holds herself tightly. You see she is struggling. You want to help, to say “It’ll all be alright” , but you can’t. You see her curled up, still clutching her chest, on the floor now. She is in deep pain. And she still writes.

It was a dark and stormy night

As the pain keeps coming

It was a dark and stormy night

As it feels stronger than ever

It was a dark and stormy night

As she struggles

You can she is losing grip. You try harder to help now. You try to reach for her hand and pull her from the dark hole she is sinking into. You desperately try to help. You vow that you will find this “he”. No matter what happens to this girl, you will find him and make him understand the pain she is in. And as you vow this, she writes one more sentence.

It was a dark and stormy night

As she succumbed to the pain

You see her fall into the deep, black hole that always threatened. You see she is drowning and you can’t save her. And as she fell you see her go limp and seem to fall asleep. Moments later you realize, she will never wake up…
