I woke up the next day to an upset stomach. I jumped off the bed and ran to the bathroom with Edward in my heels. I leaned over the toilet and throwed up while Edward held my hair.

I finished my "business" and brushed my teeth. I turned around and gave Edward a hug. "I love you," I said and looked up into his eyes.

He stroked my hair. "I love you, too," he said. "I think you should stay home from school today."

I was about to protest, but he put his finger to my lips.

"Stay home. Relax," he told me.

I sighed. "Fine, but you`re gonna go to school."

"Of course. I need my education," he joked.

"Yes, you do," I told him matter-of-factly.

Edward left for school with his siblings and Carlisle left for work. That meant it was only me and Esme home. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Esme was making pancakes. I breathed in the good smell and sat down at the kitchen table. She put a plate with a pancake in front of me and sat down on one of the chairs.

I took a bite of my pancake. Then another one. And then I ate five more pancakes. I was really hungry, after all I was pregnant.

"Thank you so much for the pancakes, Esme. You may not eat human food, but you sure can cook," I told her while putting my plate in the dishwasher.

"It was nothing dear," she assured me.

I sat down again.

"I am so excited to be a grandmother. Have you and Edward thought about names?" she asked with a huge grin on her face.

"No, not rea-," I was cut of by my cellphone ringing. I took it out and looked at the caller`s ID. The hospital. Yes, I did have the hospital in my contactlist `cause I hurt myself all the time. I answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hi, is this Isabella Swan?" a male voice on the other end asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"This is Dr. Allen calling. Your father, Charlie Swan, has just had a heart-attack ," he informed me.

"WHAT?" I gasped. "I`ll be there in a few minutes." I hung up the phone and turned my head to Esme. "Charlie just had a heart-attack."

"Oh, Bella, it`s gonna be alright," she told me and kissed the top of my head in a motherly way.

I drived to the hospital with Esme in the passanger seat. I ran up to the front desk. "Charlie Swan?" I asked breathless.

The nurse behind the desk looked up at me with a friendly smile. "Are you his daughter?" she asked.

I nodded my head.

"He`s in room 205," she told me.

I ran to the room to find a doctor standing over my dad taking some notes. He noticed me and Esme and put the clipboard away. "Bella Swan?" he asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"I`m Dr. Allen. As I told you on the phone, your dad had a heart-attack," he said.

"Is he gonna be okay?" I chocked out.

Dr. Allen hesitated for a moment before saying, "Your fathers heartbeat is very weak. I expect that he isn`t going to make it throught the night."

I stared at him for a moment. I could feel something warm, wet and salty running down my cheeks. Tears. I fell down to the floor and cried hysterically. Esme lifted me up of the floor and onto a couch. I dried my tears with my thumbs and turned to Esme and Dr. Allen.

"Would you mind if I could get some time alone with my dad?" I asked in a whisper.

"Of course," they said in unison and left the room.

I glanced at my father. He was sleeping peacefully, and he probably would never wake up. He looked like and angel. Peaceful.

I pulled a chair up to the bed and sat by him. I took his hand. "Hi, dad," I said. It was like I had expected him to greet me back with a cheerful "Hi, kiddo!", so when he didn`t move I felt the disappointment in me.

Charlie was never going to meet his grandchild, the grandchild he didn`t even know about. Me and Edward had planned to tell him tomorrow, but I guess it would never be a tomorrow for him. Maybe in heaven, I didn`t know.

"I am pregnant, you know. You`re probably really disappointed in me, but hey, I did get married to him first," I said in a tone that I would have spoken to him if we were just having a regular conversation.

I sighed. "I will miss you so, so much, dad. Moving to Forks was the best decision I`ve ever made. I`m glad I did it."

I layed my head on his chest and my arms around him. "Goodbye, dad. I`ll truly, really miss you." Again, I felt the tears run down my cheeck, but I didn`t care. All I wanted to do now was spend the last hours with him.
