"Thou shall not suffer the witch to live."

July 19, 1692
Salem Village, Massachusetts
Diary of Jane Good

Curse Abigail Williams, Curse Ann Putnam, Curse Mary Warren! May they burn in the fiery pits of HELL for all eternity.

I say this with a hardened heart for I know they will come soon for us myself and my two other siblings, and take us to the jail for a crime we have not committed but what good would that do us to claim innocence many have already and are dead to show.

Sarah has collapsed in tears on her journal unable to write.

Alec sits near the window watching, waiting so that we may hide theses journals when the magistrate approaches.

But I must write for this event must not be forgotten if one happens to find this after the hysteria has past.

My mother is Sarah Good wife of William Good and while we are not the wealthiest family in Salem Village we have enough. Why you may ask I am explaining this is because my mother often asked charity of our neighbors.

She asked help but may ignored her.

Well the old bewitch Tituba hath confessed my mother a witch and though I do not curse her, because, it is within my knowledge that her master forced her to say so.

But the three girls Abigail, Ann, and Mary, all beneath me in years, have held a grudge over my siblings and me.

They jumped at the opportunity to hurt us.

So when Tituba accursed my mother they took it upon themselves to further the accusation saying my mother dothed harm them.

My mother was quickly awayed.

Then they arrested my youngest sister Dorcas who I would also accuse but say she is but two, she claimed also that my mother was a witch.

So today only an hour or less ago my mother hung for a crime she has not committed.

Our neighbor stoned her as she went Abigail's stone landing squarely on mothers head and knocking her coif to the ground.

Then she hath the nerve to look at the three of us, Sarah, Alec and Myself, and smile a grin the devil would be proud of.

Sarah ran a grabbed the coif of the ground and then ran back to me wrapping her arms around me sobbing into my shoulder.

I looked back at my mother her face had fresh blood on it where Abigail's stone had cut her.

Her hair was tangled and free and her face dirty but she glanced out direction and I could see her lilac colored eyes were still bright and strong though sad.

By know she had reached the platform and she, Rebecca Nurse, Susannah Martin, Elizabeth Howe, and Sarah Wildes were lined up below a noose.

Mother looked at us she was third in line behind Rebecca Nurse and Elizabeth Howe.

Rebbeca climbed with shaky knees to the top crying when she felt the noose touch her neck she fell to her knees begging for mercy, grabbing at the legs of the preacher.

He refused, pulling away and calling to the crowd, "Satan does not deserve our mercy," to which she cried only louder. Two men pulled her to her feet and fit the noose around her neck.

Then she fell and a sharp CRACK, echoed through the town.

"Our father who art in heaven," a voice echoed it was Susannah Martin behind my mother quickly she was pulled in front of my mother and Elizabeth Howe to the platform and hanged.

Then Elizabeth Howe stepped onto the platform crying quietly she too quickly died.

I was my mother’s turn as she walked onto the platform she turned and looked over the crowd of people and screamed

" REMEMBER ME, ALL OF YOU, REMEMBER ME WHEN YOU LOOK BACK AT ALL THE INNOCENT WOMEN YOU MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD OVER THE STORIES OF SOME SLAVE, AND HOW, SO FEARFUL WERE YOU THAT YOU BELIEVED THE TALES OF GIRLS NOT EVEN WOMEN, NOW WHEN ON HAS DONE SOMETHING THAT NO WITCH COULD DO, RECITE THE LORD'S PRAYER, INSTEAD OF UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS WOMEN WAS INNOCENT YOU HATH KILLED HER FASTER HOPING THAT YOU WOULD NOT SEE THE TRUTH, THAT SHE WAS AN INNOCENT WOMEN.

REMEMBER ME!!!!

SARAH GOOD YOUR NEIGHBOR AND MOTHER OF FOUR CHILDREN REMEMBER HOW YOU MAKETH ME ABANDON, FOR YOUR PETTY FEARS.

AND TO MY CHILDREN I SAY REMEMBER ME NEVER FORGET THE LOVE I HATH GIVE ALL OF YOU.

BUT TO YOU MINISTER NICHOLAS NOYES YOU ARE A LIAR.

I AM NO MORE A WITCH THAN YOU A WIZARD, AND IF YOU TAKE AWAY MY LIFE GOD WILL GIVE YOU BLOOD TO DRINK!"

Then my mother died my bother took my hand and pulled me toward home.

But I was angry and pulled away my gaze focused on Abigail who had caused this who had loved the death games.

I started towards her a sinister smile on my face and images of her in pain in my gaze but Alec grabbed and just his touch seemed to sooth the desires.

But Abigail had seen the murderous gaze I had focused on her.

As I turned with Alec to leave there was a sharp blood curtailing scream like a girl being murdered we turned back to see Abigail on the ground convulsing in pain. everyone else turned too and the minister Samuel Parris fell down to her side and said,

"Who torments you child?"

"Them," she said,

" them, Alec, Jane and Sarah Good, not minutes after you hang their mother they hurt me, causing me to feel as if fires are burning my body. Fires, they control just like their father controls the fires of Hell."

Murmurs ran through the crowd as Abigail made her claim.

While the murmurs grew to shouts we had slipped away. So know I right this...

wait they are coming I her them.

I must hide this it cannot be found by them.

It must be remembered ever if we are not.

I love you mother and Sarah and Jane, no matter what happens please...
