"Make me immortal with a kiss!"

-Christopher Marlowe

Whoa, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch, a long, lonely time,
And time goes by so slowly and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, Godspeed your love to me.

Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea, yeah
Lonely rivers sigh, "Wait for me, wait for me"
"I'll be coming home, wait for me!"

Whoa, my love, my darling, I've hungered hungered for your touch, a long lonely time.
And time goes by so slowly, and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love. I need your love.
Godspeed your love to me.

-Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody"

I can't believe I was such an idiot! First, I was stupid enough to bring her to the dreadful baseball game, then I was foolish not to stay with her!

I looked down at my angel. She at least looked comfortable. Carlisle had to give her morphine so she wouldn't be in pain, mainly from her leg. I growled when I thought of my love's broken leg. She shouldn't have to deal with this.

Carlisle had heard my growl. "She's going to be fine. Compared to what could've happened, she's in good shape. James could've...."

"Don't ever say that name again!" I growled.

Bella whimpered. She was in between sleep and unconsciousness. I had heard her say,"No!" a few times, but that was it.

"Edward, you got lucky this time. I still see her becoming a vampire."

"Alice, I will not let her become a monster like me! I love her too much to have her become stuck to this horrible life!" Bella would not be damned to this life.

"Edward, the vision WILL come true!"

"Alice, just shut up!" I yelled. Bella whimpered at my yelling.

Carlisle just gave me a look. But it made me feel guilty.

"Sorry," I muttered.

I looked down at Bella again. How could something so stunning, so breathtaking, be in so much pain. It seemed to break every rule in the book for my angel to be in suffering.

"Edward, calm down. You being angry won't help Bella," Carlisle told me. I looked down at my hand. It was clenched into a fist. He knew I would listen to him if it had something to do with Bella. I would kill myself if Bella died. She's my entire world now.

And we still havbe other problems to worry about. Like the female, Victoria isn't it? She is dangerous, and what I could read from her thoughts, it appears she was James' mate. That would probably mean she wants revenge. But then again, I always think pessimistically rather than optimistically.

Also, worst-case scenario, what happens if the Volturi find out that Bella knows the secret of the vampire world. It probably wouldn't be good. These are the reasons I wonder if Bella would have a better life wothout me interfering and putting her in danger. But that would put us both in a lot of pain. I love her with all of my heart, and I don't have to read her mind to know she feels the same, and that I'm the best thing that has ever happened to her.

But what would happen if we had to leave abruptly? Our world is hazardous to Bella's life. Bur leaving Bella would destroy her. And it would devastate me as well.

Alice seemed to know what I was thinking,"If you leave her, it will kill both of you. If you stay and change her, you both get what you want. And I'll get a sister!"

I shook my head, "I'm not going to doom her to this life! I will stay only until it is no longer good for her."

Bella whimpered again.

"I love you very much, Bella. You stole my heart, therefore, I am forever yours."

I whispered into her ear, "I love you," over and over again.

She opened her mouth. What if she says "No!" again. It will kill me. So the words that came out of her mouth shocked me,"I love you, Edward."

And those words, whispered by that angel, made me feel whole.
