First came surprise. Then anger. I told him many, many times I didn’t want it! I told him that I liked the way I got around. I told him so many times that I didn’t want a new car! I was furious because inside the box was a shiny new car key. I glared up at Edward who buts out laughing the moment he saw my face. That made me glare at him more.

“At least see the car before you go into a rage,” Edward said, still chuckling. I grumbled angrily as he took my hand and dragged me to the front lawn. My eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw the vehicle.

“That wasn’t there earlier today!” I gasped, walking towards it. The car was a red 1962 convertible Rambler American. My eyes started to water. It was like my truck in convertible form. I jumped on Edward and hugged him with all my strength.

“I know how much you love vintage,” he said, prying me off him. “And this car can go way faster then your truck. And every girl deserves a convertible sometime in their lifetime.” I looked up at him grateful and kissed him.

“I love it,” I whispered and buried my face in his shirt. “I love you.”

“Don’t you want to see the inside of it?” he asked me. I nodded eagerly. He took my hand again and opened the driver’s seat. I hopped in and put my hands on the steering wheel. It felt like the car was made for me.

“Wow,” I whispered. Edward didn’t get in, though. I looked at him expectably. But his line of sight was focused on the seat next to me. I followed his gaze and saw a small black box sitting on the seat, waiting for me to see it. “Oh!” I exclaimed and looked at Edward again.

“Open it,” he commanded. I nodded and picked up the small velvet box. I opened it slowly, excitement bubbling inside of me. I bet all of Forks could have heard my gasp. Inside the box was a golden ring. There was a large topaz stone in the middle, but the band was curved a tiny bit. Diamonds seems to fly off one side of the topaz. I covered my mouth with my hands to muffle my sobs. Edward walked forward and kneeled next to my new car. “I never gave you a ring,” he whispered. I turned towards him, loving him more every second. “I know you would have wanted a simple ring-”

“This ring is not simple,” I said, laughing through my tears. I was just so happy.

“It’s simpler then the other rings I was considering,” he muttered with a smile. He leaned in and kissed me. I was too shocked by my surprises to even get too excited.

“You are undoubtfully the perfect man,” I declared.

“Undoubtfully is not a word,” Edward chuckled. I rolled my eyes.

“BELLA!” Alice’s voice called, shattering the moment. I jumped up shocked, and Edward caught the ring before it fell to the ground. He slid the ring on my finger and picked me up out of the car.

“You know I can walk,” I said while he carried me back towards the backyard. He leaned down and kissed me again.

“Maybe I like carrying you,” he teased. I narrowed my eyes at him and he put me down gently, laughing.

“Come on,” Alice cried, suddenly appearing by my side. “We didn’t give you our present yet.” I looked at her confused. She just rolled her eyes. “Your engagement present,” she clarified. I still looked at her blankly. “Oh, just come on,” she muttered and dragged me into the middle of the backyard.

“This is from all of us,” Esme said, handing me a flat, rectangular box. I smiled and then lifted the lid off the box. I shrieked and the covered my mouth with my hand again.

“Paris?” I gasped, my eyes wide. Edward leaned over my shoulder, looking at the two plane tickets.

“For you and Edward,” Alice clarified. I turned around to face Edward, my heart flying. I suddenly felt woozy.

“I think Bella’s a little overwhelmed,” Edward announced. I nodded my head and Edward held my shoulders steadying me. “I think it’s time for you to go to bed,” he whispered in my ear. I nodded my head again, still not able to take in everything.

“’Night, Bella,” Alice said as Edward carried me into the house and up into his room. He placed me on his leather couch.

“I love you,” I said, dazed. I held up my hand and looked at my ring again. “Thank you,” I whispered. He sat down next to me and placed a blanket which appeared out of nowhere over me.

“Now sleep,” he said. I nodded and closed my eyes. I couldn’t believe it. I had a great new car, a wedding ring and Edward and I were going to Paris. Paris, the city of love. It would be perfect.
