Her New Life

Christine moves to Forks after 1 1/2 years of pain after her best friend died. What she finds in Forks will change her life forever. I PUT CHAPTER 11 AT THE END OF CHAPTER 10.

This is my first story so hopefully you like it. It doesn't have any Twilight characters, just vampires and it references Twilight.

“Um, hi.” I managed to choke out as I stared. It was just too much to take in. I hadn’t even gotten used to vampires being real and then I find out the vampires who I read about are real.

“You’ve read Twilight haven’t you?” Bella asked kindly.

“Yeah, a few times.” I responded thinking about how many times I had re-read those books.

“A few times?” Edward asked skeptically. That’s when I remembered that he could hear my thoughts, so he knew how many times I had read them.

“Ok, so maybe a bit more than a few.” I said embarrassed. So that I didn’t have to see the amused look on Edward’s face I went into the living room and sat down on the couch, looking at the wall. I thought I heard Edward chuckle but I didn’t want to look at him. I didn’t realize Chris had followed me until I felt him sit down next to me and put his arm around me.

“We were just telling Chris here that we were just over at the house Bella lived in when she was human and we saw that it had blown up or something.” Edward said deciding to change the subject.

“That was my house!” I exclaimed when he said that. I couldn’t believe that I had lived in Bella’s old house. “Someone blew it up a few days ago and we don’t know who or why.”

“Oh no! Was anyone hurt?” Bella asked with concern.

“Christine was unconscious for three days and her mom was killed in the blast.” Chris responded when he saw I couldn’t say anything because I was thinking about how screwed up my life had become since I moved to Forks.

“I’m so sorry!” Bella said.

“Thanks, Chris and his family have really helped me out. I’ve been staying here since then, until we figure something out.” I said.

“A human willing to stay with vampires, who does that sound like?” Edward said jokingly looking at Bella. “You may think that your life has been completely screwed up ever since you moved here, but at least you found your true love. I can tell you two love each other a lot just by your thoughts.” He told me.

“Found my true love again.” I mumbled glaring at Chris.

“What do you mean again?” Bella asked curiously. So we told them all about how we knew each other before Chris “died.”

“Wow! Now that you guys found each other don’t leave each other again. I know how that feels. Besides, she knows about you now so you don’t have to lie to her about anything.” Bella said when we were finished.

“Don’t worry, we’re staying together.” Chris said confidently.

“Good. Once you find your true love you need to stay with her.” Edward added.

“I think that we have already established that Chris isn’t going to leave me.” I said annoyed, I really didn’t want to talk about this anymore. It brought up a lot of painful memories that I didn’t want to think about.

“So if you guys want, we could help you find out who blew up your house.” Edward said suddenly, giving me a sympathetic look. It’s going to take a while to get used to having someone around that hears thoughts.

“That would be great. Thank you.” Karen said. I had forgotten that she was there until she said that.

“Here is our address.” Edward said as he handed Chris a piece of paper. “We would love it if your family, including Christine, could come over tonight so that you can meet the rest of our family.”

“Sounds great. We’ll be there at 7:00.” Chris said.

“See you later.” Karen said as we followed Edward and Bella to the door.

“Bye.” Bella said as they left. Once Chris closed the door we went back in the living room and sat on the couch.

“So how was your shopping trip?” Chris asked after a few seconds.

“Oh it was so much fun! We got Christine tons of really cute clothes!” Karen said excited. “Oh! That reminds me, come on Christine, we need to go put your clothes away.”

“Um, where are they going to go?” I asked hesitantly. Technically I didn’t have a room or closet.

“In Chris’ closet of course. He has plenty of room for your clothes.” Karen responded as she pulled me up and we headed upstairs.

We spent the next hour re-organizing Chris’ closet to fit all of my new clothes. Then we spent another half hour getting ready to go over to the Cullen’s house. I had a little bit of food for dinner before we left. Chris’s parents, Karen, and Tim went in Karen’s car and we went in my car. As we pulled up I was speechless as I stared at the Cullen’s house. It was even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. We got out of the cars and Chris had to hold me up because I was so astounded that I was actually at the Cullen’s house. We got to the front door and right after we knocked the door opened.

“Welcome to our house. We’re so glad to meet you.” Esme said as she motioned for us to go inside.

“It’s great to meet you too.” Chris responded. It seemed like he was the spokesman of the family. We entered the house and went into the living room. Chris had to practically drag me in because I was staring at the house so much. I heard a chuckle coming from the living room that brought me out of my staring. I saw Edward in there smiling and trying not to laugh. I glared at him and thought yeah laugh at the human to him. We sat down and introduced ourselves to the Cullens. Then the Cullens introduced themselves to us and I resumed my staring in awe.

“So Edward and Bella told us about how your house exploded.” Alice said when the introductions were done. “I’m so sorry. I had a vision earlier about some two vampires who were digging around in the wreckage. They might be the ones who planted the explosives.”

“So are you saying that they’ll come after me once they find out I’m not dead yet?” I asked Alice worried.

“We think so.” Edward interjected, “But don’t worry, with this many vampires on you side they don’t stand a chance.” He reassured me when he heard how worried I was.

“Yeah, there is no need to worry. You will always be with at least one vampire until those two are dealt with, so you’ll be safe.” Alice said brightly. “Oh, you know what would be great? A shopping trip tomorrow. Girls only, so that would be me, Bella, Christine, Karen, Rosalie, and maybe Esme or Eleanor if they want to come.” Alice was almost bouncing out of her seat because she was so excited. I looked around the room and apparently I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t very happy; Bella was giving Alice a glare that said she couldn’t make her go.

“Um…actually, Karen and I just went shopping today. I don’t think I’m up to two shopping trips in a row.” I said, trying to save Bella and myself from the horror of another shopping trip.

“Fine!” Alice huffed, glaring at me. “I’ll find something else for us to do tomorrow.”

“It’s kind of late. So I think I should take Christine home, she just woke up this morning and is probably exhausted.” Chris said before Alice could try to guilt me into a shopping trip. “Sorry to interrupt the fun, but humans have to sleep.”

“Oh yes, so sorry, Christine. We’ll see you tomorrow then. Sleep well.” Esme said, just like the mother figure.

“Bye Christine! I will be over at your house at 7:00 in the morning to get you ready for the day.” Alice said cheerfully. I stared at her worried. What is she planning?

“Goodnight Christine. Don’t worry, I’ll talk to Alice.” Bella whispered in my ear when she hugged me.

Once everyone had said goodbye, Chris and I left and headed back to his, I guess our, house. Since Chris is a vampire it took only a couple of minutes to get home. When we got there he immediately was by my door and waiting for me to get out. We walked hand in hand to the house.

“So what did you think of the Cullens?” Chris asked innocently.

“Why?” I asked suspiciously, his face and tone were too innocent for him to simply be curious.

“Edward told me about some of the stuff going on in your head.” He replied looking at my face, trying to gauge my reaction.

“Well, you already knew about my obsession with Twilight.” I muttered looking straight ahead. I had no clue how much Edward had told Chris. Some of what I thought about I really didn’t want Chris to know. “What did Edward tell you?” I asked sweetly.

“Oh, he just said that you were amazed with how much everything looked like it was described in the books and how nice you thought Alice is. Except for her planning a shopping trip of course.” Chris responded equally sweet.

“Is that all?” I asked a little worried.

“No, he might have mentioned something about you panicking when Alice proposed another girls shopping trip.” Chris said reluctantly.

“Well I may have been a little… apprehensive.” I muttered embarrassed. “But I just spent the whole day away from you and I’m still trying to get used to the fact that you’re not dead and we’re finally together.” I explained. I looked away from him for the first time since we got home and noticed that we were upstairs in his room, sitting on his bed.

“I hate being away from you also, Christine. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure that whatever Alice is planning will involve me too.” Chris reassured me. “Now, I think it’s time for you to sleep.”

“I guess you’re right. I’ll be right back.” I said, hopping off the bed, grabbing some pajamas, and going into the bathroom.

While I brushed my teeth I thought about how my life had turned into a fairy tale. First, my best friend (boyfriend now!) actually wasn’t dead (but was a vampire.) Then I find out that the Cullens actually exist and now live in Forks again. My life is so weird.

When I was done, I went back into the bedroom and laid down on the bed. Chris went over to pick up his guitar to play me to sleep again.

“Good night, Christine.” Chris said quietly.

“Good night, Chris,” I responded and then I was asleep
