Her New Life

Christine moves to Forks after 1 1/2 years of pain after her best friend died. What she finds in Forks will change her life forever. I PUT CHAPTER 11 AT THE END OF CHAPTER 10.

This is my first story so hopefully you like it. It doesn't have any Twilight characters, just vampires and it references Twilight.

Oh no, I’m dead! No! This can’t be happening! I thought as I slowly began to regain consciousness. I didn’t feel any pain and I should have. Being hit by a car would give you some pretty extreme injuries. The only reason for that would be that I was dead and in heaven. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to open my eyes because that would prove that I am really dead and I will never see my friends and family for a long time. Then I realized that I would finally be able to see Chris. I knew he would be in heaven because we went to the same church. I opened my eyes and tried to sit up very quickly. Something hard restrained me and I dropped back down, closing my eyes.

“Ouch!” I winced as my head hit the ground. Then I realized that the ground was wet and hard. When I opened my eyes I saw the most amazing thing ever. I was looking into the most gorgeous face I had ever seen. He had a very pale face and golden eyes. His hair was kind of long, light brown, and flipped out at the ends. “Chris,” I murmured without thinking, “I must be dead.”

“You aren’t dead, I pushed you out of the way right before the car hit you,” he replied gently. That’s when I remembered who he is, or should I say what he is.

“Christopher? What are you doing here?” I’m almost positive that he is a vampire. Oh no, am I bleeding at all? “Am I hurt at all?”

“No, you just have a few scrapes. You aren’t bleeding at all and nothing is broken.

“That’s good, my mom would have freaked,” I was still in a daze trying to figure everything out. “You didn’t answer my first question though.”

“Come with me. You’ve been out for a while and you must be hungry,” He gently grabbed my arm and pulled me up onto my feet. Once he let go and I tried to walk I just sank right back down to the ground.

“I guess I’m still kind of weak.”

“That’s completely understandable, you could have been killed.”

“Oh I don’t think it was that serious.” Honestly he’s making such a big deal about it.

“Are you kidding me? A car almost ran into you! I’d say that was pretty serious.” Wow he was almost hysterical! “Are you ready to go get some food?”

“I’m not hungry,” I replied as I slowly stood up.

“I think that you should eat something; especially after that accident.”

“Fine, I’ll just go through the Taco Bell drive-thru on my way home.” I was beginning to feel really tired and kind of woozy. Maybe I was hungrier than I thought.

“I’ll take you home. I don’t think you are quite up to driving right now.”

“I’m not taking no for an answer. After I just went to all the trouble of saving your life just now, do you really think I would let you drive; just to end up getting into a car accident?”

“Fine, what about my car?” I didn’t really want to leave it in Port Angeles overnight.

“I’ll have someone take care of it. You will have your care by tomorrow afternoon. Can we go now? You really need some food.”

“Ok, let’s go.” We headed off along the street with him guiding me with a hand placed gently on my back. As we rounded the corner he stopped in front of a black Porsche 911 Turbo. “Whoa! I didn’t see this car in the parking lot at school.”

“I drive my other car to school. I don’t want people to drool over my car all day. Come on, get in.” He opened the passenger door for me and I managed to stumble in and I fumbled with the seatbelt; still amazed at his car. “What do you want?”

“Oh, I’ll just have a chicken quesadilla.” I hadn’t even we had started moving, let alone had gotten to Taco Bell. Once we started moving again Christopher turned on some music. Right as the music started, I realized who it was. I had heard this song so much ever since it came out a few years ago. “Awakening,” I whispered to myself.

“You listen to Switchfoot?”

“Yeah, they’re one of my favorite bands. I’ve been to so many of their concerts that I have lost count.” Wow this guy is perfect! He listens to Switchfoot, can sing, and is completely gorgeous.

“Cool. I’ve never been to one of their concerts. I got the chance to go a few times but I was always busy.”

“You should go next time they’re in Seattle or something. Their stage show is the best I have ever seen.”

“Ok, I’ll go, only if you go with me.”

“Ok,” Don’t hyperventilate, you’ll be fine.

“So I have a question, but you have to promise not to get mad.”

“I won’t get mad.”

“When you regained consciousness, you said the name Chris. Is that your friend who died?”

“Yeah, I thought that I was dead. So when I saw you I was sure of it. You look so much like him,” I replied, looking out the window as tears started to well up again. Maybe I should ask him now and just get it over with. I don’t think he would make fun of me for it. No, I’ll wait until I am more positive. “You never answered my first question.”

“Really? What was that?”

“Why were you in Port Angeles? Or should I say was it just a coincidence that you were there at just the right time to save me?” His answer could help prove my theory.

“I was just out shopping and I saw your car. So I parked and got out to try and find you. I wanted to surprise you and make sure you were ok after your little fainting spell yesterday,” That was really yesterday? It seemed so long ago now. “I saw you walking across the street, not paying attention to anything, so I hurried towards you. When I saw the car I thought I was going to be too late; turns out that I was just on time.” I looked over at his face as he was saying this and saw a mixture of emotions, something like fear, pain, and something else. Whatever that something else was, it looked like he was hiding something from me. I can usually tell when someone is lying or hiding something from me and he was no exception. “Well here we are. I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow morning since you don’t have your car.” His voice jolted me out of my thoughts and I realized we were at my house already.

“Ok, thank you,” I replied as I started to get out of the car. “Oh yeah, here are my car keys. Thank you for everything.”

“It was no problem, hopefully.” I don’t think I was supposed to hear that last part. It sent chills down my back and only reinforced my theory.

As I got ready for bed I decided that I was going to talk to Christopher about all of this tomorrow. He was just too much like Chris for it to be a coincidence and there were things about him that just screamed vampire. As I lay down in my bed I had come to the conclusion that Christopher and Chris is the same person and that he is a vampire.
