Her New Life

Christine moves to Forks after 1 1/2 years of pain after her best friend died. What she finds in Forks will change her life forever. I PUT CHAPTER 11 AT THE END OF CHAPTER 10.

This is my first story so hopefully you like it. It doesn't have any Twilight characters, just vampires and it references Twilight.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I mumbled as he pulled me off the couch and we headed to the living room.

“Good, because they’re here now. Come on.” Chris responded amused. Sure enough, right after he said that I heard the door open and close. He seemed very eager for me to meet his family. When we got into the living room I stopped dead in my tracks. For some reason I wasn’t expecting the inhuman beauty of his family, so when I saw them I was completely shocked. There standing in front of me were four of the most beautiful people I had ever seen-not including Chris.

“Hello Christine, it’s so nice to meet you. Chris has told us so much about you.” His mom, Elaine, said warmly.

“It’s great to meet you also.” I was glad she seemed to like me. I was surprised at how comfortable I was around all of the vampires.

“It’s wonderful to be able to meet you after all these years, Christine.” Chris’s dad, Anthony, said.

“Thanks, I’m glad I could meet all of you also.” They seemed really nice.

“Hi Christine! I’m so glad Chris didn’t run away from you again. I’m so excited to get to know you. Although it feels like I already do, with how much Chris has talked about you, and thought about you.” Karen babbled with enthusiasm as she came forward and hugged me.

“Do you hear people’s thoughts?” I asked curiously, all the while thinking about Edward in Twilight.

“Chris didn’t tell you?” She asked in artificial shock. “Yes I can, it can get kind of annoying though when someone won’t stop thinking about someone else.” Karen added looking at Chris. I couldn’t help giggling at the glare Chris was giving Karen, which turned towards me once I started laughing.

“Like you never think about me.” Chris said indignantly.

“But we weren’t talking about me.” I retorted with a smirk. “So you must be Tim, I’m glad I have finally met the brother I have heard so much about.” I said changing the subject as I turned towards the only person who hadn’t said anything yet.

“You’ve heard a lot about me?” He asked curiously.

“Before Chris “died,” or left I guess, he was always telling me about the camping trips and things that he went on with his brother. Of course how much of that is actually true I have no clue now.”

“All I did was leave out the vampire stuff.” Chris explained.

“Ok sure.” I replied.

“Well as much fun as this picking on Chris stuff is, I’m going to take Christine out to dinner. She hasn’t eaten all day and I’ll bet that she’s starving.” Chris said as he started to lead me to the door.

“Ok, don’t stay out too late, Christine needs her sleep.” Elaine called after us.

“Don’t worry, we’ll come right back after she’s done eating.” Chris replied exasperated.

On the way back from dinner I sat thinking about all that we had talked about. I had asked him if we were finally going out and it was decided that yes we were. He also apologized about 10 times for leaving and never telling me how he felt about me. Just thinking about it made me smile; no matter all the horrible things that had happened since I moved to Forks I couldn’t help but be happy that I found Chris and we were together.

“Christine.” Chris’s voice jolted me out of my reverie. I realized that we were back at the house.

“Oh, sorry,” I replied as I got out of the car. Chris was immediately there, holding my hand and leading me towards the door. Once we were inside Karen ran over and pulled me upstairs.

“So I have everything you’ll need; toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, some pajamas, and some extra clothes. You can sleep in Chris’s room; he doesn’t need a bed since he doesn’t sleep. If you’re up to it then you can go to school tomorrow, but no pressure. You just woke up today so it is completely understandable if you want to take a couple more days off. Here is Chris’s bathroom that you can use, you already know where his room is so I’ll say goodnight and leave you alone.” Karen said along the way. Then she hugged me, gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and bounced off downstairs. I went into the bathroom so that I could brush my teeth and change into the pajamas that Karen had put on the counter. Once I was done I headed into Chris’s room where I found him playing an acoustic guitar. He was so into his playing that he didn’t even notice me enter the room.

“I didn’t know you played guitar.” I said softly as I walked towards him. He jumped when he heard my voice.

“Do you like it?” He asked.

“Yeah, it’s beautiful. Did you write it?” I didn’t recognize the song.

“Yes, there are lyrics too. If you’re lucky maybe I’ll sing it for you sometime.”

“I’m looking forward to it.” I responded as I went and sat down on the bed.

“You look tired.” Chris said as he studied my face.

“I guess I do feel kind of tired.” Truthfully I felt really tired, but I just didn’t want to admit it.

“Well then lie down.” Chris said as he gently pushed me down. Then he kissed my forehead, sat on the edge of the bed, and resumed playing the guitar. No matter how much I didn’t want to go to sleep, I couldn’t help drifting off. The last thing I remember is Chris saying that he loved me before I fell asleep; not having any clue about how much my life would change the very next day.
