Hurt- Chapter Two

Bella’s POV

I was shaking with anger when I heard noiseless footsteps coming towards us. I recognized the scent─ Angela. How can she break her promise, she would never eavesdrop if I ever talk to Edward alone!

She appeared giving me an apologetic glance. I stared at her menacingly. I didn’t know what was going to happen, until I felt an electric jolt brewing throughout my body, with short expectations, Angela went still then started screaming.

I didn’t have time to look at Edward’s reaction. I completely concentrated on turning off the hideous sight. I never know the omen’s of the day after the Cullen’s left.

I let out a big sigh when I saw Angela struggling to get up. “Angela, let me help you.” I said fleeing towards her in half a second.

“What did you just do to me?” She gasped as she weakly tried to hold me back. Edward was beside Angela. Then as he saw the conflict going between the two of us girls.

“There’s only one way to figure this one out… Eleazar.” I then remembered what Carlisle told me about Eleazar.

I thought about it for a second. “Fine I’ll go tomorrow and will be back the next day.” I stated seriously. Then Edward frowned, disagreeing on the idea.

“Didn’t you mean us?” he asked, also giving me his seductive crooked smile. “You barely even know this guy.”

“Are you serious?” I shrieked.

“I am not going in the car with you alone.” He frowned again. Thinking of another idea, I thought.

“Fine,” he said stubbornly.

“We could ask Angela what she felt.” I nodded agreeing with him.

We both stared at the empty space beside Edward, where Angela was supposed to be. We were so involved in our argument that we didn’t realize she left.

I started running as fast as I could to the house. Part of me wanted to see Angela right away, and the other part just wanted to see if Edward could outrun me.

I stopped at the front door and let myself in. Edward flashed in front of me with a huge grin. “I win.” He whispered in my ear. I called myself quickly forcing down the urge to stick my tongue out at him like a 5-year-old.

I pushed pass him and walked straight to Angela. “I already read her mind, and she didn’t know what happened to her. All she remembered was the pain.” Edward said calmly behind me.

“I guess we really have to talk to Eleazar after all.” I grumbled to Edward as we ran to his car. He nodded running ahead of me, showing off.

We rode in his new car, the Eternity. The seat was comfortable and warm during the awkward drive to Denali.

“What does Eleazar look like?” I asked, breaking the silence after ten minutes.

“You’ll see.” He said giving me the third crooked smile of the day─ I counted.

When we finally arrived, there was a girl sitting in the doorstep, golden locks of hair were crowning her beautiful face, this must be the famous Tanya. The house was built in the middle of the city─ so clearly they must be blending in.

“Hi Edward! I’m so glad you’re here.” Tanya said grinning at Edward, ignoring me. I smiled at her hoping she gets the message that there was nothing going on between Edward and me.

“This is Bella Swan, she wanted to consult Eleazar,” Edward introduced me calmly and formally putting his arms at the small of my back. I shrugged it off looking at him.

Tanya looked at us, eyeing us actually at the way we were acting together. “Eleazar has gone hunting.” She then turned around, and opened the French door, and leaving it open for us.

When I saw their living room, I was in shock. It was nothing like Esme’s white and sophisticated living room. The living room has a 60” plasma TV surrounded by black leather sofas and a glass coffee table in the middle.

Tanya waved her hands to the couch offering us to take our seats. “So, when do you think Eleazar will come home?” I asked, raising my eyebrows. She looked at her wrist watch, then looked at us and said, “He’ll be home in a couple of minutes.”

Minutes had passed as we satin the living room, feeling Tanya’s eyes gazing at me. Then I sighed in relief when we heard a light knock on the door. Tanya was already at the door, opening it for Eleazar, Kate, and Carmen to come in.

“Who is this here?” He asked Edward in a deep voice, and then looked at me.

“This is Bella Swan; she wanted to talk to you.” Edward moved to my side introducing me again.

“I could sense her ability now, its shield.” Eleazar smile at me thinking his job was done.

“I actually have another power.” I walked towards him, releasing the shield out completely.

He staggered the smiled at me again. “You have a very interesting ability, very special indeed.” I smiled back, grinning was more like it.

“What is it?” I asked eagerly. I was giddy with joy when he said the word interesting.

I looked back at Edward; his eyes were wide with shock as he read Eleazar’s thoughts.

“You have the power to concentrate on one particular person,” he paused.

He looked at me still smiling. “Have you heard of the Volturi?” I nodded, confused, not knowing where this was going. “So you know Jane and Alec then?” I nodded again, stiffly this time. “Well apparently you have both Jane and Alec’s power but stronger
