What if Jacob imprinted on Bella and Edward's leaving pulled them closer? What if Bella chose her Sun over the Eclipse?

In honor of the upcoming Twilight Saga: New Moon release in November, I have created a story that in my opinion, should have followed New Moon. Hope you like it.

Chapter 7: Hotdogs, Hamburgers, and Emily's Potato Salad!

"Okay, she didn't exactly lie. But, Dad, I ended it with Edward tonight," I said into the phone as Jake stood there munching on a bag of Doritos.

"I'm-I'm sorry, sweetheart. I know how much he meant to you...what-what brought this on though? You pretty much told me to either accept Edward or you would leave."

"I know and that was wrong of me. I'm very sorry for saying that to you. But, you were right. You saw what his leaving did to me."

"It almost killed you."

"I know and I realized that I deserve someone who will love me and never leave me. I have that now."

"Jacob? You're with Jacob?"

"Well, it's still in the early stages, Dad, but yes. I'm with Jake now."

"Bella, are you sure everything's all right? I can come down there and get you and bring you home."

"No, Dad. I really want to spend some time with Jake. I'll be back tomorrow. I love you."

"You, too, Bells."

"So, what's the verdict?" Jacob said, holding a Dorito to his mouth. I snagged it from him and laughed.

"I think he's a little confused right now, but he already likes you so that's a big plus. And anyway, it doesn't matter what he thinks."

Jake put the bag of Doritos on the table and drew me into him. "What matters is that I have you."

"And that I have you."

We started kissing then and didn't stop until we heard someone clearing their throat.

"Can someone please explain to me what's going on around here?" Sam said as the others stared at us, mouths hanging open.

"Sure, but let's take this conversation outside. We don't want to wake my Dad."

Jake and I followed the others out. We walked all the way to the beach. Jake and I stood before them explaining what happened, starting with the day Jake imprinted on me and ending with what Leah heard me telling Edward.

"And that's it," I said. Jake wrapped his arm around me as his brothers and Leah watched us in silence.

"Wow." - Leah.

"About damn time!" - Paul, of course.

"All right, then." - Jared.

"Better late than never." - Quil.

"At least there will be no more vampire stink!" - Embry.

"As long as you're happy, Bella." - Seth.

"Good to have you back on our side, Bella." - Sam.

"Ok, well I think tomorrow we should have a barbecue for the big couple! We could have hotdogs, hamburgers, and Emily's potato salad!" Embry said with a lustful sigh.

"Hang on, guys, first things first. Have we lost the support of the Cullens on the she-vamp situation?" Sam asked, always being the leader.

"Well, I wasn't sure that you guys would continue to want their help. After the way things ended, I'm not exactly sure they would be willing to anyway. Is that a bad thing?"

"No, we don't need them," Jake answered.

"It will be a disadvantage, but not exactly a bad thing. You will have to spend more time here though, where we can protect you better. All right guys," he said, turning to the pack. "I want around the clock patrols on Bella's house. We'll take shifts. I don't want any mistakes..."

I started tuning out Sam's tactical plan. I stared up at Jake. He was so tall now. His shoulders were wide and underneath the long-sleeved tan sweater he wore was nothing but pure muscle. Jake had the body of a grown man and the face of a teenager. It made me wonder. Jake turned to me, staring into my eyes. He smiled at me lovingly. His smile made me feel warm, loved.

"Jake!" Sam called, pulling us both out of our daze. "I said tomorrow we will rest, then it's back to patrolling. Bella it may be best for you to sit out tomorrow so we can get this all sorted out. Do you know if the Cullens are still in town?"

"As far as I know."

"All right, you two get out of here. Jake, I'll brief you later. All right people, do a sweep and then get back here. Move out!"

"Would you rather stay in my room or Rachel's old room?" Jake asked as we walked back to the house.

"Yours is fine. If you don't mind sharing with me."

"I'll never mind."

When we got back to the house, I took a quick shower and changed into one of the things Alice packed for me. It was a pair of black short shorts and a red tank. I guess she thought this would be something I could prance around in for Edward. To see the look on her face if she knew I would use this to get Jacob's blood boiling. When I came out he was lying on his bed staring up at the ceiling with a goofy grin on his face. He was down to his boxers-no shirt. As he laid there, it dawned on me that there was something I always wanted to do. I ran and jumped on top of him. We laughed together. Something that would never have happened with Edward.

"What are you doing, Bella?"

"Nothing." I sat up, wrapping my legs around him. He was so warm between my thighs. "Just wanted to surprise you."

"Well, you straddling me is definitely a surprise. A nice one though." Jake rubbed his hands up my back, his warm skin setting me ablaze.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Whatever you want, Bells." He started sliding his fingers up and down my stomach. I tried to control myself, but I could feel my juices leaking out through my shorts. Jake started smiling then, never taking his eyes or fingers away from my stomach. I guess his werewolf senses noticed my scent.

"You said that when you phase, the pack can see everything in your mind."

"Does everything include everything?"

My body started to shake as Jake laughed underneath me. "Unfortunately, yes. But no one really says anything about it. None of us saying anything to Emily."

"Yeah because Sam would probably tear you guys to shreds! What's going to stop Paul or Embry or Quil from saying something?"

"Me. They know not to say anything like that to you. I know it's not the greatest thing in the world having your private life in the minds of others and if it will make you happy then we...won't have sex."

I laughed at the disdain on Jacob's face. Yes, I believed our relationship could work without sex, but where was the fun in that? If that was the case, I could have stayed with Edward and his magic fingers.

"That's not necessary, Jake. I plan to have a very long, healthy sex life with you."

"I can't believe we're having this conversation. I never thought that this would be possible." He took our hands entwining them. "You here with me, loving me. It all just feels like a dream. I'm almost afraid to close my eyes, like if I do, you're going to be gone by the time I open them."

I leaned forward kissing his lips, careful not to deepen it. I was wet enough as it was. I repositioned my body so that I was lying directly on top of him. His soft, warm skin felt amazing next to mine. He held me tightly and we slid into a tender silence.

"I love you, Jake."

"I love you more."
