Chapter 9: Forever And A Day

~BPOV~

Awaking that next morning in Jacob's arms was one of the greatest feelings in the world. As I stirred, I felt something big and hard poking me. Jake was still snoring loudly. I sat up and saw that Jake had some morning wood going on.

"Hmm, what to do? What to do?" I whispered. I did not exactly want to rush the physical aspect of our relationship, but I had no desire to go at a snail's pace with it.

I slipped off Jacob, though he tried to tighten his hold on me. I peeled back his boxers, freeing him. I stole a glance at Jacob's face. He was still snoring loudly. I took a moment to look at it, really look at it. I never really saw one before and Jake's did not disappoint. It stood long and thick, veins pulsating in it. I carefully ran my finger down his shaft. His snoring softened. I smiled wickedly. I slid my tongue down him in one movement the same way I did with my finger. Jake stopped snoring then. He sighed softly. Oh, you can better than that, Jake. I brought my lips to his tip, kissing it. A soft moan escaped his lips then. His eyes were still closed, but I could tell from his breathing he was wide-awake. Inches by inches, I took more of him in my mouth. Jake started breathing heavily then. His hands knotted in my hair, urging me not to stop. I kept going, craving the sweetness building inside of him.

"Bella," he groaned. He started to sweat then. His body shook and I knew it was not from phasing. In an instant, he came inside my mouth. His warm, sweet fluids filled my mouth as I swallowed hungrily.

"Good morning," I whispered.

"A hell of a good morning," he laughed.

We started kissing then. Jake slipped his hand inside of my shorts, stroking me there. My juices drenched his hand as he slipped two fingers inside of me.

"Mmm, you like being my bad girl, Bella?" he whispered to me.

"I love being your bad girl," I said in between gasps as he twirled his tongue in my ear. He sucked on my neck. His fingers made loud squishing sounds inside of me. The faster he moved, the louder his bed began to squeak.

"Oh my god, oh my god, Jake I'm going to come!" I squealed.

"Come for me, Bella."

He slipped a hand over my mouth as my body arched off the bed trembling and shaking. Jake brought his hand out from inside my shorts, licking his fingers. We started kissing again when a hard knock came on Jacob's bedroom door.

"Son, is everything all right in there?" Billy called from the other side.

"Yeah, Dad, I was just about to get up."

There was a pause outside. I had the feeling that Billy suspected something.

"Jacob Black is Bella in there with you?" he called sternly.

Jake looked down at me with an apologetic grimace. I kissed his lips once and nodded.

"Yeah Dad, she spent the night."

"I want to see the two of you out here right now!"

We got up then, disheartened that our exciting morning had come to such a screeching halt. Since Billy seemed agitated enough, I decided to change out of my sleepwear and into a jogging suit. Jake pulled on a t-shirt and some jeans. We walked into the living room preparing to meet our fates.

Billy was in his chair, still wearing his robe. I guess our early hour activities had awakened him.

"Explain."

"Well," Jake and I began simultaneously. I laughed and decided to let Jake tell it. While he spoke, I decided to get up and cook some breakfast, only throwing in an "mmm-hmm," or a, "exactly," when the conversation called for it.

"Let me see if I understand this correctly," Billy said after I put a plate of bacon, eggs, grits and jelly toast before him.

"Okay," I said when Jake was too busy wolfing down his breakfast to respond.

"You broke up with your vampire last night..."

"Yes."

"And now you're dating my son..."

"Yes."

"Because he imprinted on you...?"

"No, Billy. I'm with Jake because I want to be. I love him."

Billy looked a little skeptical at first. Then he caught sight of Jacob's loving gaze at me as he ate his breakfast.

"In any case, at least now we won't have to worry about you or Charlie being killed."

"I wouldn't breathe so easily yet, Billy. Victoria is still out there." Just the thought of her running loose, planning my death and possibly the deaths of those I held dear made me feel sick.

"You don't need to worry about that. Sam and the others are all over it. I'm not going to let anything happen to you, not ever."

He put his arm around my shoulders, kissing my temple. I felt a sort of peace in his embrace that I had not felt in a long time. Billy said nothing else about our relationship after that. He only stole little glances at me while Jake stared at me affectionately.

After breakfast, the plan was to get dressed and hang out on the rez until school let out in Forks. During that time, I went to Emily's house. We stood in the kitchen, making lunch for the boys.

"I have to say Bella, this all comes as a very huge surprise," she said with a small smile. Even with the large scar on her face, she was as beautiful as any vampire was.

"I know. I can only imagine what you all must be thinking," I said, pouring the sugar into the pitcher of lemonade.

"I know when Sam told me last night, I blinked and said, ‘what? No, you must be mistaken.' And now here you are." She looked at me worried then.

"What is it you're not saying, Emily?"

"Bella, we all adore you here and we're crazy about Jake. But if you're doing this just because Jake imprinted on you-."

"Are you telling me that you would be with someone other than Sam?"

"I love Sam more than anything in this world, but if he had not imprinted on me we would not be together now. He was my cousin's boyfriend for goodness sake! You have no idea how awful I feel seeing the pain in her eyes every time Sam kisses me or looks at me in a way that-."

"That makes you feel as if you are the only woman in the world. That you will be happy and safe as long as you're in his arms."

"Exactly. What I'm trying to say to you Bella is that what we are thinking...what we are hoping is that you are not with Jacob because you feel that you have to, just to ease his suffering. If that's the case, then it's not exactly fair to you and it's definitely not fair to Jacob."

"That explains all of the same apprehensive looks around here. Emily, I hope you pass this on to Sam and anyone else who has doubts. I'm with Jake because I want to be. I know that may be hard to believe, considering the lengths I was willing to go to be with Edward. Jake is my future now. I didn't listen to you guys and you were right all along. I don't belong with Edward. I never did."

Emily nodded, although I was sure she was still not thoroughly convinced of my devotion to Jake. Regardless to that, we made a lunch of cold cuts for the guys and made hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and chicken for the barbecue that night.

Jake and I went through the show of dropping me off in his Rabbit at Charlie's house. He did a quick sweep around the house, inside and out to make sure everything was clear. When the check was done, he kissed me goodbye and parked his car down the block. He said that he wanted to phase and keep an eye on me until we were back in La Push.

I went upstairs to my room, grabbing clothes to put on after my shower. As soon as I stepped into the room, I was hit with the overwhelming scent of Edward. Nothing looked out of place, so I naturally assumed it was his lingering scent. Oh, well. I went to my closet, searching through it.

"Where the hell is my blue blouse?"

After searching and coming up short, I decided to improvise. I spent most of the day inside with Emily so I didn't have a chance to get down to the beach. Maybe Jake and I could swim before we ate. I took a warm shower, letting the tension ease out of my muscles. I dressed in a short-sleeved blue and white striped collar shirt and cut-off blue jeans with sandals. By the time I came downstairs, Charlie was hanging up his gun.

"Hey, Bella." He pulled me into a hug as though he was expecting me to fall to pieces or something.

"Hey, Dad. How was your night?"

He scoffed. "My night? My night was fine. What about yours? I know you're probably upset right now."

"Not as much as you would think."

He looked at me hard for a while. "You and Jake, really?"

"Dad, I know it's a little sudden, but-."

"Sudden? Bella, I couldn't pry you and Edward apart with a crowbar! Now you are telling me that it's over? I don't-Bella, Bella did he hurt you? Is that why you broke with him? Did he hurt you?"

"No, no, Dad. It was nothing like that. I broke up with Edward because I wasn't happy. When he came back, I was so happy at first. But then it hit me, he left me once, what was there to stop him from leaving me all over again? Maybe not even coming back, this time. I started spending all of my time waiting for him to leave me again. I knew if he ever did, I wouldn't be able to survive it again. I no longer felt that safeness with him, Dad. I know with Jake that I'm safe and loved and that he will never leave me."

"Okay, Bells, take it easy. I didn't mean to upset you." He reached out wiping away the tears I had no idea had fallen. "Billy called the station. He's invited us up for a barbecue. I assume you knew," he said, taking in my attire.

"Yeah, Jake called a little while ago. Do you want to go?"

"Sure, gives you a break from cooking dinner tonight."

We climbed into my truck. I let Charlie drive. He knew the way as well as I did. When we got there, Charlie went into the house. I went down to the beach where everyone else was.

"Where's Jake?"

"Here I am," he said, coming out of the woods. He wore no shirt, only short pants. He swept me up into his arms as the rest of the pack made little gagging noises. Seth was the most dramatic about it.

"I really hope you guys won't do that while we eat," he grimaced.

Jake slipped his arm around my waist and walked me down the beach. The waves crashed loudly around us.

"It seems like you're going out of your way to tempt me tonight, Bells."

"Maybe I am," I teased.

"What do you say we take a quick swim before the food is ready?"

"I don't know, Jake. I think you just want an excuse to get me alone and wet."

"You know me too well."

I stepped back from him, removing my shirt and pants. We swam in the water, while the others drifted in one by one to join us. At some point, we forgot they were there. He kissed me greedily as I clung to him, wanting to feed my desires right there.

After we ate, Jake walked me back to the truck while Charlie said his goodbyes to Billy.

"Have you thought about what you're going to do after graduation?"

"I'm not sure. Seeing as how I actually have a future now, I can pretty much do anything. I was thinking about going to school and study medicine or maybe even move to New York and work as a secretary to a really overbearing, playboy exec," I said, throwing in the last part as a joke.

"How very cliché of you. In other words, you want to get out of Forks."

"Do you want to spend the rest of your life here? I know the pack is important to you, but Jake there's so much more out there for us."

He turned to me. His solemnity turned into surprise. "Us? You want me to come with you when you go to school?"

"Of course. Don't you get it by now, Jake? It's you and me until the end."

"Then maybe this wasn't such a crazy idea like the guys thought," Jacob said, thinking hard.

"What wasn't?"

Jake leaned me against the truck, hiding us from Charlie and Billy's view. "I don't want him to freak out. I don't even know if you're going to freak out or not."

"Jake, you're rambling. Spit it out. You can talk to me about anything."

He nodded and reached into his pants pocket. "Close your eyes."

"Jake."

"Come on, close them for me."

I sighed, closing my eyes.

"Open them."

When I did, Jake was gone. I felt him near me. I looked down and he was kneeling in front of me, holding my hand with a diamond ring in the other.

"Jake..."

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Bella. Will you marry me?"

I looked at the ring as it sparkled in the moonlight. It was gold, looked to be about 1 carat and held a single diamond in the center.

"Knees kind of giving out down here, Bella," he joked, but I could tell it was to hide his fear of rejection. Well, rejection was the last thing Jake would ever have to worry about from me.

"Yes, Jake. I will marry you."

Little tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. "You mean that? You will be with me forever?"

"Forever and a day."

Jake slipped the ring on my finger and picked me up. He spun me in the air and set me back down. As we stood there embracing, I heard Charlie ask Billy and the rest of the pack what was going on.

"Well Charlie, I think you and I have just become in-laws."
