Fear

Summary:
In Breaking Dawn Bella wondered what Jasper did to make J.Jenks so afraid of him. This is my take on the events that played out. Cullen. Now that brought back some memory's. I wondered briefly if this was Mr.Cullen's wife or one of his sisters. The name brought back the fear Mr.Cullen had induced. I remember the first meeting all to well for my liking.

I met him where I met the usual clients for illegal arrangements. The house with out the real address. It wasn't on the maps or even on google. There was no record of it. I made sure that it was untraceable. Mr.Cullen had gotten my number from one of my other clients and called to set up the appointment. When I accepted his business I had no idea that I would have to keep a massive secret along with it. The memory flooded into my sences momentaraly clouding out everything else.

I was sitting in the living area or what was supposed to be the living area. I had put a few office materials in it. I had a desk, some chairs, a mini fridge for beverages, and of course all the necessity for files. It was a dreary place. You would think it was a setting for a haunted house. I didn't want to to be bright and cheerful. The curtains were a deep red. Walls were brick and a bit flaky. The windows still needed to be replaced I just hadn't gotten around to it, they were still there just had graffeti on them. The desk and chairs were also red. The mini fridge was black. There was a black leather sofa on the oposite side of the room from me. I was fiddling with the nob on the drawer that came off trying to replace it but it wouldn't go back. Max came in anouncing that Mr. Cullen had arrived.

I was ready for the usual talk about my work and money. I was not ready for what happened though.
Mr.Cullen looked to be nineteen maybe twenty. He had ash blonde hair with friendly gold eyes. He was tall and lanky with a bit of muscle to him. He was dressed in a navy blue suit with a white under shirt. He looked very presentable.

"Why don't you have a seat Mr.Cullen?" I offered
"First I need to know if you can handle being given information that will leave you with many unanswered questions?"
"That's part of my job, I assure you what you have to offer I can keep just between the two of us."
"Then please tell your assistant the go for a walk for about ten minutes, I have no intent of harm."

I was dubious but he had assured me the money would be worth it, he sent me a bank statement showing their funds in one of his accounts and I had no doubt that he could pay what was needed. I was in some debt from gambling during the summer in Vagas. I was in no position to tell him my assistant would stay. As uncomfortable as I was with sending him off I would have to.
"Max. would you please leave as Mr.Cullen has asked?" Max was in the room with us as per usual for a witness.
"Of course sir I will be back in a few minutes."

As Max walked out Mr. Cullen walked towards my desk with a warm smile. He waited for a few moments as if he was making sure Max was out of ear shot.
"You and I will be working together over the course of many years. You will not see any physical difference in me at all. I will not change apperence wise either. I need that to stay between us. Our metting need to stay between me and you only." He paused to pick up my stapler off the desk as he had already made he way over while speaking. He had me already confused, but I wasn't going to ask questions it was obvious that I wasn't going to get any answers from him. His friendly smile disapeared and in it's place was a sneer. I was taken back by the shift in his expression.

"If I find out-which I will- that you so much as hint at anything about me or my family to anyone this will be your head." The stapler he was holding was suddenly silver ash, like flour but silver not white. That's impossible I thought. There is no way he could have done that! Yet I knew it was real. I didn't and still don't know how but it was real. I knew that the Cullen's were dangerous if angered. My heartbeat picked up pace. I could feel the sweat trickle down my forhead and the nape of my neck. I would have wiped it away but the fear I felt was freezing me. I didn't want to move. My breathing was becoming labored. I felt like I was going to faint. And then there was....nothing...I wasn't feeling anything. I was wondering if it was shock. My emotions suddenly became depressing, to the point where I wanted to commit suicide.

"I can make you do my dirty work. I can make you so angry that you kill someone or so depressed and sad that you will kill yourself." My emotions turned into pain. I was feeling what a real heart ache was. I knew it was him know but couldn't make it stop. Just as suddenly as I lost control over them they were mine. He must have stopped toying with them.
"Are we at an understanding, and can you do what I need done?" Mr.Cullen asked.
"Y..Y..Yes...sir...I understand and I will work with out, n..no questions asked"
Mr.Cullen smirked and sat down.

I knew that if I declined him he would have finished me off right then because of what he had already shared with me. I didn't know what Mr.Cullen was and wasn't sure I wanted to know. I did know that I would never speak of this day to anyone ever. I would like to be alive for my family.
That fear I felt that first meeting has never left, it's only gotten stronger. For that I'm grateful, it means my life is safe.

"April! I'm expecting a Ms.Cullen shortly"
