I slid my legs off his back so I could fully witness his expression to the gift.

There the piano sat, all polished and in pristine condition, waiting to be used.

This was going to be a wondrous trip down memory lane for him, and I couldn’t wait to experience the full impact of that journey with him.

The piano had a huge blue ribbon tied on top of it, courtesy of Alice.

It was perfect. I stood to the side of the instrument, and watched as his eyes slowly slid open, taking in his surroundings, and the object in front of him.

Edward gasped and left his mouth hanging open like a fish.

He was completely speechless for a time and I began to panic.

“Edward?” I quietly murmured. Nothing. “Edward?” I repeated, hoping to get some kind of response from my husband.

Just as I was about to tap him, he gently smiled, a shy half smile.

“Is that a…” he shook his head lightly and continued. “It can’t be a… an old Windover?” he questioned it in amaze.

I smiled and lightly nodded. Suddenly he had me in his arms, spinning me around with delight.

From that moment I realised I had picked out the perfect present.

His happiness spread a huge grin to my face.

He kissed me passionately on the lips and then went to sit at his new piano.

He began tinkering with it, until the pitch was perfect. He rose and dragged me over to sit on the stool with him.

I got my beautiful crooked smile and then the beginnings of a beautiful piece.

My lullaby.

“That was beautiful.” I managed to get out past my astonishment. “Thank you” were his only words filled with emotion and elate.

“Do you like it?” I asked.

Edward looked at me as if I had three heads.

“I love it. The second best present I have ever received.” That confused me. What could top this then? “You and Nessie are my first.” he said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

My face lit up at my husbands perfect words. Edward played on his new piano into the night.

I was there listening and memorising every note played by his skilled hands.

It was the perfect night and I was by his side.

It had been far too long since I had spent quality time with my daughter.

Now I was about to wake her up and chase the dawn with her on this beautiful Tuesday morning.

“Nessie,” I whispered over her and Jake’s sleeping forms, luckily with clothes on. I got no answer. “Nessie,” Still no answer.

Pregnancy must be putting her in deeper sleeps these days.

This time I shook her arm “Renesmee!” Her eyelids flickered and opened.

She put her hand unconsciously to her ever growing baby bump.

She was so beautiful, the spitting image of Edward.

Her baby bump just enhanced her gorgeous features, at that minute, staring at my baby daughter, I could never be more proud of her.

“Mom? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing sweetie. Come with me, I want to show you something,” I knew the perfect place to take her.

She got out of bed, grabbed a sweater and followed me out of the house.

We decided to take my upgraded Ferrari, that Edward said I so badly needed after 15 years use of the previous one.

Comfortable silence descended on us as we drove out of the garage and onto the main stretch.

“Mom, don’t you think it’s a bit dangerous making a pregnant woman wake up at this early hour.

Some of us still actually need our sleep.” We smiled at that last comment.

“I just want to spend some time with you Nessie, I feel like we barely do anything together anymore.” Even I could hear the sorrow in my voice.

Her small smile fell as she processed my words.

“Aww, Mom I’m never far away, you know that.” God I’m starting to sound like Renee, always worrying. Am I really that old? I smiled at my daughter.

“I know, and you’re going to love where I’m taking you.”

Her face lit up again, and made me smile.

Another twenty minutes and we were at our destination.

Unbeknown to Nessie, we were at the place where me and her father spent our days.

Our meadow.

The smell of newly growing freesias was there, along with the old wooden oak scent, this was home, the best place.

It suddenly felt wrong being here without Edward, but this was my time with my daughter, and that was how it was going to be today.

Just us.

“Where are we, Mom?” Nessie asked with a puzzled expression.

I smiled at her.

“This is the where I spent my human days, with your father, rolling around in___” I was interrupted.

“Jeez Mom, I really don’t need to know all that!”

A loud laugh came from my belly.

“Ooh sweetie, its nothing like that. I was human at the time, he forbade all that. No, this was where I felt the most safe, with the man I love,”

She watched me with nothing but love and adoration in her eyes.

“I want this place to be yours now. Yours, Jake’s, and that new little baby of yours. I’ve had so many precious memories here, and now its your turn.”

She jumped into my arms, and hugged me as tight as she could.

Her huge belly was blocking my full path to her.

Suddenly, I felt a slight nudge at my belly.

I looked up to Nessie and she was crying.

“Did you feel that Mom?”

I looked at her and nodded, we felt her little bubba move.

I just felt my grandchild kick, and it was such a beautiful feeling.

“Oh, my Baby’s having a baby.” I blubbed.

“Oh Mom.” she giggled and held me in a soft embrace.

This was perfection as me and my daughter spent the day together in the most precious place in my world.

Nessie explained how she and Jacob had to pack their things in order to return home.

She needed her home comforts to keep herself and her baby healthy.

Poor Jacob was in for a tough time having to deal with all off Nessie’s demands.

I suppose being six months pregnant does that to you.

I pray every night that what ever traits my daughters baby takes, they will both be fit and healthy.

That’s all I can really ask as a parent.

After waving off our daughter, Edward and I went off hunting.

My hand was in his the entire way as we both exchanged loving smiles and sexy winks.

Edward caught his prey first, a large stag which was an easy kill to sate his thirst.

Mine was a female and a lot easier to catch, the blood dulled the fire in my throat and left the usual want for more.

Edward was across the forest smiling broadly at me.

“What?” I asked, feeling a little self-conscious.

“You are so beautiful.” His compliments made my heart soar.

“Thank you,” I walked over to him and whispered in his ear. “So are you.”

My smile was huge at this point.

We both knowingly looked at each other, and it didn’t take long for our clothes to be shred and our hands to roam.

In the forest with my perfect husband.
