Chapter two: Beautiful.

The man – I nearly had turned into a dark spot, on the hard concrete – had turned to face me, and was walking slowly towards me.

He was so very beautiful, more then I had remembered he was; with his dark hair and thick curls. White as a sheet, and looked solid as a rock. Big and brawny, and a little scary with a broad grin spreading on his face.

As he walked closer, I shifted to lock the doors in my car. One push on the button – in the driver’s side door – and all the doors locked mechanically. Thank God for automatic locking system… though I really didn’t believe in God.

He was still coming closer. I followed him wary with my eyes. Something about this situation should have made a huge alarm clock go off in my mind, and I really should be calling the police. But I didn’t, I just watched him come closer and when he was at the passenger side of my car, he knocked softly on the window, gesturing to open the door…

I swallowed, and cracked the window open, one centimeter. “I’m sorry,” I said breathless and fumbled for my cell phone, “are you alright?” I asked panicky.

He grinned widely, “Yeah, I’m good.”

“What, the Hell do you think you were doing?!” I said frustrated. “I could have killed you!"

“I’m sorry, I thought you saw me, my car broke down,” he said and gestured to the way I came from, “I was hoping you could help me out.”

“Why don’t you call a tow truck?” I asked suspiciously. It didn’t seam right, first of all I didn’t see a car back there…

He pulled out a cell phone and shook it lightly, “No signal.”

“Oh, well there is a gas station a few miles, or so, that way.” I said and pointed towards the sign a little further up the road. “I bet you can borrow a phone there.”

“I’m sorry to ask you, but could you give me a ride? I’ve been walking all day trying to find signal or someone to help me out.” He smiled a stunning smile, and I was dazed for a moment.

“So? Could I get a ride?” he asked impatiently.

I took in a deep breath, and opened the doors slowly, “Sure, but I’m warning you,” I said pointing a finger at him. “I’ve got a black belt.”

He opened the door and laughed, “I’m sure you could kick my ass.” He chuckled between laughter. I don’t know why, but I kinda trusted him… This was weird, since I didn’t know him, and he looked like a big bully, planning to terrorize me.

“Do you mind driving me back to my car, my brother is waiting there.” He said and looked at me with a dazzling smile.

“Um, no I guess that’s okay, how far?” I asked dazed.

“Not that far,” he smiled again.

“Okay.” I stared at him moron like, as I shifted the car into gear, and drove of the direction I just came from.

----

We drove down the road in silence.

“So where you headed?” he asked me, breaking the awkward silence.

“I’m going back to school, in Cheney.”

“That’s nice,” he said “Collage?”

“Yeah,” I said, “Just visiting family, in Canada.”

“Ugh,” he grimaced, “that’s a long ride.”

“It’s not that bad, it’s a nice ride.” I argued.

“Alright.” He grinned.

We drove a little longer and I started wondering where his car was.

“How much further?” I asked scanning the area.

“Not that far,” he said, “do you see those trees over there?” he asked and pointed a head.

“I see trees every where.”

He laughed, “Sorry, I mean those Oak trees,” he pointed again forward, but this time I saw what he meant. There was a curving at the road a head. Some big Oak trees were lined perfectly on the sides of the road like a wall protecting the forest from cars and people.

“Yeah, I see them now.” I said, while passing the previously mentioned Oak’s.

“Good, it’s just past them, on the side.”

I looked around when we passed the curving, but I still couldn’t see anything. “I don’t see your car.”

“Park here,” he ignored my comment and pointed to a small clearing in the trees.

I drove in between the trees and turned the engine off. “So where is your car?” I asked him bewildered.

“I’m sorry,” he said and looked straight into my eyes. “I lied to you, my car didn’t break down.”

“I’m s-sorry…” I stammered. “Then what…” I started.

“I wanted to speak with you Bella.” He said, looking into my eyes intensely.

“My name is not Bella.” I said shortly, panic clear in my voice.

“Oh sorry, I forgot.” He said dumfounded. “You look almost the same, it made me forget, that you forgot.” I looked at him idiotically, Baffled for a second. “You know…” He said like he was trying to explain something highly advanced to me. “I mean, you don’t know. That’s the problem here, but you’re going to remember soon.” He smiled.

“Remember?” I asked, confused.

“Yeah, don’t worry Bella.” He soothed “You’ll know everything soon enough.” he grinned again.

“My name is not Bella,” I said shortly, “and would you be so kind to get the Hell out of my car!” I demanded loudly.

He pouted, “Yeah, now you have a different name.” he looked like this bothered him a great deal. But he didn’t listen to my demand, and that scared me.

I stared at him, like a mental person for a hell of a lot seconds, before I just shook my head; he obviously believed I was this Bella, or whomever he was talking about. I really regretted I didn’t call the cops, and kept me doors locked.

There was a silent knock on the window next to me, I flinched and turned to the sound. A tall, blond haired and absolutely gorgeous man was standing outside my window.

I didn’t have time to react before the door was opened. “Look… I don’t know who you are, or what you want–” I started.

“Don’t be afraid,” the tall blond one said, and placed a pale, white hand on my arm. I felt calm instantly, “we don’t mean you harm.” He said soothing.

“I...” I said, not knowing what I was going to say. Maybe I should wait and see what happens now, maybe that tall one was just picking up his retarded friend. I should be so lucky…

“Maybe we should introduce ourselves.” The brawny one said, grinning.

“Hmm, I think you’re right,” the blond one agreed, “for once.” The big one snorted at his comment, but the blond one ignored him, he shifted to look at me. “I’m Jasper” he continued, “Jasper Cullen.”

I stared at him confused and dazed.

“I’m Emmett Cullen.” The big brawny one declared shortly after. The way he said the name, was like he was stating something obvious.

“I’m Elizabeth.” I said, not telling them my last name. But I needed to clear out to them that I was not this Bella person.

“Noooo,” The man named Emmett grimaced, “your name is Isabella Swan. Or well, it used to be.”

Okay someone clearly escaped from the loony bin. How was I going to explain to them, I was not Bella or Isabella whatever, – that gave me an idea – I dug through my purse next to me and pulled out my driver’s license, “No,” I said firmly, “my name is Elizabeth.” I showed the tiny plastic layered card in his face.

“I know, I know.” Emmett said, chuckling. “But, it’s hard to explain. Its better we just show you.” He grinned.

“You’re insane…” I muttered.
