“Her blood will run for your sins, Marcus.” Aro snapped as he stalked out the grand bedroom, following his guards who had left just moments before with their prisoner.
“Why?” He hissed, Didyme was manacled to the wall, she whimpered as the fury fell off her bother in waves.
“I don’t know.” She sobbed in response.
“Do not lie to me.” He enunciated each word with a flick of his sword, a new cut appearing on her pale skin with each one. “Why did you betray me, why would you want to leave”
“I was overwhelmed.”
“That is your excuse?” He yelled, his red eyes glowing dangerously, “You were overwhelmed?”
“I NEEDED SOMEONE TO LOVE ME!” She screamed back, before sobbing brokenly “He loves me and I need that, I’ve been so confused and so lost since you became the head of the Volturi Aro, I gave up my mortal life for you, my husband, my children. Its time you let me go. Let me have the life I want away from all this.”
He stopped pacing and stared at her strangely, “I cannot give you what you desire.”
“I know that, Aro, I know.” She sobbed. “But cant you try, I'm your sister Aro, we grew up together, played together, loved each other”
“You cannot betray me and expect not to be punished.” He hissed, changing the subject
“I know,” She cried brokenly, “You have given me a knew life, an immortal life.”
Aro felt a twinge of something deep down in his chest that he had never felt before as he stared at his beautiful sister in her obvious pain, even with her venom covered chest and legs she was still a sight to behold.”
“I must leave you.”
“How long will I be here for?” She said quietly through her sniffles. “Will I ever be free of this place”
“you will be here until I release you.” He replied just as quietly and left her alone in the dark damp cell, strapped to the wall with venom pouring down her chest.
“Why are you here, Marcus?” Aro hissed behind him.
He stiffened and turned around with his normal cold mask in place.
“You know why I am here, Aro.”
“I think this will be a good opportunity for you to remember your place.” Aro responded thoughtfully and then pointed towards the cell.
Marcus held his head high and walked into the cell before Aro.
He almost lost his lunch when he saw Didyme before him, she was still shackled to the wall and her skin was almost blue from the Venom bruises, she had dried venom caked on every inch of her body and her beautiful curls were matted and dirty.
“What have you done?” He whispered to Aro who was watching his reaction carefully. “What have you done to my mate”
“She has paid for your transgressions, Marcus. Did you really think I would let this go unpunished,?” He hissed furiously. “She is my sister and you are my Second in Command”
“What does that matter, we love each other” He responded weakly, the sight of Didyme so damaged sliced through his once beating soul.
“Yes, it matters” He hissed, “You should have known better, do you think I want to do this” He waved his hand at the bloodied and unconscious Didyme, “Is thanks to you, I punished her because of you.”
Marcus turned and stumbled out of cell and leaned against the cold stone, willing the imaginary bile to go back down. He could not show further weakness.
“Do you see now, Marcus, why I won’t let you have her? She is Venom, body, soul and mine. She belongs to me, I feel what she feels, and her pain is my pain.”
“No siblings bond is that strong”
“The Change did something to us, it forged us together.”
“How much longer will you do this to her?”
“I think her punishment is over.” He Replied as he tour the shackles away from his sisters wrists, “Jane” Aro called, silence desended over the cell as the young vampire stalked in gracefully.
“Take her away, she is to have no visiters”
Both Vampires watched as Jane picked up her masters sisters body and walked out the room
“Am I ever going to see her again” Marcus asked quietly.
“No” Aro hissed over his shoulder as he made a move to leave the cell. And true to his word, Marcus, nor anyone else ever saw Didyme again.
