Chapter 9 Version 1 Part 2: A vampire. DereksPOV

“Damn!” I whispered. She saw me.

My stalking (as some people called it, though I prefer following) Cassidy wasn’t as good an idea as I had once thought. She noticed me, I ducked behind a tree, and then later she caught me again.

She then turned left in to the deep trees and undergrowth. Fantastic.

I decided to take a short cut through the forest to the end of the path which was where she was heading by the looks of it, but it was dark so I couldn’t see much.

I heard a snap of what sounded like a twig and a rustling in the bushes nearby, so I took another left hoping I wouldn’t have gone in a circle. It’s hard to tell with the trees and when your surroundings look the same…and the darkness doesn’t really help either. A large green leaf overlapped with the rest of the bush, and when I moved it with my hand it revealed a large gap which worked like a window while letting the moonlight shine through.

As I stuck my head through the gigantic gap (roughly the size of my head), I saw a figure appear through the trees. Cassidy stumbled through the roots and grass and stopped in the middle of the wide open space, similar to a meadow. I moved my foot, her head snapped to her right, in my direction, and I stopped breathing for a brief moment, praying to god that she doesn’t know it’s me. But just as she had turned her head over to my direction, a second figure emerges, a sort of big and bulky outline that looks menacing, scary even.

He lunges toward her and collides with her still in midair, and sends them falling to the ground as he positions himself with his mouth just mere few inches from her throat. Whoa. The figure I now recognized to be Emmett Cullen…is... a vampire.

Am I going crazy? Because I know he did not just beg for her forgiveness. This is ridiculous! After what he had just done…you’d think he’d be smart enough to know to back off.

“I’m listening.” Cassidy said.

How could she say those words? God, I don’t know what I ever saw in that girl. Well you know what Cassidy?! BITE ME! (No pun intended)

“Go to hell.” I very softly whispered, so quietly that I hardly heard it myself.

I decided to just walk away and possibly tell someone about what I had just seen.

But when I had thought of that idea, I didn’t expect to find two angry vampires, arms crossed, with a smirk slowly forming into an evilly playful grin, very obviously spread on their faces. That just sucks. Literally.

Chapter 10 Version 2: “I heal fast” EmPOV

(a different version to chapter 7)

I began hunting my prey, and as soon as I pick which irritable grizzly I will soon be feasting on, I got ready to follow the delicious scent and track down my momma grizzly bear.

About to quench my thirst, I break the grizzly’s neck bone with a sickening snap. When my teeth are mere millimeters away from layers of fur, fat, and gristle, right above the throbbing vein which encloses the warm, searing blood, I realized…something smells off...greatly more appetizing than what I’m getting.

I streak past the trees like lightning, racing to the luscious blood that sings to me. Before I even realize what I’m doing, I tackle the defenseless, innocent girl standing before me when I had paused, and lunged for her throat. But as I am mere inches away from sinking my teeth into her soft skin, I register the fact that I am about to kill my best friend.

I stagger backward, completely repulsed by the feeling of wanting her blood, trying so hard not to believe what I was about to do, giving her a bit of a scratch on the way. But even though it was very little, a few beads of blood were scattered at the opening. Right before my eyes, as if by magic, her cut healed itself out of nowhere. Not a mark of scar left. Only pure untouched skin. How is that possible? I have seen amazing things in my past but have never seen that. Only one thing is remotely similar to that, and that’s the healing of a werewolf.

“I heal fast.” She whispered, noticing my staring at her once scratched arm.

“No. You’re a… a…”

“Werewolf.” She sighed, realizing that it was no use lying to me.
